Excellent lawn care, our lawn looks the best its ever been, and this during a hot Indiana summer!

Would only accept weekly mows, even though the lawn does not need to be mowed that often. Not once did they check in with the property owner. Didnt spend much time, if any at all doing what they had been paid to do. Spent more time unloading and loading the mower than they did on the yard and failed to pick up any sticks as the contract required. Wanna get screwed; royally give them a call. @Wells; want to make it right? Issue a refund. Our current landscaper does a whole lot extra for a third of the price you were charging and only comes around when needed.

Due to the storm on 6/25/24 that cruised through Spencer, Ellettsville and Bloomington like a freight train, many MANY trees were taken down. Making roads impassable. Falling on homes and vehicles. Taking out power lines. I am NOT a customer of Wells Lawn Care and Landscaping, but I will be looking to remedy that situation soon. A full crew spent the entire day (6/26/24) going out into the community and did FREE tree clean up and removal. They service several of the homes in my neighborhood and showed up to clean out not only their customers for free, but their neighbors. I am one of those latter fortunate souls and I really could not be more grateful. I have no tools to clear what fell in my yard...and I was one of the fortunate ones when it came to this storm. Wells Lawn Care stepped up and served the people of this community without hesitation and without asking for a dime to do so. I am appreciative beyond measure for the kindness I saw demonstrated and received myself. We need A LOT more of these kinds of businesses and people in this world. Thank you guys so much!! You truly have no idea how much this helped me personally and so many others.

Wow. I just finished up watering all the fresh landscaping, and cleaning up some things that were covered up from the old worn out landscape. What a difference this has made!! I can t even tell you how happy this design makes me, and what a great job the crew did. An extra shot of gratitude to Anna and Joe, because I feel like they were the superstars! Anna was able to nail exactly my vibe. The house somehow looks entirely different and now feels even more like my home. I didn t even mention how much I love weeping trees, and to my elation, I got two! And I thought the walking stick was going to be my favorite, now I have two species I adore! Joe was great, also- he was so thoughtful with his work, respectful of the property, and thorough with his communication. He was really just great. Last night, as my husband and I were checking out the whole thing, my 15 year old son came out and we ended up all sitting on the front porch just chilling. That never happens, and I think it was in part because it just felt so us, and all those old bushes were just a haven for mosquitos! Well done! (Ha! See what I did there?)

I have used Wells Lawn Care for several years - for spring and fall cleanup, for monthly maintenance, and for special landscaping projects. The employees are well-trained, arrive on time, and do great quality work. The owner frequently checks in, and many of his employees have been with the company for years. After each job is complete, they check in to make sure you are happy with their work. I would never want to work with any other landscaping company.

Excellent and efficient lawn care service. The crew did an exceptional job and left the yard in perfect condition. The crew was careful to clear any hazards (e.g. extension cord trailing across the yard) and made sure to return any hazards to where they were originally upon completing the trimming and mowing.

Anthony s Tree Removal did a great job cutting down a medium size tree. The two workers, on site, were very professional, and extremely knowledgeable. They knew the exact location where the tree was going to fall. I highly recommend any of their services. I sent out several quote requests for this project. Anthony s was the only company that responded. Some companies don t respond to requests if they think the job is too small. In the future, Anthony s will be the only company I use for tree removal and lawn care. The fact that Anthony employs multiple veterans on his team is a big plus, in my book! Mark G.

We don t post many reviews and only do when someone has gone above and beyond. Wells certainly did that. We could not be anymore happy with their service. We had the owner come out to do landscape design (we had nothing in our yard so it was a total design from top to bottom). He could not have hit the mark any closer with his final design - it was perfect to what we were looking for. It tells us he listened to our wants and put that into a design that fit our budget and aesthetic exactly. The crews that came out to actually install the landscaping were excellent (seriously - top notch). They communicated when they first arrived, during and at the end of the day to explain what they did, what was left to be done etc. Our yard looks amazing - we could not be anymore happy with the final results. We also had them do fertilizer and seeding for this year since we had some previous bare spots on the yard. Last year we used a National lawn care company do the fertilizer and seed and we were not happy. We switched to wells this year and had our first application done earlier this week. The communication from the tech, Jordan, was great and we could not be happier. As you can tell , we were more than happy with Wells. Highly recommend their services.

