Revision to my last review. I thought I was posting a five star review but it set as a one star. We have used Cedar County twice already and we are having them come back for round three. Its hard to please this retired Senior Public Works Inspector but thats exactly what Cedar County Landscaping has done. Friendly and knowledgeable crews and helpful staff in the office.

Picked up some plants last week and was back today for more. They are just starting out as they purchased this nursery from the previous owners. They have a good selection of really good plants and are adding more as they go. Very friendly and super helpful. They have it really looking good.

I had Cedar County Landscaping out to install a retaining wall so the dirt would stop eroding away from my driveway. They were booked out a good amount of time like any quality company is these days, and they gave me as much of a heads up on that as possible. Once they came out they got the work done quickly and with high quality, I expect the retaining wall will last many decades. The process was very smooth, reasonable, and I will be going to them again for my landscaping needs.

Nader has serviced our property since Cedar County complete the sprinkler installation and landscape redesign 5 years ago. Nader is professional, timely, personable and provides incredible service.

Cedar County Landscape did our landscape installation. Neder, one of the landscapers we with worked with, did an excellent job and made sure we would be happy with the results. Some errors were made before Neder arrived but he came in and corrected things to be right. Neder did really quality work, was tidy and cleaned up, and provided information and ways to care for our investments knowledgably and willingly. Ulises, Neders boss, also did a great job making sure what we needed was taken care of.

We scheduled an appointment, they showed up - and they showed up on time; Dylan was professional, listened well, made excellent suggestions, and left us a very nicely detailed estimate; the price was very fair and we decided to hire them; Arturo and his crew showed up - and they showed up on time; they proceeded to do a complete and professional job...no surprises! Cedar County Landscaping was fantastic. We needed to completely redo our backyard lawn and the front lawn needed some TLC. After a week, our front lawn is looking extremely healthy and green and we are excited to see how the backyard grass comes in for summer gatherings. Ive used Cedar County multiple times for irrigation modifications and maintenance; always great service, very professional staff. I would highly recommend them for any landscaping needs. I am going to use them to grade my yard before putting down sod as well. After grading the front yard myself with mixed results Im bringing in the professionals for the back yard!

I hired Cedar County Landscaping to come out and do a landscaping project at my house in March 2020. From the start, the staff was very responsive. After a visit from a project manager, we received an estimate on the costs within a couple of days. On the day of the project, the field team arrived on time and completed the work in a timely manner. Upon completion, the team leader made sure I was ok with the project and he went over what we needed to do to care for the plants. This project was not cheap, but this is not my area of expertise, so I felt it was money well spent. I also new the importance of taking care of the new plants and got to work doing so. We had 8 plants total planted. After about 1 month, we noticed that one of our plants was not thriving. No matter what we did. All of the other plants around it were doing well, but this plant was dying. I wanted to give it another month to see if it would come back, but it did not. The plant was dead. I called Cedar County Landscaping to inquire about a warranty to learn that they do not warranty their plants. I was a little frustrated at first, but once I started talking to Kristin at Cedar County Landscaping and learned why this was so, I understood more. And, in fairness, it is noted in the contract I signed, but I did not remember that. Kristin, and the Management at Cedar River Landscaping still offered to replace the plant and have one of their team members come out to my house to replace it. I really appreciate that they were willing to go the extra mile to provide excellent customer service. I would highly recommend using Cedar County Landscaping and if I ever have more any other landscaping projects I will definitely give them call.

Requested boulders for backyard landscape and was pleased with size of rocks and placement. Size of rocks was discussed at time of bid they are not huge but good size for what I had in mind. Also, had gravel placed along side of house and am very happy with the result and price.

