Edward's Lawn & Landscaping in Brooklyn

Updating my review to add we just had the leaves done by Marcus and his crew and they did an excellent job. Communication continues to be excellent with Christian and Kristin, so much so we are adding additional services. I continue to be impressed with Edwards Lawn & Landscaping. Especially James and his crew. Extremely responsive and always on time. Quality of work is excellent! Communication is excellent as well. Christian and Kristin always answer my emails quickly and schedule around my busy schedule.

Crew lead Marcus and his team did an absolutely fantastic job! We had a ton of leafs and they came in with a plan of attack and totally knocked it out in quick order. Great job!!

Kristen made it refreshingly easy to conduct business with Edwards Lawn & Landscaping..There was a willingness to answer questions. Mike and his crew proved to be extremely reliable and did an excellent job. It was a good choice on my part to hire them.

Update: This was a nightmare. This was my original review: I contacted them for a two-house landscaping/drainage project in Laurel. They gave me the best price (out of 4 contractors). The crew also re-seeded the entire area when they finished as part of the standard wrap-up (other contractors wanted to charge extra for that). Less than a month after the project ended, the problems began. We contacted the company primarily for flood mitigation. But literally as soon as it rained, we realized that the companys solution (burying a water tank) did not work at all. The tank overflowed immediately (something they said would only happen in a major storm). And when it overflowed it turned a huge part of our yard into a standing pond and there was nowhere for the water to go. The pond also risks backing up into our sump pump line (which they connected) and flooding our house. They initially tried to say my neighbor changed his work plan and created the problem in my yard. One conversation with that neighbor revealed that was just a fabrication. After WEEKS of trying to get them to come back out to try to fix the problem, they emailed saying that their contract specifies that they do not guarantee any of their suggested solutions will actually work. Even though they made the situation immediately worse, thats on us. Oh, and all of the grass they seeded immediately died. I had to redo it myself. Do not use this company if you want to trust the quality of drainage solutions.

Edwards Lawn does great work. Last year they did a very nice rock bed on both sides the house and this fall we hired them to clean it out. They are prompt and responsive both workers and office staff. Thanks Edwards Lawn.

Edwards has provided reliably good lawn service for our home and I wanted to give some praise and thanks to Marcus and his crew for the extra attention the last two cuttings. Although it was very wet two weeks ago, Marcus took his time to ensure that our lawn looked good. This week, he was able to fully cut and edge our lawn and it has never looked better for this time of year. He even went above and beyond by overseeding some bare areas. This saved me a trip to Ace and allowed me to complete a honey do list item for October. thanks again for great service at our home.

Were wrapping up our second year of using Edwards for lawn mowing, Marcus and his team do a great job, they are always on schedule, weather permitting, and wont cut if the grass doesnt need it. The office is good about communication for weather and holiday induced delays, too.

They meticulously cleared the flower bed by removing every last weed, carefully trimmed the bushes, and then replaced the worn-out mulch with vibrant rubber mulch. Very dissatisfied with the service. I contacted them shortly after landscaping my yard and asked that to replace the flower that had died. They informed me that there is no warranty and I would have to pay for a replacement. They are more concerned about making money than making lifelong customers. I requested 1/2 inch top dressing and got exactly that. I spoke mainly with Carlos on the day of and I could tell in 2 minutes my lawn was in good hands. Both guys were great, and would highly recommend them if you re particular about your lawn. As for the top dress material, it was Leafgro, maybe a little more barky than a bag is, but it was some large rocks I found in the lawn that was a bit frustrating. I m sure they deal in bulk, so they re at the mercy of the supplier. The safety factor of a lawn mower catching one is my chief concern. There were not many by any means, but just enough to make it something to consider. It was my first experience working with them, and I found them highly responsive and friendly throughout the process. I would recommend and use again.