I received four estimates for our church s landscaping before deciding to use Wells for our landscape design and installation. What sold me initially was the fact that the owner, who did the estimate himself, really listened to what we wanted and took the time to map out an initial plan and share it with me during the same day. I think he spent about 3.5 hours measuring and mapping things out on the same day if the estimate right in our parking lot. He shared that initial plan with me the same day with a complete breakdown of pricing. The installers were very friendly, listened to our concerns, and responded to ensure any concerns we had would be taken care of. They worked in a timely fashion, and took care of our property, as if it were their own. They were not the most expensive service, and they were not the cheapest service. I feel like we received an excellent finished product for a good price. That s what we hoped for in the beginning when we were searching for a company to design and install landscaping. Super pleased with the results and excited to see those plants grow!

Wells came out to put new trees and grass in our backyard. Did a great job on the grass, but forgot to stake the baby trees so they wouldnt fall over. We wanted a few days for them to come back out, but had to call to get the tress staked. Would totally use them again

The Wells Lawn Care Crew (Dayne and Cass) came out and cleaned it up without complaint and did a really good job. This was my first lawn care service and they were understanding, professional, and did a great job. There was an understandable hiccup with the schedule yesterday as we were just added this week as new customers but they fixed it right away. That s excellent customer service. I can t say enough good things about this business. Give them a try.

Wells completed a landscaping makeover of our street front property and our back yard last week. They were incredibly communicative making sure they were following the beautiful landscaping design that owner Derek Wells had developed. The onsite demo and plant install work was completed by Jeff and Jason who were both conscientious and attentive in making sure we were consulted with any questions as they progressed in their work (very importantly laying all of the plantings out and gaining our final blessing before planting them in the ground.) Both Jeff and Jason were very professional and personable. They both exhibited a strong work ethic and completed their daily work in a timely manner. We were very pleased with our beautiful landscaped yard and our entire experience with this company.

Wells Lawn Care & Landscaping does an outstanding job on maintaining and improving our yard. We use them for several services, including landscape bed maintenance, mowing, fertilizing, soil conditioning, and seeding. First of all, Wells communication is top notch, some of the best I have seen in a business, they always keep us informed of upcoming jobs, and let us know if any changes need to occur (like due to weather). They are responsive to any requests we have (like no fertilize in back yard due to puppy). They redid the seeding in our yard where it did not take in a couple of places. Wells Lawn Care took care of mowing our lawn for several months after we bought our house, but werent actually occupying for 7-8 mos. They were extremely diligent in dealing with a rather soggy backyard, not using the riding mower but instead handling the area with hand trimmers to avoid the mower causing damage to our yard. We were very comfortable relying on their good service while we still lived out of state. We will now take care of our own mowing, but hired Wells to fertilize and treat our yard for the upcoming season. In April 2022 they redesigned our flowerbed landscaping around the house and it looks amazing. Derek listened to what we wanted (simple and low maintenance) and he brought in plants/flowers/grasses and trees that are perfect. That crew was also excellent; on time; worked hard; very courteous. Highly recommend! Friendly and experienced staff, both in the office and in the yard! Excellent at communication as well.

We have been very pleased with Wells. Last fall they regarded and laid sod in out back yard and this spring the dog some spot repair for areas that needed regarding and seeded. They will be our go to lawn care business and we highly recommend. Price was fair. They are punctual with estimates and communication is great. Last fall when their trucks stopped our trash pickup, we bagged it and they hauled it away for us. That was highly appreciated.

Jordan does an excellent job in fertilizing and maintaining our lawn. She provide tips on how to make our lawn better and will search out answers to our particular questions. We highly recommend Jordan!

When Jason and Trenton first showed up to do a recent landscaping project I initially thought, Two guys will never be able to get this job done in two days. It was a really big job involving yard clean up, plantings, hardscaping, and mulching. I thought it would take a full crew of four or five at least two days to get the job done. Then when the guys brought out the plants and a tree and set them on the front lawn on the very first morning, I thought, Surely, they are not going to start by planting the new plants? The beds were a mess overgrown with weeds, old plants, and debris. It seemed like they would need to spend a whole day doing clean up before even thinking about planting anything. But, Jason and Trenton worked so quickly and efficiently. They dug up the front bed in about an hour and had the new plants and a hydrangea tree in place on the first morning. I was amazed at how quickly they were able to get the work done. They clearly had a plan and had everything worked out ahead of time. They were both highly professional and courteous and answered all our questions and concerns. In addition to being fast and efficient, they were very knowledgeable and more than happy to explain what they were doing. They finished the entire job in just under two days and now our front, side, and back beds look very professional and attractive. The stone edging around the front bed looks stunning very appealing to the eye when viewed from the street (and from inside the house). We are considering having the stone edging extended to all the other beds even though they aren t viewable from the street. My wife and I are very happy with the work done by Jason and Trenton. They were both very professional, very skilled, and knowledgeable. We are happy with all the services Wells provides. The company does our lawn maintenance and mowing and we are always happy with how our yard looks. We will definitely call Wells Lawncare and Landscsping for all our yard needs. The crew from Wells just finished a fall cleanup on my property. Our ten + trees drop a lot of leaves and their crew cleaned them all up in an afternoon session. Shortly after they gathered all the leaves to the curb their truck came and mulched up the leaves and hauled them away. Their crew did in one afternoon what would have taken me two days to do! The lawn looks great! (As good as a lawn can look in late fall.). For fall clean up and a monthly lawn care service, Wells LawnCare is the best!

