Taddiken Tree Company - SavATree in Boulder

Taddiken is the BEST tree service. Weve been using them for years now and wouldnt use any other. Their arborist is extremely knowledgeable, and always available if I have any questions about the health of our trees. I credit Taddiken with keeping our many trees healthy under all sorts of conditions. We highly recommend them for residential customers like us!

The service men go about their jobs and I dont even know they are there. They knock on the door before they start just to make sure everything is OK for them to work.

On time, polite, helped with some minor dead branchlets removal. Offered options for tree health and Japanese beetle issues. My go-to tree service.

I have been using SavATree for lawn care. Their service has been effective in weed control. Their fertilizer seems to be balanced. As a result, our lawn has been growing better.

The fertilization was great and the guys did a job. Problem was that they missed the fruit trees in the east yard and showed up unannounced. Taddiken always shows up without prior notification, which I dont like.

The Taddiken team removed two stems which had died of a three stem aspen tree. The stems were close to my house and had limited space to drop without damaging other trees, a fence or my house and the team did a great job of bringing the trees down, safely, without damaging anything else. They then cleaned up everything very nicely. The team was also perfectly happy to let me watch the operation which was entertaining and instructive for me. Very nice job.

Just finished up with tree work in Boulder. Jesse Strickland was super helpful with a plan and recommendations for keeping our living trees healthy. Climber Dan and company got all the work done in a day - I was really happy with their safety and communication. They left our place totally picked up and neat. Luke communicated with me today regarding finishing up stump grinding. I was away, but he took the time to send some pictures and the work looks great. I highly recommend this organization for complete tree work and will hire them again if needed.

I had a great experience with the trimming crew. They did a good amount of work on my historic 100 year old old weeping cherry tree. I also appreciated how quickly they came to do the necessary pruning.

My fiancé and I needed our neighbors cottonwood and a little elm trimmed back from hanging out over our yard. It was at the point where the dead branches were becoming dangerous hanging over our kids playset. A heavy snowfall or big windstorm could bring those branches down on our little one or our dog at any point. My family has been going to Tadikken for years and highly recommended them. We are so happy we listened. The whole process of scheduling to customer service to the actual job was top notch. Incredibly professional and kind. I think it was Matt and Tom who did our project, and they came on time (actually early). We made them breakfast and coffee, and they made our backyard look like they were never there. Absolutely incredible. And just in time for a crazy wet, heavy snowfall. Tadikken has been apart of Boulder for years, and as a local myself, it matters to have local businesses treat you right. Im glad Save a Tree hasnt stepped in too much to change a system that is working. I wish I could post our before and after photos.

Customer for years, from pruning to ash (EAB) injections and fertilizer. All work has always been completed in a professional manner to a high standard.

As a home owner who had the trees in our association inventoried by Adam at Taddiken and trimmed by their crew I can assert that their service is top-drawer. The species and condition of every tree were provided on a web portal and the tree trimming crew were nothing short of outstanding. We have some very large trees close to homes and their attention to detail was remarkable. Dan who supervised the crew was a delight to speak with as was Adam.

Taddiken has been very reliable and Jesse Strickland, in particular, has been an excellent advisor on what needs to be done to keep our trees healthy. Jesse is both friendly and professional.

Theyre very professional in how they run their business -- from the initial contact and estimates, to the scheduling and on-site work, to the billing and payment at the end. Ive been especially pleased with the detailed estimates of exactly what work will be done ahead of time, including specifically identifying the individual trees that will be involved, as well as an itemized cost breakdown of the project. They show up on time as scheduled, and thoroughly clean up everything before they leave. I can highly recommend Taddiken for any tree work.

Ive worked with Taddiken at two different properties, one a rental. They always do excellent work, and they have a very solid system for communicating quotes and scheduling and performing work. They also offer a flexible timing option which enables cost-saving if timing is not crucial. They are probably more expensive than less established providers, and in very busy times their availability can be limited. I continue to use them whenever I can to ensure best quality.