Ive been using Edwards Lawn & Landscaping since I moved into my house, which is the first lawn Ive ever had to maintain and also pretty darn big. Theyve cut down trees, installed a rain garden, and today James and his crew came to do weed cleanup because the weeds were just crazy and I couldnt keep up. We had garden bed clean-up and mulching services done and Steve R. and his crew did an amazing job and finished the huge job in just one day. Everything looks great and my husband and I are very happy with the results.

Nice work, I wanted to wait for rain to see just how well water would be removed. My yard is wet but not soft and swampy. New grass has begun to grow. Only small issue is that straw in lower yard has washed up to my chain link fence.

Our experience with Edwards, James the crew leader, and Christian the project manager, was exceptional. More was done than expected, and done with care and expertise. We had trees taken down, trees trimmed, shrubs removed, earth prepared for future planting, mulch laid, and grass seed spread. All was done professionally and for a very reasonable cost. I have to say fine touches like taking care of grass growing within the cement, your sidewalk, your driveway, even cleaning out the grass within your outside basement steps. This group was fantastic from the estimator to the 3 man crew who did the actual work. There wasn t an easy way to get the supplies needed to the area yet the crew did so with no impact on the surrounding are. The job was completed in one day and we had a backyard party the next. Would definitely use Edward s for future work.

After dealing with an unresponsive lawn maintenance company that left my yard in terrible shape and actually damaged both the lawn and my property, I found Edwards. This is the first year I have used them, and they have been excellent. They transformed my mess of a yard into a beautiful lawn. They always show up and do a superb job of mowing, trimming, and cleaning up. They also did a spring maintenance that including mulching and pruning. One thing that stands out about Edwards is their superb communications with customers. They always let you know if any service is delayed by weather. They also notify you when other services are available but they do not pressure you to buy the extra services. Their billing system is also outstanding, which takes another hassle out of the process. No mailing checks and hoping they arrive. All around, Edwards is an outstanding company.

Had a 2nd job done by Edwards Lawn & Home since they did so good the first time. Job was re-grading/re-sloping landscape, adding top soil and sod and seeding. They did an excellent job. They paid attention to details and consulted me frequently.

Cannot follow simple instructions. We have 3 dogs that have open access to the fenced-in portion of the yard that this company services (well, used to service). One dog is particularly protective and will bite strangers if they enter the yard. Edwards has been told this several times. Three time this summer they just showed up for service and let themselves into the fenced in yard. Luckily (?) due to Covid-19, I have been working from home and noticed the arrival and was able to corral the dogs before anything bad happened. I would then call them, and they would admit that the folder says they need to call the day before, but that they once again forgot. They either do not understand the seriousness of having a dog bite one of their employees or do not care. Either way, since they cannot follow a simple condition of service, I would definitely not recommend them.

Highly recommend! Great communication, competitive price, and outstanding service. I had drainage issues in my yard, scheduled a consultation, and they were able to come out the next week to perform the work. Everything was completed within a day and I am very pleased with how everything turned out!

Edwards lawn and landscaping did a great job for us. Bought a home with very overgrown back yard and front yard. Side yards mostly mud. They listened to us and our needs. Did a beautiful job. Have received lots of compliments.

Dissatisfied with the work done by this company, contracted them to seed a relatively small yard and fix a small drainage issue, you can see the results in the attached pictures. No body believes that we spent almost $5k and got these poor results. In addition, they caused new drainage problems and crushed an underground drainage pipe, and had overall poor customer service. Weve been working on the yard since they claimed it was completed and we still have ways to go before it is in decent shape. This is the first time we post negative reviews for any business. Be warned, they portray professionalism but dont act or deliver on it when the time comes.

Extremely disappointed. Initially everything seemed great, but the written contract had not been clear (partially my fault), and when I tried to tell them what was discussed, the rep who had made great promises was no longer with the company. The new person promised twice to come out and resolve the issues, but he only ended up giving me a quote for several hundred dollars for something I believed was already included as part of the contract. I finally stopped trying and found someone else who did an amazing job. I still ended up spending about $1k extra, but at least now I have a reliable contractor who has since done 2 jobs for me.

