We are a full service Landscaping company employing over 100 people in Brandon, Manitoba. Our services include: landscape design, residential and commercial landscaping installations, excavation, professional residential and commercial lawn maintenance, and snow removal services. We also operate a year round garden centre, which offers tropical plants, bulk landscaping materials, hardsacping products, full nursery, greenhouse and gift shop. Our motto is Superior workmanship from people who care.

Love this place. There's a ton of things to see including gifts and gourmet snacks for gift baskets. That's a complementary coffee bar, and the service really is stellar. It's worth visiting just for that! Prices were great, too. A nice afternoon stop if you're looking to brighten up your winter.
I have gone to alternative for a few Christmas trees in the past and seasonal flowers/decor with good experiences. However this year my husband and I went to buy a 1/2 yard of 1.5” granite, customer service started out great until we ran into an issue loading the stone and were treated with nothing by snobby attitude and as if we were idiots. The girls we talked to at the front desk were wonderful, apologetic and heard our concerns; the two women from the office area were extremely rude, dismissive and spoke to us like we were dumb for expecting any other outcome (damaged tailgate) when loading “rocks.” We weren’t aware at the time of purchase but can understand that they don’t hold liability for any damage to vehicles while in the loading area, however instead of apologizing and trying to hear our concerns with the two young men that loaded our purchase, they immediately got defensive and dismissive. Very much a “it’s not what you say, it’s how you say it” situation that we are thoroughly unimpressed with. In addition, when they took our initial report we were told that someone would follow up with us within a few days - over a week later my husband went back to follow up and they had a sore excuse for an apology and said they “forgot.” Will NOT be shopping or recommending this business any longer.
Some of the friendliest employees I've ever met - and great products too! Plus they always seem to have something really neat for kids. An all-around great company.
Very poor service and won't even return calls! I have installed pavers for 50 years and Palomar sand for as long as it has been out. I installed over $2000.worth of sand and it was no good and I even took a sample in to them and asked for someone to come out and look and they haven't even had the courtesy to come and look. Very Sad way to run a business. Be careful when dealing with these people.
Went there looking for a herb my Thai wife cannot seem to get from the grocery stores in Brandon. They didn't have it but the Norah knew exactly what we were looking for and even put us on the correct path to find it which we did. Lovely business, helpful staff what more could you ask for.
I absolutely love their greenhouse greenhouse area and all the pretty things that they sell! Their plants are exceptionally wonderful and the staff are really nice! Always very helpful.
The best selection of Houseplants in the city, even in the winter! They are friendly, knowledgeable and willing to go the extra mile. I wanted some vermiculite so they bagged some up and sold it to me. Thank you. You gained a forever customer today. In your advertising and online I think you should showcase your indoor plants more so people know how great they are and the huge selection you have! I can't speak to the landscaping part of the business but if it is ran like the greenhouse side, you are in good hands.
What a great garden nursery! The staff are friendly, informative, and helpful. I came looking for houseplants and they gave me some suggestions based on my experience level. They recommended what size of pot I'd need and then even potted the plants for me! There was a lot more variety than I expected and the plants are all in beautiful condition. Overall I am very impressed with the experience and look forward to taking more beauties home in the near future!

I hired the excavation crew to assist with a 100+ year old home. There were a few hiccups and between the homeowner and the head office we were able to communicate effectively. The crew that was on sight was very polite and hard working, dedicated to the task. I am very thankful I hired Alternative.

On a whim I drove out to Alternative Landscaping to price out some soil. Despite Covid procedures we were seen very quickly, and all the prices were clearly marked on the till - no guessing games! Staff was knowledgeable and to the point while helping us choose our soil. Delivery was fast, the driver put it exactly how we asked. Everything was smooth, cant ask for better than that! Thanks, Alternative. Ill be back.

Ordered for curbside pickup, it was so easy and safe. The best part was the poinsettia I ordered was absolutely beautiful. Probably the nicest I have ever had.

Christmas Open House tonight was lovely...twinkling Xmas lights to welcome us, friendly and helpful staff made us aware of the specials, and so many lovely gift items beautifully displayed throughout the building. Worth the drive to the south end of the city.
