Emerald Rich Lawns Inc in Brownstown Township

I’ve been a customer for a few years. They came out to service my lawn for fertilizer on 7/15/24. When I looked at my bill, I noticed a charge for $50 for grub control. I never signed up for that service, so I called. The woman I spoke to rudely informed me that it was in writing on my two previous invoices, that I would be receiving grub control, and that if I did not want it, that I needed to call them and let them know. I never noticed this information as I just paid my bill the previous months as usual. I told her that she could cancel my service then. She put me on hold and came back and said that she spoke to a manager and they said would take half of the $50 off, leaving me responsible for $25 for a service that I never solicited or wanted. I told her that I was surprised that they weren’t even trying to keep me as a customer and hung up. I feel that this was a very deceptive business tactic. People should have to call and sign up for a service(s), it should not be added on with the expectation for someone to call and say that they don’t want it. If they valued me as a customer, they would have removed the $50 charge all together and said it would not happen again. I have filed a complaint with the MI Attorney Generals office

Tim from emerald rich lawns came out to work on my sprinkler system. Great guy and did a great job. Highly recommend this company.

I cannot ask for a better fertilization company. Look at the results. From rags to riches. Stripes for days. 5 stars all day long.

wow so here is my opionon of this company.....Horrible after being lied to by one of the workers saying they would send someone right out early in the week and never showed up so i had to call and cancel, then telling me they sprayed for crabgrass which i was told by them that crabgrass doesnt grow until june. we lost our lawn to weeds you would think that would be the first thing to spray for. Also the guarantee on their homepage isnt they will not make it right for the customer.

I called the 1st week of April about timing to get my first lawn fertilization. I was told they would be out when schedule permits. I called again the 3rd week of April and was told the same thing but she added it's been too wet in your area and "we have until 1st week of May to get your 1st application done". I called again on 4-28-22 because my neighbor right across the street had his done. So I asked "why wouldn't you have done my application if you were right across the street"? I was given an excuse once again, our technicians can only do a certain number of applications a day. I said if I've made 2 calls inquiring about my application why wouldn't I be scheduled along with my neighbor if you were on my street. She repeated the same response but assured me it would be done on Saturday 4-30-22. Saturday no one showed up to do my fertilization which did not surprise me. Do not waste your time and money with company. They obviously have more accounts than they can handle. I was with TruGreen for 11 years and only switched because I thought they might do a better job. Big mistake...the worst customer service experience I have ever had.

Had this company for 2 years. They always fertilized front, back and both sides. Last 2 times they did not do the back. When I confronted the tech he said he never did the back. I told him I know it was always done because I always had to sweep the granules off the landing. So he said he would. Well the next day I looked and backyard lawn is burnt and a burnt circle on front lawn. I called the company left a message and sent an email and still have not heard from anyone. I will not use them again!!

Had used Emerald formerly and had to cancel service for a period of time while I was having our property re-landscaped due to pool installation. Recently Rich came out to evaluate my lawn. I immediately detected an "attitude" because I had previously cancelled service. Rich then stated that Brittany would send me a quote "in the mail". Never received the quote. Called a week later and the woman I talked said she would email a quote (which probably would have been a good idea from the outset). Never received the email. I decided to use Tru Green. They were a little more responsive. Very disappointed. No response = no business!!
