Being a fence contractor, I’m very particular about who I work with. Urban Landworks has top tier designers, builders and owners. Their work is outstanding and you can always count on them in every way. When my customers ask me for anything landscaping related I send them to Mike because I know him and the rest of Urban Landworks will knock it out of the park every single time.
I can express how happy we are with Urban Landworks. We are a Bloomington, Minnesota family and we had heard incredible things about UL. They did not disappoint. We had bids from other companies. Those companies, either did not return phone calls or did not send us plans in a timely manner, following their bids. Urban Landworks was absolutely incredible from start to finish. We had them do a large project for us that included landscaping, a paver patio, and an outdoor fireplace. The entire process was spectacular. Matt did an incredible job with the design and construction of our project. He listened to us and helped us to make design, stone, and landscaping choices. He came to our home several times to discuss options and ensure that we were getting what we wanted. He also provided guidance about the different plant/tree species, plant zones, to ensure that our landscaping would continue to look good. He was upfront about the timeline and set clear expectations. When the supplier made an error with the stone, he was apologetic, upfront and worked to remedy that situation quickly. He laid sod for us during a summer of unprecedented drought. When a section did not do well, he replaced it immediately and helped us to figure out best ways to help it thrive. The project timeline was incredibly fast (2 weeks start to finish). When the supplies of our choices (trees/plants) were low at local nurseries, he went the extra mile to find a supplier that had them in stock and also ensured that they were of the highest quality. When we made a last minute choice to move our A/C unit, he helped us locate a local HVAC/electric company and had it moved within 48 hours. This was an absolute godsend as other HVAC companies quoted us weeks to come for a bid. His crew (Will, Brogan, and Chris) were incredible! They were efficient, worked hard, incredibly kind, and cleaned up each day. They also delivered a beautiful project and are incredible craftsman. They laid a herringbone pattern and the detail is impeccable. They were communicative, and also ensured that they project was to our liking. We were so impressed by their work. I can not express enough how satisfied and impressed we are with our project, Matt Jensen, Mike Bollinger, Urban Landworks and the entire crew.
If you are looking to add lighting to your landscaping then look no further than Urban Landworks. After searching, and serching, and searching the internet, and being given outrageous minimum quote requirements by other companies, or... getting a quote from other companies only to see that they had added additional lighting, landscaping and of course cost to the quote, that was not even discussed when they came to see the property... I was about to give up in frustration. Then we found Urban Landworks. Looking at their site I was a little intimidated after what we had already gone through, they looked like they did big expensive projects, but I gave them a call anyways hoping for the best, and spoke to Mike. WOW! What a down to earth guy! I told him what we were looking for, and he actually came out that morning, walked the property with me, and said he would send me a quote. We had ballparked prices when walking the property and the quote that he sent matched the ball park right on the nose!, no upsell at all. No ego, no B.S.... it could not have been more simple. Our job was not a big one, just some simple lighting in our landscaping and on the front of our house. The crew came out to do the install, and Mike showed up as well, and all of them could not have been nicer or more reasuring about what they were going to do, how they were going to do it, from start to finish. Yes, these guys do huge projects on huge homes, but... they also treat the little projects like ours, just like they were a big one. Other companies treated us like dirt because the size of our project was not big enough, Urban Landworks treat us with respect! Could not be happier with the lighting and the service provided by these guys, and will be coming back to them again for more projects down the road!
2022 Review We had a handful of little things that needed tending to leftover from last year. Despite being completely booked with projects, Mike the owner made time to come out and take care of these things HIMSELF. That is great customer service. Thanks, Mike, it is appreciated. 2021 Review We just wrapped a significant six week landscaping project with UL and want to report that it went incredibly well. Mike's crew of Zack, Devin, Gavin, Adam and Ryan were incredibly professional, thorough, detail focused and proactive. They are also quick problem solvers and offer solid alternatives. Landscaping looks amazing, they realized our vision, and without a single complaint from any of our neighbors who also commented on their professionalism. Great work you guys, and thanks! Also, the lighting at night looks amazing.
It is not possible to be more happy than Anita and I are about this company and its people. From our "dreaming sessions" with Matt, to design and install, the whole process was a blast. The crew are true artists in every respect. We felt encouraged, our property was respected, the entire operation went off without a hitch. To say we love the sight and sound of this new addition to our backyard would be the understatement of the century! This investment was worth every dollar.
Totally impressed with Urban Landworks! We had a completely unusable backyard with major drainage issues. We had several landscape contractors look at our backyard and Urban Landworks was the only company who were able to correctly address the drainage issues we had going on. We also decided to have them add a boulder wall and a paver patio to make our backyard more usable. The quality of work was absolutely amazing! I would like to thank Mike and his amazing crew for all their hard work and for doing a fantastic job on our backyard project. I would totally recommend this company and will be using them for any landscape projects I may have in the future.

This year with plowing they are leaving my moms house day after day. Not shoveling her stairs as we pay for and not showing up. I know its bee. A bad snow year but now I cant reach anyone. No response to email,messages or any contacy at all. We pay 170 a month.