We had a Cedar County Landscaping install our irrigation system in both front and back yards on a newly constructed home on 1 acre. The entire system was under warranty at the time the original issue was reported. We had a leaking sprinkler head in our front yard that was creating a huge puddle of mud and killing the grass around it. They came out and replaced the sprinkler head, but it still leaked. They then tested the system and determined that, because the sprinkler head was located on a slope in the yard, gravity was causing the water to leak. They suggested that the fix for this was to install sprinkler heads with check valves to prevent the leak, which they expected me to pay for and was going to cost over $400 per sprinkler head with parts and labor despite the fact that this system was under warranty. So, clearly Cedar County lacks the expertise to know when the sprinkler heads they install are going to leak and dont know when to install the correct equipment. Instead, theyll attempt to convince you that, somehow, its not their fault that they installed a system that was not appropriate for the yard. We also used Cedar County Landscaping for edging and weeding every other week, and once were were under an annual contract, they showed up sometimes and not others. Weve even seen the landscapers show up, sit in their car for a few minutes, then drive away without doing anything. Bottom line: look elsewhere for your landscaping needs - seriously.

I have been using Cedar County Landscaping for over 3 years. They always come on time weekly and go beyond EVERYTIME. The amazing employees are always very friendly and professional. The team from Cedar County Landscaping went above and beyond to install a gravel barrier around my foundation to keep mice out (turns out they will burrow shockingly far down). The result looked great and was exactly to spec. The team addressed minor hiccups flawlessly, and even helped me store the removed soil for a future garden bed and cleaned up the hedge adjacent to the job site so everything looked extra good at the end. Would highly recommend!

We were having a hard time finding someone to do some work for us. It was a relatively small area that needed to be leveled out and we didnt have the equipment to do it ourselves. We reached out to four different companies and either the price was astronomical, they were too busy with other larger projects to do ours, or they just never showed up. Cedar County responded to our request a within a few days and had someone out here to give an estimate within a week. They were very kind had no problem taking on the job and the price was very reasonable. They did great work and we will definitely be using them again!

We had an amazing experience working with Cedar County! We were having a hard time finding anyone to even call me back about planting some larger trees on a sloped part of our yard. Not only did they pick up the phone when I called the first time but also emailed/text reminders, on time to both the consultation and install and were nothing but professional throughout the entire process. We have had Cedar County to our house multiple times and they have always been amazing! They re efficient, reasonable, and do an excellent job. They ve done everything for us from artificial turf installation, tree removal, planting new shrubs, mulch/gravel refresh, recommending what plants will thrive in our space, and aerating/reseeding our lawn. They re the best! We even had them build a rock box for our kids (similar to a sand box but with gravel) to play in!

From showing me the operation of the zones to the winterizing of the zones and how to do this. My wife had 2 flower beds sprinkled as well. Cedar County installed two sets of stone/boulder steps for us, as well as placing some other boulders in our yard. The communication process, estimates, and billing all went smoothly. Workers were professional, polite, and cleaned up after themselves very well. They listened to our original plans and then listened as we adjusted. They made it happen how we asked them to. Some very incidental damage occurred, but it was understandable, and more importantly, it was fixed perfectly. They want happy customers, and it shows. Foreman communicated very well, and the office stayed in touch during the project, too. Im sure there are less expensive outfits out there, but the value matched up for what we paid and the service that we got. A+ on communication. A+ on quality. Thank you!

Be careful - this company WILL refuse responsibility for damage theyve caused to your property. Reply to ownership: The back of my car was NOT damaged the morning before you guys came out. I just installed a backup camera on the car and would have noticed the paint scratched down to bare metal. The day following your service, it had numerous vertical, parallel scratches, some down to bare metal, on the rear hatch. The side of the car next to a hedge. There were hedge trimmings on the ground when I noticed the damage Thursday. You blamed it on a neighbor walking by. A) thats not a foot path. Its in a corner, away from foot traffic. B) somebody accidently scratching a car when theyre walking by it doesnt leave numerous vertical, parallel, even scratch lines. C) You told me over the phone that your guy used manual clippers to trim the hedge. Now youre saying he wasnt within 10 of it. These two statements cannot both be true. Your guy did it. He lied to you about it. You refuse to even consider the possibility of responsibility without surveillance footage, because you know nobody in their right mind has a surveillance camera set up to film a hedge and the back of their 20 year old car. Im not assuming it was your employee because thats the easiest person to push blame off into. Im assuming it was your guy because the timeline and every piece of physical evidence points to it being the truth. Thats fine if you wont willingly take responsibility for it. Well take it to court.