I have been impressed with the reliability of this company. Derek came to assess the job and returns calls or emails promptly. When a shrub planted in the fall didn t make it-it was replaced. I feel that the pricing for the work is reasonable. The work is done well and the crew that has been assigned to my job are kind and do a great job. They came to my property within a week of my first call, to perform a free consult. Derek was very patient with me as I tried to explain the issues I have been experiencing as well as other improvements that I wanted. He did not try to oversell and he sent us 2 quotes within 24 hours for me to choose from. I am giving 5 stars because I am very impressed with their customer service and communication and they were available to start the job within a reasonable amount of time. He seemed to care about the quality of the work so Im confident it would have turned out great but we ended up postponing the project (bc I was not able to get quotes elsewhere for hardscaping).

Employees have been rude to myself and neighbors. Derek said 8 weeks ago he would give us a quote on a project, then wont call back. They planted trees in the neighborhood and did poor work.

Our yard was overgrown and they did an AWESOME job with just the 1st time out. We were amazed at how much better the driveway looked after they did the edging/trimming. During heavy rain our driveway receives sediments from off the road. Overtime, it had built up on the driveway. They shoveled it up and we now have a full clean driveway. The sediments covered an area around 20 ft long and 5 ft wide. They also got rid of a lot of the undergrowth in the backyard around the fence. Their work is definitely professional quality.

We hired Wells Lawn Care due to an untimely mower malfunction. They had us on their schedule within a week, had our yard completed within an hour, took the overgrown areas with grace, and their staff was very polite.

Derek personally asked me to fix a previous negative review. Then never showed up to fix the trees he promised would be taken care of last week. They then tried to use a positive email from my Fiancee that was written before our poor service to speak for how great they are. A shady company. Multiple people in our neighborhood have complaints.

Wells removed our pond and waterfall, removed over a quarter ton of rock and installed grass and a perennial planting area. Jason was hard working, communicated well and was flexible regarding changes. New employee Ethan was a good worker and pleasant. This was a big job complicated by lots of roots from existing trees and a steep little hillside. They also installed a french drain to help with water drainage across the property from uphill backyards. Good job -- well done.

I contacted Wells Lawn Care & Landscaping to clean up a large area in front of my house. It had become overgrown and out of control. I asked them to remove everything in the area, put down lawn fabric and cover with river rocks. They were ahead of schedule, very professional and did a great job. The area looks so nice and clean now. They went above and beyond and it turned out much better than I expected. Good work, good price. I would highly recommend this company.

We contacted Wells to clean up our backyard and lay sod in the backyard where it was all dirt from our new build. They Transformed our dirt backyard into a green backyard. We can now enjoy our time outside. They did great work, at a good price. I would highly recommend them and we will be using them again for any other yard work.

I heard about Wells Lawn Care from members of Network Today International and Derek Wells has come to these meetings on and off himself. My rose bushes died in the Fall last year and given the what I heard about the company I chose to contact them. Jacob Ruble was assigned to head the project to trim my bushes and flowering plants as well as to replace my dead rose bushes. His team came in silent like ninjas and completed their work. I have new and healthy roses bushes that are thriving and the trimmed bushes and flowering plants are now under control. The cost is a little high but the quality of their work is super.

Wells is great and a very fare price. I have used them the last two years and they have taken away the headache of dealing w individuals that dont show or or dont do a great job. They have several plans to choose from to fit your budget and your needs and you can switch at anytime. Pam in their office is very helpful and communication is great. Every once in awhile there might be an issue and that is the true test of a company on how they handle it. Only twice did I have an issue in 2 years and they jumped right on it no questions asked!!!! Life can be stressful enough thus its so nice to come home and chill in my yard and to not have to worry about taking care of it or if it is going to get taken care of!!!

