DESIGN BY PLANTS is a Brooklyn and Kerhonkson, NY based garden and landscape design/build group. We are architects, landscape designers, horticulturalists, builders, farmers, artists, ethnobotanists, and gardeners passionately and creatively returning nature to landscapes large and small. From small artisanal and medicinal gardens to permaculture farms and wetland restorations we design and build restorative plant environments, regenerate ecological systems and support your health, nutrition, delight and comfort needs in the garden.

John, Whitt, and crew thoughtfully designed and created a beautiful garden in our brownstone's backyard. They also installed a breathtaking rock wall, completely made up of materials found buried on our property - most likely decades ago.