We highly recommend Taddiken. We are really happy with the trimming and cable for our big trees from last spring. During a wind storm this month we had a tree fall on our house and we were able to get emergency help as soon as we called. They sent an emergency crew on a Saturday morning and did a fabulous, professional, fast job. They chopped the logs into firewood for us and helped us assess the situation with a lot of clear communication. Theyre always pleasant, considerate, and overall wonderful people to work with. They have been very honest with billing, too.

While I would give the guys who did the actual work 5 stars, the business side did not feel great. Be careful with the verbal and the actual estimates. I was told one thing over the phone and then something completely different when someone came to our property, and then was absolutely staggered by the amount they proposed to do the work (one good sized branch for $922). We were between a rock and a hard place (the branch laying across out neighbors deck and partially blocking access to their house) and had to get the work done and so agreed, but it seemed like the project got a lot more expensive because of the urgency. The estimate was on a Saturday, and I was told that they were so busy the next week that they couldnt say when they would even show up and they had to charge a premium on the bid, and then they showed up late morning on Monday because a crew was available. The actual work took approximately 1 hour. In retrospect, I should have gotten other bids. Word to the wise.

Taddiken is a wonderful company - from the lovely ladies fielding the calls and scheduling to working with Adams assessment/recommendations and the actual trimming/pruning work, everything has been aces with this company. So far we have had a River Birch treated for aphids and nutrient issues, and the team of Daniel, Matt, and Evan did a stellar job pruning our mature River Birch and Austrian Pine. They were three of the finest young men from Taddiken that Ive had the pleasure of meeting; they were polite, professional, and very knowledgeable and they handled our trees/property with great care. I felt fortunate to meet them - thank you, Taddiken, for hiring such fantastic workers!

I strongly recommend this company. They recently did an extensive job including removing storm damage that fell into neighbors yard, pruning many trees, removing a pine tree but not grinding stump, and preparing planting hole for new tree. Everything was done exactly to my specifications.

Taddiken offered the options of setting a firm date to do the work, or agreeing to let them do it when its convenient for them. The firm date was 8 weeks out or so. I took the second option and they did it five days later. The guy that worked up the estimate was all pro, and so was the crew leader. Good dudes I will buy a beer if they show up at my bar.

I appreciate being placed on the urgent no-call list and that you took care of the tree sooner than scheduled because I was afraid my tree would fall. Thank you for that. But I did not appreciate that the crew set up on my neighbors driveway and yard. And I did not appreciate the large amount of debris left in my and my neighbor s grass and rocks. Most importantly my neighbor s yard and rocks. I spent time picking everything up out of my neighbors yard and rocks because I didn t want them to have to do it. I think the crew should have spent time picking all the debris up.

I have a few trees that need very different care - two are babies that are getting munched by Japanese Beetles and one big/mature ash that got damaged during early spring snowstorm plus it is old and requires root treatment from ash borers. I used to use a local company that was acquired by a national chain and they gave me some hard sales. I wasnt happy with that quote. Then I remembered seeing Taddikens beautiful logo around town, so I looked them up and call them. The arborist came quickly and gave me a good and fair quote. The babies that were attacked by Japanese beetles were treated right away, within a week! The tree pruning took a while, but I did tell them that I am not in a huge hurry since it is summer and I rather have the tree trimmed near the fall. The pruning job was really good and they kept my backyard clean. I will definitely use them again!

Taddiken did a great job trimming, thinning and shaping a large elm on the edge of our property, right next to Boulder Country Club golf course. They were careful and respectful of both the golf course property and our other plants. The tree has never looked better: its a lovely shape (doesnt look butchered), is clean and healthy looking. Not inexpensive but worth it. They had one man climing to get branches high in the tree,;another in a bucket lift, working on the outer edges; and one on the ground, lifting up dropped branches out of our other plants below. They had to postpone twice because of cold weather but, each time, communicated well and quickly to rearrange a date and time. They were diligent and quick to supply BCC with their liability insurance policy, which we needed in order for them to cross and park on BCC property. Great experience!