Normally we take care of our lawn ourselves but when my husband was deployed we had Wells do our mowing and trimming. They were great! I wouldn t have anyone else!

I happened to catch Derek Wells in my neighborhood and asked him some questions about my lawn. As he looked at my grass he listed all sorts of technical names of those nuisance plants I simply call weeds. He talked about the various factors that could make it better including breeds of grass, water, pH, and a lot of scientific things. After about 20 years of owning a house, I have yet to spend actual money on my yard (I use an old lawnmower I got for free and I keep my lawn looking half dead). However if I were to spend money, it would be with Wells Lawn Care. He demonstrated extensive knowledge of his industry and seems to have a pretty good system for his crew dispatch. More than a simple grass cutter.

I have been trying to get various landscaping companies to come clean up my front landscaping for awhile. When I reached out, I was set up with an appointment for a consulataion. Derek was knowledgeable and personable during the consultation. I told him my budget and what I wanted. He gave me suggestions to satisfy my needs while also staying in my budget. He had a crew at my house within a couple days. The crew worked extremely efficiently and had everything done within a matter of hours. I feel so great about the work they did all within my budget and timeline.

This is my first review of a landscaper. I signed up yesterday and this morning there they were! My plants and trees have now been trimmed of dead branches and my yard features fresh mulch. I have shopped around for landscaping companies in the area. While all of them have a wait time before a clean up could be done because I asked for it in the middle of summer, Wells at least gave me some good info on their packages, services and prices right away. The edging was done to perfection, the mow superb, the kindness and follow through with the staff excellent!!! Still waiting for a clean up but now that Im a customer I have no doubt I will get in early during next spring. The only reason it is not a 5 star is because Some of the services are booked out for months. This is just different for me because I came from a big city where you can pretty much get anything done the next day. But in Bloomington compared to other places, the service is much better than most!!

I rarely rate any business 5 stars, but I feel justified in doing so for Wells Lawn Care. We had a large amount of landscaping done. Removal of wood mulch near the house and replacing it with river rock and expanding the areas covered with near the house. Improvement of our main drainage area, expansion of a mulch island in the back yard and mulching around that area and the trees near the house. It involved the removal of several bushes and small trees that were either dying or they had grown so large they would not have survived the large scale cutting back that needed to be done, and replacing many of the plants near the house and moving others. Their workers worked very hard and kept us informed of what was happening. The often came to us with some idea that might work better that our original plan without costing us additional funds. In each instance they were correct and we were very glad to take their advice. They did not take any shortcuts in their work. The beds were lowered enough around the house that I can mow right up to the edge of the rock without being concerned with catching a rock with the mower. Would I use them again? defiantly. In fact, they would be the first people I called.

I had leg injury and wasnt able to mow my yard it was beginning to get high I called Wells they signed me up for lawn care service to help me out over the next couple months and came out the next day and did a awesome job more than expected they cut, edged, and trimmed weeds for a great price and showed up very professional came to the door after to ask if I was happy. We moved into a new house in December. Loved the house, hated the yard. We had a big hill at the side of our house that dropped nine feet in the span of about 15 feet. In short, mowing it was a major ordeal. We decided to contact some landscapers to see what could be done. Derek Wells responded by coming to our house, making some diagrams and then mapping out his ideas in a schematic. His schematic was detailed such that he suggested plants to be used and where they should be planted. We consulted with him and made a few changes and approved the concept. Basically, we were going to cover the hillside with river rock and have easy to maintain shrubs and dwarf trees intermixed. We also had them install stone cast concrete steps that went down the middle of the project from the top of the hill to the bottom. Also included was some additional landscaping and mulching to our front yard. We had a little wait from the time we approved the plans to the time they actually started because of their busy season. Once Jeff and his landscaping crew of Drake, Rybolt arrived they went right at it. The crew was very courteous, knowledgeable, and professional. They kept us informed every step of the way. I highly recommend Wells Lawn Care & Landscaping. Derek and his employees take great pride in their work and enjoy what they are doing.

I saw him mowing beside the parking lot behind my apartment this past August and asked him if he would mow down a small area of tall weeds that I was concerned might have poison ivy and ticks so that my dog wouldn t pick something up walking through the tall weeds to get to the lawn section. He not only mowed down the area I asked about but also another section around a tree. He also kept it mowed the rest of the summer. Now that s great customer service!