I originally chose to have my landscaping project done with Cedar County because of how much more reasonable their price was compared to other company s estimates and because they offered more such as installing a drip system to water my new plants. They were also great about responding to my inquiries while I waited days and in one case weeks to hear back from other companies. On the day they were scheduled to do our work it was pouring rain and I was worried they d have to postpone, which would ve been totally understandable. However, they showed up on time and worked nearly 12 hours in the rain which was at some points pretty heavy. Not only did they work hard in the rain all day to get my project done, they did an absolutely excellent job and my project turned out exactly the way I had described it to them. I couldn t be more satisfied with their work ethic and with the final result. I wouldn t hesitate at all to recommend this company to anybody needing landscaping done.

Our backyard needed a great deal of work: weeding planting beds, tree pruning, vine removal etc. Cedar County Landscaping arrived on time, worked really hard, were very professional and transformed our once messy backyard into a lovely area once again. A crew from Cedar County Landscaping, Fernando and Renato, replaced an old wood retaining wall in our back yard with a concrete block one. Their hard work and attention to detail were impressive. We recently wrapped up a big backyard reno project with the team at Cedar County and couldnt be happier. We added three large block retaining walls, a french drain, new stamped concrete patio, new fence, fire pit, garden bed, rock digging box for our kids and plantings/landscaping and it turned out better than we could have imagined. They were quick to provide a quote and came back competitively priced with all other landscaping and contracting companies we had also talked with. They started the project on time, provided updates along the way and finished on time (not to mention our project was during the dead of winter and the team worked super hard in rough rain and windy conditions!). Ulyses was professional and had fantastic design ideas when we were stumped on which way to go. He visited on site multiple times to check the status of the project and was always available for questions. His foreman, Fernando, and his crew showed up bright and early and were so friendly and always took the time to answer our questions. They kept the work site very clean and always made sure to tidy up at the end of the day including leaf blowing/washing the driveway/etc. Their main office was always responsive to emails or phone calls and between all the additional items we added along the way they kept their invoicing straight and accurate. Dont hesitate to reach out for a quote from them for any backyard projects, they were fantastic!

We recently had Cedar County out to do a complete overhaul of our backyard. They ripped up the grass and installed artificial turf, took out all our trees and put in an evergreen privacy fence, installed a rock border of the new turf, aerated our front lawn and replaced a few bushes in the front yard. They were efficient, reasonably priced, and so easy to work with. Our yard looks amazing and we are so happy with the results!

Cedar County Landscaping did a beautiful job on our flagstone patio. They were the most professional company we contacted. They were on time for both the estimate and the work. They put everything in writing. On the work day, four men came and worked on our yard. In one day, they transformed a place where the grass did not grow into one that doubled our usable backyard. Cedar County built a retaining wall for me through my construction company. I provided a level line placed with a laser level. I stressed the importance of the wall being built level which would be a natural assumption regardless. We were building a fence immediately adjacent to the fence that would show a non-level condition. This was stressed to multiple supervisors. The wall has over two inches of fall in it as built. A workman like installation sees the blocks stacked point to point. This walls points are all askew significantly impacting the appearance. They failed to follow the manufacturer of the block instructions and the terms of the contract and failed to dig the blocks into the existing grade. They simply poured out gravel and started stacking blocks. They tried to walk away from the job without back filling with gravel or even dirt. The job is not complete until the wall has been properly filled in. Their payment policy is overly aggressive. They insist on payment the day they finish dissalowing time for inspection of the project and a reasonable time to assess. They finished while I was away from town and ran my CC unauthorized after agreeing to let me inspect when I returned. As a licensed contractor I find engaging with them to fraught with hazard and I would certainly not think it wise for the layperson to attempt business with them. I do not recommend.

They have winterized my sprinkler system for the last few years. Last year they found a broke pipe I was not aware of. They sent me pictures of the repair needed. Sent me a quote to fix the pipe. They repaired the break this spring. Very responsive and professional

Cedar County recently put in a retaining wall along our driveway, about 90 long. The estimate was done efficiently and professionally, and their quote was comparable to (or better than) two competing estimates. On both days of construction, the crew showed up on time and were polite and worked hard to get it done right. We re very happy with the end result, and we ll call them again if we have any other projects where we need a landscaping contractor.

