Demar's Landscaping in Branford

We have used DeMars for the last 9 years at our home in the heart of Pine Orchard, Branford. They do most of our neighborhood which looks amazing, exactly why we continued the homeowners contract when we bought our home. They are very respectful, flexible and always watching out for the gates with our pets. Please know they are not the cheapest but I truly support you get what you pay for. My landlord hired this company to do landscaping around the apartment. They use loud gas-powered leaf blowers every week that give everyone in the apartment hearing loss. For all the times they stop by the apartment, the landscaping never looks that great either. They also sometimes start early in the morning, disrupting everyone's sleep.

I called Demars for a landscaping estimate on several projects including multiple tree stump removals, tree and shrub plantings, pool landscaping, etc and was told Steve was the man for the job based on the scope of what I needed done. Steve showed up-not the friendliest guy on earth, and we went over the things that I would like to accomplish. I asked what the time frame looked like to begin the work and he remarked it would likely be at least a month because this was just "side work" for them-while this was not terribly offensive, it was minimizing what I was really looking forward to getting done and the message it conveyed was that I was not a customer that was going to be lucrative for them so it was not that important. Insensitive, but not the end of the world. When he was done, I asked when I could expect the estimate. He had come on a Thursday and said he may be able to get it to me the next day but more likely the following Monday or Tuesday. By Thursday, I still had not received the estimate. I called Demars and the woman that answered said she'd relay to Steve that I was awaiting my estimate. That estimate never came. Demars clearly is only interested in working with high profit customers and if you don't fit into that category, don't waste your time with them. I was hoping to give my local landscaping company a shot, but there are plenty of other ones more deserving of my business!
