We ve been working with Jay and his crew since we moved into our new home and could not be happier. Their weekly service is prompt and excellent and our yard always looks well groomed. Im very happy I went with Jay and his crew. My backyard was taking water from all of my neighbors and flooding significantly after every rain, rendering it useless for days at a time. Jay was able to come up with a solution at a very competitive price. He even honored his original quote, despite needing to change some things around after some things were discovered under my yard. And another during heavy rain, while the crew was only halfway through finishing the project (you can see theres some flooding in the area that wasnt graded yet, but the rest is dry). The communication between the office manager and the owner is off the charts. They respond right away. Got a quote really quickly and they were able to the job right away weather permitting. I wanted something fixed at the end of the job and it was remediated no questions asked. Jay even came back to water my plants :) Customer service is top notch.

Spectacular service and work, above and beyond! We found A Cut From Above after they had done basement waterproofing projects for neighbors on our street who praised them, and I am so glad that we found them. It was an excellent experience, from start to finish, working with Jay and his team. They are responsive, fast (started the next day! finished in less time than the estimate!), explain the work being done, not at all pushy, and very skilled. The attention to detail and craftsmanship showed throughout their work. Our backyard was flooding after heavy rain, and water was flowing into the basement through the window wells. A Cut From Above diagnosed the problem and installed two dry wells and drainage system to divert the water and connected the gutters to the drainage. They also regraded the land, cleaned and repaired our gutters, sealed and covered the wind wells, and cleaned up an accumulation of years of leaves around the perimeter of our yard. Our window well which was flooding the most was under a wooden deck, and they neatly removed the wood from the deck to access it and put it back. Grass that was removed in the front yard was neatly removed to dig a trench for piping, and then patched back in. Everything was cleaned up nicely. There has not been a heavy rainstorm since this work was done, but I cant imagine a different or better solution, and A Cut From Above has a lot of experience to know what to do - so Im confident well be in good shape come the next heavy rain.

A good friend recommended this Company to me. I contacted their office and the owner Jay came to my home. I advised him I wanted new front steps. He took measurements and was very professional and told me I would receive an estimate. The following day I was surprised to notice that the job would be done with labor and material at a good price. I agreed and he and his workers arrived very early and stayed until the job was completed. While at work I was able to watch them work non stop on my ring camera. In addition, the yard presented several design challenges, We were determined to make it lovely space but had to meet our budget. We moved into a house in Nutley that had a ton of overgrowth and old dead leaves all over the backyard. Jay (I assume the owner) came out and walked the property with us then emailed a quote within a day, and it was very reasonable for everything we needed done. When they came back for the work Jay came with 2 guys and walked the property again confirming the scope of work with us and them. They took care of everything (going above and beyond without question) and quietly left. During the initial consult Jay said they needed half of the payment at the start, but he didn t ask for it when they came back. Instead I got a text with Zelle info or other payment option and an email a little later that day. We will use them for our landscaping from now on!

I first used A Cut From Above for snow removal. I was so satisfied with Juan that I asked him to do some fixing up in my backyard and landscaping in my front yard. I needed sod in the back and wood chips and bushes in the front. I also wanted my backyard spruced up. Juan recommended first power washing my fence and paving stones. I thought I needed new paving stones but Juan suggested that I have the current paving power washed, and removed to make the ground underneath more level which he completed. So Ive been using A cut from above for my maintenance for a few months now, and Im never disappointed with the work that Jay and his crew does. More recently they put down sod in my backyard. Before doing so he made sure to explain all that putting down sod entails to ensure that I do not waste my money because it takes a lot of work to adequately maintain. After explaining the pros and cons, he laid the sod and set up my sprinkling system with timer which he did not have to do but he did because he cares about his work and about his clients. I will continue to use a cut from above.

The only thing I would say in terms of a potential con is that Juan and his team are not mind readers. If you dont know what you want, like I didnt, its important for you to be present while the work is done so you can see and direct any changes. Our condo community s landscaping was sadly in need of attention it had become overgrown and neglect over time had taken a toll. After getting some estimates our President of the HOA said he thought A Cut Above in Bloomfield would be the best choice - the estimate was reasonable and what they agreed to do sounded good What we learned during the extended day and a half they were here was that Jay and his crew are also a cut above! First they listened to what it was we wanted to see happen . our desire to have overgrown shrubbery, the flower beds and sad looking growth that was a menace to getting around cleaned up as much as possible. We found out how pleasant they all were and very hard workers. We also spoke about where the critical needs were and what could wait for the spring. They took great pride in all they did. We look forward to next season!