I have employed Edwards Lawn and Home for over a year now, and could not be more pleased with them. They have done an outstanding job with lawncare for my house. I would highly recommend the.

It went perfectly. Both techs were friendly, knowledgeable and professional. Mark, the primary tech serviced my lawn last year which helped this time. His helper Tyler was a big help and is a very friendly and respectful young man. If I ever need full time lawn care services I would definitely hire Edwards Landscaping.

Highly professional and very service oriented. My small landscape job went very smoothly from obtaining an estimate to having the work completed. I am very pleased with the results and would use this company again for future landscape needs.

I have been using Edwards Lawn & Home services for over a year now, and have been pretty happy! At this rate, I plan to continue using them for as long as I live in Maryland. In the summers, they mow my lawn. This includes edging. Its really been worth the money at $55/visit (as of this year) on my half-acre wooded lot. They work within my budget and do not visit weekly if the grass isnt tall enough. This will be our second fall season where they clean up our leaves. I compared their price to others, and it turned out they were better priced. They also quote you for worst-case scenario--and you can cap how many visits for leaf clean-up they do. This is another example of them working with your budget. Finally, we recently had them do some rain damage mitigation work for our yard. I explained what I hoped to have done and my budget, and then we worked on how to get the most important stuff done within my budget. Due to the heavy rains in years past, weve had some erosion and loss of ground cover. After lots of planning, back and forth on details, and answering my many questions, we were set to start! They replaced our really old/non-working french drain. Other aspects of this project included shaping/defining and lining ruts in my yard dug out by years of rain with rocks. This all leads to a seasonal stream on our property. They also seeded my yard with a grass variant that should do well in shaded areas. Phillip (the Production Manager assigned to me) and Kristen (the office lady) both have always had wonderful communication with me. From my questions to my concerns, they communicate quickly and clearly. Besides of course the great work, their communication really means a lot to me. I would suggest you give them a try!

Edwards team are the BEST. Called about pruning (last minute) they came the next day and did the best job ever. Cant find the value anywhere.

I live in the Wyndholme Woods Community and the job that this company is doing is horrible. They barely cut the grass down, there are so many areas of grass that are never even touched with this company. They do the bare minimum and leave a mess to clean up. I manage a community and the job that this contractor does is unacceptable, they dont use a blower or anything. We still have leaves from the fall on the hill, we also have a small tree that was leaning over from a wind storm that we had months ago. They never ever tried to fix it or bend it back into place. I must say the people that they have working in this community do a piss poor job!!! I also have pictures if you would like to see them. Pictures dont lie. I would not recommend this company to anyone.

I contracted with Edwards Lawn in February to do couple things: 1. Get erosion control in a certain areas by adding top soil, seed and straw 2. Overseed entire yard. 3. Aerate the entire yard. 4. Remove the super silt fence. They showed up suddenly at the end of March, without informing me and told me the lawn work was done. I checked the lawn and found they didnt apply seed on all the top soiled area, and no straw or very little straw. They didnt aerate the entire lawn, just here and there like a 2 year old did the job. They didnt overseed most of the lawn, instead, they randonly seeded some area, which was about 1/20 of the yard! I also watched how they remove the super silt fence. Thats 5 feet wide and about 300 feet long steel wire fence with 3 inch steel posts. They couldnt even remove 1 feet of fence because they were trying to dig it out using shovel. I called them couple times, emailed them 3-4 times, but no response, except their billing lady sent me the bill and called me for paying the bill. They did come back but they still didnt seed the entire yard and apply the straw. Search for Youtube video with title Lawn work done by Edwards lawn llc , linthicum height, md. thats the result I got. I called and emailed them couple times. There wasnt any response for 4 weeks, except they insisted that straw is not needed despite that it was written in the contract. The best time for overseeding was missed. Eventually I told them I wont pay unless they come back and finish the work. Then, the site manager Jeremy showed up and worked on the lawn in May 3rd. He brought 2 bales of straw and one and half bags of seed. I have a 2 acres lawn. what he brought wasnt enough at all. But he was exhausted and soaked sweat after got baked in the sun for hours. I looked at this miserable man and said, OK, thats it, Edwards Lawn, I gave up, you won. Of course, I got invoice email at the same day, and one email written by billing lady every day to remind me that I need to pay. I paid tonight.