The crew at Cedar County was super solid. On time and fair with their bid. On time and spot on with the amount of time, bark etc it would take to do our job. 3 members of their crew worked a full day to transform our sad / neglected yard into something to be very proud of. They did everything I asked them to and suggested several things (like additional edging / bark along my fence line) that I realized after they finished was a very good idea. Now I have less to mow and even less to weedeat. I will have them back again to help. Highly recommend.

Recently I hired Cedar County to design and complete an overhaul of my landscaping on the lake-side of my property. They did an excellent job and exceeded all expectations. The project manager and co-owner, Ulises, met with me, walked through ideas and outlined project costs associated with those ideas to come up with a detailed formal bid. Cedar County built a low retaining wall, spacious patio, removed overgrown mature landscaping and replanted with low-maintenance shrubs and trees. At my request, they sculpted a rather steep hill to allow another access point to a newly planted lawn below the hill and patio. I also needed an extensive irrigation upgrade that needed someone who knew what they were doing. All-in-all I m very happy with the outcome and excited to use the additional outdoor living space for the remainder of the summer and on nice, warm days in the future. I definitely recommend Cedar County for your landscape projects, big or small.

My lawn looks better than it has in 12 years. Ive always had weekly lawn service but Cedar County has my lawn more lush and deep green than ever. Theyre very professional and have done a great job pruning for me as well.

We had a large sport court project done this summer and reached out to several companies to do quotes for all the landscaping and artificial turf needed to complete the job. Cedar County came out to the job site 3 times to ensure their bid would hold no surprises down the road - which is always my concern. Not only did they finish the job without any over runs (rarely happens!) they went above and beyond to get the job done in time for a family event we had at the house. In the end I was left with a job that was professionally done, on time and on budget and I can say the employees went above and beyond to do the best job possible. I am planning to use them again!

We had a wonderful experience with Cedar County Landscaping and we love what they accomplished in our yard! Our yard was less than 2 years old and had very basic beds, trees and plants. We wanted to dress it up and make it sparkle while also creating some screening from neighbors - and they really delivered! We asked around to several companies for redoing our front walk way. With each inquiry we provided our budget as well, which wasnt that big. Of the four companies we sent inquiries to Cedar County was the only one that came back with an affordable option. The others just said they couldnt help us. Now we have a beautiful, safe, and level front walk way. They did a great job and kept us in the loop every step of the way. I would definitely do business with them again.

These guys are A+, no doubt about it. Bought a home earlier in the year that had to have the septic completely re-done - which meant tearing up the entire back yard. I contacted several landscaping companies to take a look/get estimates. I chose Cedar County Landscaping and I can confidently say I made the right choice. My field manager was Ulises, and his brother Reggie was the point man on the job - both these guys know their stuff and worked magic on my back yard. Before they started it looked terrible - totally uneven, a mixture of weeds/tall grass, rocks, mud, etc. They leveled everything out, all new top soil, added some wood borders and rock around the house and now Im happy to report I have a pristine park for a yard. Its beautiful.

First they had to correct deficiencies in the previous work, then continue with a complex pattern, and translate our thoughts into a hardscape reality. We have found their craftsmanship to be superior. The crew consistently arrived at the job site on time and worked diligently throughout the day. They solicited feedback and fielded our many questions to ensure the end product was as desired. All of the Cedar County Landscaping employees have been courteous and personable. Absolutely thrilled with our new backyard!! For years weve been trying to figure out what to do with our backyard, Cedar County Landscape listened to what we wanted and made it all come together. We changed landscaping, added synthetic turf, and had some cement poured and they handled it all. Weve always had drainage issues in our yard and since the work was completed, no more muddy paws on the dog. Very very happy!!

Ive had Cedar County Landscaping do my winter cleanup the last two years. This year I decided to also have them do maintenance of my yard. The crew that does the cleanup, ready for planting annuals and etc are a very hard working crew. I also had them remove the ivy from under my fir trees in my backyard last year. This is my second landscaping project with Cedar County Landscaping, and I couldnt be happier with the results. After meeting with Ulises and discussing the various issues regarding my property, he designed a beautiful backyard with synthetic turf, trellises, plant and tree placement, LED lighting, and flagstone pathways.