Tree trimming service was well performed, but communications were sorely lacking. Crew didnt show up on scheduled day and time slot; there was no alert; wasted half the day waiting. Further, when crew did show on rescheduling, there was no pre-alert that they were on the way as promised.

Excellent Service - I have an old never been pruned large crab apple tree that had one large branch in the top dead and a large section that broke from a storm. The office called the day before to let me know they were coming. The crew was very professional, friendly and knowlegable. They answered all my questions and made sure I was happy with how the tree looked after pruning it.They did a great job shaping what was left of the tree and cleaned up all the trimmed branches. Scheduling and communication with these guys is basically non-existent. It s my own fault. I hired them years ago, swore them off, then hired them again, and am now swearing them off again. Here s how their scheduling (as best as I can tell works). They provide an online estimate for you. If you pay it, they consider it scheduled. Once scheduled you never hear an estimate for when they are going to arrive. Seriously! ... You only get notified 4 days before they are actually going to arrive. - In my case, I paid for my trees to be treated with an in ground solution. I heard nothing. I waited... months! - I finally called and was told that it is scheduled for between February and June of this year! - and got the information that I would only be notified 4 days before the work begins? - The person on the phone STILL couldn t tell me when I could expect them! - I told her I wanted my money back. She said no problem, someone will call you today to take care of that. Any guesses? Yep, no call today. - I have no idea when I will get my money back. UPDATE: Okay, I got a call back from Stuart (finally) after emailing them again asking when I was going to get a call. Stuart called back the same day the email was sent. Okay, let s start with my mea culpa : - They didn t charge me for the work ahead of time. They only charge after they have done the work. I assumed they had charged me and never checked. - My bad. But here is what Stuart told me: - I (apparently) am the only one who complains about their lax scheduling. (I asked him directly about this - and he confirmed that they don t get complaints). So, I guess if you are more laid back , these guys will be a good fit for you. - The way the scheduling works is what I ve described above - there is a window in which they will do the work. In my case - February 2 to June 30, but they can t tell me where within that timeframe they will actually be by. - He did confirm that the only notification you will get is about 4 days before they come by. - He did offer that they could schedule a specific date to come by and do the work. - That was confusing to me. That is what I ve been asking for all along. - He did admit that they could be better about letting people know where they are in the queue per the work they have scheduled. He even suggested that maybe they could update people monthly (but I got the impression that is not something they are going to do). I told Stuart that it must just not be a good match for me. I do like to schedule things and know (roughly (within a couple of weeks)) when that work is going to be done. - They don t work that way. - So, if you can roll with that, they probably would be a good fit for you.

05/12/2020 2:00pm MDT: Site workers have not been respectful. One laughed after I spoke my heart so I yelled. No respect for the land or my possession shows differently then the reviews posted. No respect for people is even worse! Where are the masks that everyone is forced to wear when in contact with other people? They are employees and therefore have to follow the county order or is that exempt for special people. If they had respect I wouldnt have had to tarp my patio or clean up after they leave. Which apparently wont be till sometime tomorrow. I hate leaving bad reviews but its all people can do is stay home and social distance. The work started prior to what I know to be regulated quite hours in Boulder but maybe the police were wrong. So now a formerly night and third shift worker cannot sleep. Feels terrible, but its just a person right? A job and money is more important and my problem was not theres. Cool. Dually noted! Rose from Taddiken finally called me back and confirmed that its their job and they are not required to notify anyone but the home owner. In a college town? And during a Pandemic? Ok. Just pay for my therapy session then and for the other people in my building affected. Woman should be protected; this one speaks up!

I have used Taddiken in the past and called them again about a tree with a leaf miner problem. They came and advised that the tree was otherwise healthy and my problem could be easily fixed. They also had some other suggestions which made sense. Caleb came shortly after the assessment and was very professional and friendly.

This is our first year working with Taddiken for seasonal tree fertilization and we found them to be very knowledgeable and helpful. They provided helpful advice on tree care for our young trees and helped determine if one was sick (it just needs more water). We ll definitely continue to use them.