I just bought my first house and have no experience in lawn care, I don t even own a lawn mower yet. I contacted Edward s to set up a weekly mowing/lawn care schedule for the spring/summer and to remove some trees. They came out right away and were prompt at getting me a quote. The day after they came out, I saw that they also did deck installations so I recontacted them. They made a second trip over right away. And while I was at work, they went ahead and did the first lawn cutting, so I had a nice surprise when I pulled into the driveway.

Responsive, Professional, and Reasonably Priced Services!

Had a contract with this company to repair my yard. After two months of waiting, 3 different stories as to why the project was delayed, they finally admitted they underbid the project and ended the contract. At no time did they advise me of this issue, never offered a adjusted price, or alternative solution. Now a have to scramble to find someone to take on my project. Not a nice company to work with.

Scheduled a project with them. On the scheduled day, no one showed up. Contacted them. Seems they had cancelled our appointment due to rain. First off, no one bothered to inform us of that. Secondly, what rain?? Rescheduled. A crew showed up late in the afternoon. Looked at the area and told us that it was too late in the day to start. So they would be there first thing in the morning. Next morning, no crew. Called them to find out that they were short-handed that day. Rescheduled. Crew finally showed up and completed two of the three projects. Poor quality work. As for the third project, no information. Called them only to find out their scheduled is booked solid and we have to wait another two weeks for them to come out. We cancelled the final project. No apologies from them. This company has poor costumer service and no commitment. They are over-priced, and the work is not quality.

They dumped soil on top of grass and charged $757 for it.

Asked for a quote on a project and Kyle came out - very professional and personable. I asked several questions during the proposal process which were answered quickly and completely. Although we ultimately selected a different vendor, we would definitely consider Edwards for our future landscaping needs.

Edwards Lawn always takes great care of my lawn. They recently completed two projects for me - one was to repair some wildlife damage and the second was my routine quarterly pruning. Both projects turned out better than I expected and they exceeded my expectations. The crew is always professional and cleans up behind their work. I highly recommend Edwards Lawn and Home!

This is by far the most competent company that I have encountered in a long time. From first contact to final project, every person I met was extremely professional and knew what they were doing. I had horrible drainage all around my home and with all of this rain, we had many ponds in my yard. It has rained since and I didnt even have a puddle now that Edwards did my drainage solution. Thank you all for helping me. I will be back!

I contacted Edwards Lawn & Home about a small grading job. They responded quickly to my inquiry, came out immediately to do an estimate, and worked with me to stay under my budget! The crew did a good job on the work as well. I would definitely recommend this company, AND I would use them again!

We call these guys for an estimate for landscaping services at our residence. Although the account manager that arrived was friendly, they never followed up with a quote for over 2 weeks. In fact, we would call them a few times with no response at all. With so many landscaping companies out there, this is extremely poor customer service. We decided to go with another company that was much more responsive and actually cared about taking on new clients.

Did great job. Removed bushes and did some re-planting. Professional and quick. Would use again.

I would never recommend them. They are dishonest and over charge for services not completed. When you call and try to speak to the owner to rectify the situation, he does not return calls.

I had Edward s Lawn and Home do a couple of jobs for me over the past year and they have provided excellent service each time. First, I needed a pretty extensive drainage system installed because about four houses drain directly to my backyard when it rains. Kyle, the owner measured my backyard, took some photos, and provided me with a detailed, itemized scope of work. They executed that scope to perfection. The second time Edward s Lawn and Home came to my house was for more of a routine mulch and trim to make the house look good. Again, Kyle came to the house and provided me with a very good estimate. His team worked through the rain to get the job done. I was putting my home on the market and didn t have a lot of time. Kyle rearranged his schedule to accommodate me. You don t see that a lot. All in all, this is a great lawn care company. They are my go-to from here on!

