Best place for your landscaping needs

We have been buying various landscape items from Sowder's for many years. They bring in a very interesting and beautiful variety of stone. What I think are called "moon rocks" there (which remind me of swiss cheese) are my personal favorite. Two large ones have become the best central features of our property as fountains, the way the water goes through the mini-caverns in them is mesmerizing. And the songbirds constantly splash around on them. But back to the review. What definitely helps keep bringing us back: the owner is a very flexible and understanding person. Very clear to me he cares a lot about the craft and the people he talks to. It's sad to see a few negative reviews on here, and so I took the time to try and write this one to help out what we have experienced as good business.

Twice I've been behind one of their mowing crews in their company truck and been a witness to immature and dangerous behavior. Today they pulled out of a driveway in front of my truck and decided to drive slowly on the wrong side of the road into a blind hill. I watched as a couple of them looked back at my vehicle laughing as they continued to drive very slowly. They then swerved over just as they crested the hill to avoid oncoming cars. Next they sat at a stop sign for way longer than necessary while the same dbags watched laughing at me behind them. Obviously, sowders employs some of the best and brightest. I sure wouldn't want people like that taking care of my property.

Do NOT use this company for hardscaping ever! They do NOT warranty their work. They put in pavers and retaining walls in 2013. The project was graded incorrectly causing a serious drainage issue. The retaining walls collapsed in 2015. They repaired them a couple of years after the install free of charge. They are now collapsing again. Now in 2019 they want to charge me upwards of $6,000 to repair about 40 feet of retaining wall that is 30 inches high. Bad company, owner is hard to work with and defensive and they are not timely to return calls. RETAINING WALLS ARE MEANT TO LAST. STRIKE 3 SOWDERS. BUYER BEWARE.