I have an ash tree that I was worried about. I had scheduled an appointment a month prior to the appointment. The date and time arrived and no one. I called to main number when fifteen minutes past my appointment time and they were going to contact the person. Within 10 minutes they arrived. They were able to treat my tree at the same time. The Arborists are very skilled, and their equipment is first rate.

On a positive note, they do good quality work, and know trees. However, I was disappointed with paying a premium price to have damaged branches removed from a tree following the September snowstorm, and then having them show up several weeks after they said they would to do the work. I realize that they were having to deal with a number of downed trees, but I would have expected the schedule and the price to be better in line.

Got our estimate in Late June/ early July. Earliest available appointment was October. With two major storms we got pushed back into December. Our big Siberian elm lost a limb the size of a tree and landed on our truck. So add $500.00 to our eventual bill. Taddiken does great work, it was a big job trimming up our tree without taking too much and keeping her healthy. Other than the time delay, work is awesome and I highly recommend them.

They removed a big dead aspen tree from our lot. It seems like they were in and out really quickly. They cleaned everything up and it was perfect. They are highly recommended. My only comment is that they their calendar is very full and it took 4 months +- to get this service completed.

We had a tricky situation: an old silver maple that the City wanted to take down and that we desperately wanted to save. Taddiken helped us find an independent arborist to assess the tree, and based on his recommendations Taddiken wrote up a proposal for saving the tree while addressing the areas of the City s concern. Result: the City accepted Taddiken s plan, they pruned the tree while minimizing loss, and everyone is happy. Definitely win-win. Everything Taddiken has done for our trees over several years, including pruning, cabling, treating against emerald bark beetle and more, has been professional, careful, thorough. Reasonable prices, and they don t recommend work just to jack up your bill. These folks are the best!!!

Ever see the Taddiken trucks around town? There s a really good reason, they are amazing! With the big wind lately, we lost half of a 55 pine. Taddiken sent out the friendliest arborist out that day. 48 hours later (they offer rush service) a crew of 4 showed up, and took the tree down in less than four hours. From start to finish we couldn t be happier with our experience and will be calling in the spring for more tree help.

The owner works thoughtfully and with integrity. I would trust then with my trees, and am so happy to have found this gem of tree service. I highly recommend.

This spring was the first in the new home and some of the trees didnt look great. Taddiken came out did an air spade service. Thank goodness as the landscaper had had not even removed the bags from the trees which led to the roots choking the trees as they grew around them! The tech who came out worked very hard and was very knowledgeable and approachable. They are now treating all of our trees.

Luke came out and treated our ash tree for emerald ash borer. He explained everything as he went through the injection process. Great job!

Showed up, scoped out, roped in, chopped down, hauled away, chipped into trailers, and altogether vanished, in one hour, what had been a beetle-infested cottonwood, thanks.

I couldnt believe how quickly and professionally these trees were removed, and the sites cleaned up as if nothing had happened! The staff was friendly and helpful, answering all questions. Scheduling delays, poor communication from their office, left over mulch that shouldve been removed, and a number of missed branches are a few reasons for a 3 star. They did prune a fairly tall tree which looks great now.

Safe working company

Had the most broken limbs in our tree with a huge limb on our roof from the snow storm yesterday. They were out to look at the damage early this morning and the crew was there later that morning. Taddiken has serviced our tree needs for years and today we had the same excellent service. Never been disappointed no mater the situation; quick, friendly and professional. Thank you again!!

We called midsummer and they were scheduling out into October. They put us on the cancellation list and got the job done in August. The tree pruning was not only above and beyond what we expected but was also beautiful

I contacted Taddiken Tree Company to remove three large dead trees from a rental property.My initial call was answered promptly and professionally by Kelli who quickly set up an appointment and followed up with timely reminders. I was met at the property by Dave,a professional arborist, who quickly assessed my needs and offered excellent advice. When the work crew,supervised by Brian,arrived on the appointed date,they took down the trees and did an excellent job of mulching and clean up.