Urban Landworks is great. They have installed a waterfall and done major landscaping on my Bloomington home. High quality results and and trustworthy people.
We hired Urban Landworks to landscape our patio and backyard. They did a nice job with the design, but did a rushed job putting in the patio and plantings. They came back once to try and correct, but we still have problems. They did not bury the electric lines they put in for the lighting. They didnt bury the water lines they put in. They did not properly secure the fabric so now we have fabric showing throughout our landscaping. They were expensive and I thought I would get a nice patio. Now I think I am going to have to hire another landscaper to fix the issues.
Urban Landwords was great to work with. Mike one of the owners came out to my residential home in Bloomington, and we walked around to talk about what we were looking to do to improve the look of our home. After our first meeting we went to Gertens and picked out our plantings which was about 60-70 plants and one dwarf tree. He also helped us picked out our mulch and landscaping edging. As a final touch that really makes our home stand out is the 6 limestone boulders that he put throughout our landscaping that really makes the curb appeal pop. I would highly recommend Urban Landworks for any landscaping needs.

I contract with Urban Landworks for my Spring and Fall yard clean up. Their crew teams are top notch and pay attention to detail. Great service. I would use them for my weekly yard mowing/maintenance, but I need to get a little exercise during the Summer and manage it myself.

I have utilized Urban Landworks for my general lawn maintenance over the last 4 years. Mike, Matt and John have been very responsive to any questions or concerns I have had pertaining to my lawn. After some tree removal and many years of neglect, Urban Landworks assisted directly with the revival and my lawn has never looked better!
We purchased a house at the end of last year and Urban Landworks had completed some landscaping in July. The beautiful landscaping is part of what sold us on the house. Therefore, we are very disappointed to have experienced several issues with the stonework. Since Dec., at least 30 steps have come loose due to the way they were installed with too large of an overhang and lack of adhesive. We often have to warn our guests to be careful on the stairs not ideal! Our mailman has started propping up the loose stones to let us know when yet another one needs to be secured. We are very fortunate that nobody has gotten hurt. Ironically, the stones my husband (who is not a professional landscaper) has secured appear to be fine. In addition to the stones constantly coming loose, they are also crumbling. The deterioration may be from the pet friendly/no slat ice melt product that was used. We did talk with another landscaping company who indicated that the stones are not the best choice for MN winters. According to the Urban Landworks, the previous homeowners insisted on using this stone. If that is truly the case, I cannot fault them for this issue but wonder why they are even offering this stone as an option if it cannot withstand MN winters. We have reached out to Urban Landworks several times about the stones continually coming loose and not once have they addressed the issue. In the latest communication we asked that they look at the steps and give us a fair quote for replacing them. The response from Mike (one of the owners) was that they were too busy and booking into next year. It was clear from his message that he was not going to make any attempt to address the issues we ve encountered. I then followed up to tell him that they didn t need to be replaced this year and if he wasn t willing to look at them, I was going to submit a review online and to the BBB. His response was that I was threatening him and he was going to file a complaint about me. I m looking forward to seeing what he comes up with given that all I have asked for is that he address the company s poor quality work by providing a fair quote to replace stairs that were installed 1 year ago. Bottom line is that I hope to save others the hassle of dealing with this company.
My husband and I are very impressed with Urban landworks. This is our third year using their lawn services.Our lawn was in horrible condition and they have brought it back to life! I appreciate the great communication. I would highly recommend Urban landworks! They are reasonably priced as well.
I recently spoke with Matt at Urban Landworks about a residential pond that was leaking. This was probably the 10th company I called about this situation and the first one who really understood what was causing the problem and how to fix it. He took time to go check it out first so he could correctly assess the situation. I found them very professional and highly recommend their services.
My family and I hired Urban Landworks last spring and they built us a beautiful paver patio. We enjoyed it all summer long! We were so happy with their professional manner, fair pricing and lovely craftsmanship, were hiring them again this spring to create a water feature to accompany the lovely paver patio. Had a great experience with Urban Landworks! We had some massive drainage problems with our back sidewalk, causing water to accumulate in our basement. We moved forward with Urban Landworks once we saw their portfolio, how they explained what they could do, provided recommendations, and how willing they seemed to work with us. We ended up having our steps and sidewalk poured with cement, front and back, as well as adding a beautiful cobblestone paver patio. The work was very professional and done very timely. In one week they were able to tear everything out and install new. It has been a fantastic place for our kids to play and ride their bikes around. When we had any questions or problems, they were quick to respond. Mike and Matt were genuine, down to earth people to work with and are very passionate about what they do every day. We would highly recommend this outfit for anyones landscaping needs as we are planning to in the future.

Urban Landworks is FANTASTIC!!! I cant say enough about this company! The attention paid to details is incredible! I hired them this year to take care of my lawn. I dont have the time anymore and knowing that all as I have to do is water and cut it has taken a load off of my mind. I come home and a little sign is in my yard so I know they have been there. This was my first year with a lawn care service and I was so pleased, that I just resigned for 2016. Plus, I gave my son and his new wife a house-warming gift of lawn care service for the 2016 season as well! My son and daughter-in-law were thrilled and what a wonderful, easy gift to give!