We have been having Edwards do lawn work for us for years and on every occasion they have done excellent, thorough work. Absolutely no complaints, ever! We highly recommend them!

I was referred to Edwards Lawn and Home by a neighbor and I could not be happier with the service. So far I have been using them for about 4 months for weekly lawn maintenance. They do a fantastic job, everything you would expect from a quality landscaping company. I recently learned they also do seasonal clean ups and leaf removals. I look forward to using them in the future!

Updated review: After I posted my original review of Edwards Lawn & Home, LLC, I was contacted by Kyle who apologized and offered to work with me to replace our bushes that had died. We agreed on a fair price (his operations manager felt it was our fault because we didnt water them enough and I disagreed because I saw my husband water them every other day) and within a week all four dead shrubs were replaced with new ones. Its only been a day since they were installed, but Im editing my review now because Kyle as been agreeable and followed up to see if things were okay. Im glad we were able to resolve things. Original review: Ultimately, we had a terrible landscaping experience with Edwards Lawn & Home. Initially, our communication went well with Kyle. About a week after we first called, someone came out and spoke with my husband about what we wanted done. They surveyed our yard and then emailed a quote. We appreciated how the proposal was organized by the 6 things we wanted done and included photos and a price for each component. We ended up getting 5 of the 6 things done for approximately $1,875. The workers showed up on time and cleaned up after they were done. My husband was home at the time and noted, however, that no one rang the bell to let him know when they were finished. As a result, they didnt get the tip was husband was going to give them and he had to go out on his own (after they had already left) to check that everything was done. It was and we were initially satisfied. Then, things went down hill from there. About a month later, we noticed that 4 of the bushes they planted were starting to turn brown. We were watering all of them at the same time and the same amount so we couldnt figure out why some were dying and the others werent. A few weeks later, the 4 bushes were all dead. I took photos and contacted Kyle via email (that way, I could attach the pictures). He responded about 48 hrs later saying he would speak to someone in his office and get back to me. He never did. So, about 2 weeks later, I called the office and spoke to someone who took down the issue and my telephone number and said they would call me back. No one ever did. So, about two weeks after that, I called back and spoke to a new person. She said the office was without a receptionist for a while and apologized that my call wasnt returned. She said she wasnt sure what bushes I had planted, but at least one other client had some of his bushes die on him. She thought maybe they same shrub was planted at both his home and mine. She took down my information and said Kyle would call us back within a few days. Guess what - no one ever called. So - you guessed it - I waited about a week after we were supposed to get a call and then called Edwards Lawn & Home. I got the same women I spoke to the previous time. She was very nice and apologized again. For a second time, she took my information and said Kyle would call back. And yes - you guessed right again - we still havent heard from a soul. Its such horrible customer service not to even call us back. Yes, Im pissed that we have 4 dead bushes in front of our home, and Im upset that we spent about $1,900 and now we have to spend even more money to have the shrubs replaced, and Im mad that I thought Edwards Lawn & Home would live up to its promises because they had such great reviews on Angies list. I would never recommend this company to anyone.

I had Edwards Lawn for two projects - to replace a cracked broken concrete step next to my deck and to create an asphalt berm on my lawn next to the road to prevent water coming on my lawn during heavy rain. Difficult job - lawn is on steep downhill. They completed both projects in a timely manner as planned. Good job ! I would recommend them

Horrible experience!!! Do not ever use this company. they will skip your appointments, they will come when they are not needed, and they will overbill you every single time. I gave them 3 chances to correct their mistakes and the owner basically said, if you dont like the way we do it, find someone else. My wife waited with a 3 month old in her arms for an hour. She called to find out what was going on and they stated they wouldnt be coming. WORST LANDSCAPING COMPANY EVER!!!!!
