Been left heavily out of pocket using this company shambles from the start turned up 2 weeks late with no warning then what happened the next two months was horrendous they proceeded to bodge my whole garden with brand new dying grass ill fitting sleepers and the slabbing was the worst iv seen they never used a spacer at all chipped most of the slabs they thought this was ok Dan agreed that the work was not good at all and agreed to come back the next day and start to rectify it he disappeared and never came back leaving my garden in a terrible state not only that he left my front drive with all the materials and rubbish two years later and still not sorted it no back garden no front garden and wont give my money back avoid this company and dont give any money up front his workers will give a sob story about needing to be paid for the weekend dont fall for it there scamming you the workers would stand around chatting for most of the day doing nothing then wonder why a 2 week job is in to the 8th week with no end in sight cowboy builders at its finest theres plenty of good landscaping companys around the area like Carrol and son or poppys avoid sticks and stones like the plague

Initially contacted Dan from Sticks and Stones on February 2023 about landscaping the garden. Everything was good,but the communication was a bit haphazard. This was the first red flag I grew a bit disillusioned with Dan,and because the contract with him was fairly chunky,I decided to not go ahead with it. Im not comfortable handing a deposit over,but Dan Insisted,so I gave him £500.....BIG MISTAKE. Ive chased him up numerous times,no luck. Its not as if Dan ignores your texts, [ up until the last one ]. Its just that he doesnt want to give my deposit back. I know things happen,a lot of times its out of your control,but come on....its been over a year now. I was caught out with his Award winning achievements.,Hes even got a photo of it up on WhatsApp profile. I automatically thought,that this award was from an affiliated body,Gardening,landscaping,Horticultural....It was from a body recognising Black business achievement. Whats that got to do with landscaping or Gardening !!!! Even if Dan had been straight up with me and said that he never had the money and could only afford to give me Half back,I would have written off the rest,at least thats something,it shows intent,it shows some integrity,....But nothing. I didnt want to write this review. I Quite like Dan,but what hes done to me is totally unacceptable and I want others to not go through this. AVOID

Sticks and stones done a great job with our garden. We had a rotten decking area which was taken down filled with ALOT of hard-core to build it to a safe level, its now a beautiful patio area which is also alot safer for our children, this was a tough job for the lads and even carried on through all the cold weather we had! Replaced all fence panels and laid new lawn which again looks great. Very pleased with the job, reliable, tidy and hardworking. Would definitely recommend thanks again.

Sticks and Stones brought my dreams to life, as we sat down and discussed my ideas, a design was drawn and very good and competitive quote. They are very professional with excellent communication skills. I had Porcelain slabs, artificial grass, fencing, stairs and rail slippers installed and it was done to perfection. I STRONGLY RECOMMEND

It s saddens me that I have to write this review but this company has failed to turn up after almost 8 weeks of promising to cut my front and back lawns in addition to this I wanted a quote for fencing.

Used Dan and his team late last year to completely redesign my garden, as the old garden was split between three uneven tiers and not really suitable for entraining and outdoor activates. Dan was very accommodating with my ideas and also imputed many suggestions along the way to enhance the overall result. Garden project was completed within timescale and budget and very happy with outcome. Dan and his team arrived to complete phase two of the project just after Easter, which was to paint all existing fence panels, design, construct and finish a bar/shelter and one or two other little garden jobs. Extremely happy with the overall garden Dan and his team have now completed, this despite one or two delays (due to wet weather and vehicle issues). Dan did go out of his way to provide a better quality bar/shelter that we had originally agreed, as he believed the overall bar outside bar experience would be much better. I have to agree with Dan on his vision and suggestions and also very thankful that the extra cost of materials for this better shelter was not past onto me, as Dan and I had previously agreed a fee, this despite the cost of raw materials now far more expensive dur to the cost of living crisis. I can t rate Dan and his team highly enough. I called Dan to quote for the job and he came that same day. I received the quote (which was a really fair price) two days later. I found Dan to be really professional and trustworthy so didn t hesitate to book him. During the time the work was being completed I asked for some extra work and a few changes had to be made. Dan and his team were so accommodating. The team who completed the work were a pleasure to have around. So friendly, happy to answer any questions and worked incredibly hard. A big thank you to the team at Sticks & Stones whove transformed my garden into an oasis this week and to the envy of the street. Its so beautiful! I found this company to be very reasonably smd competitively priced, with no cuts on quality or service. Dan came out to quote and advise, and I got exactly what I asked for but looks better than Id imagined. I had 6 of the team work on my garden over 3 days and they persevered despite the rain to get the job done. They were so polite, tidied up after themselves and I honestly wouldnt hesitate to recommend them their services. Thank you so much lads!

Despite being very busy they managed to fit me, talk me through plans and requote pricing after I changed my mind a few times. Didnt show up for the appointment to give a quote, even though they text to confirm the appointment in the morning. Rang them a few times and no answer. I would have appreciated if they were honest and said we dont need you job as we have plenty of work. Next time keep your word to people it makes a big difference

I had a rough idea of what I wanted and called Sticks & Stones for a quote and design advice. Best decision i could of made. My garden was small and dingy and unused, so with a small plan i let them work their magic all i can say is what a transformation my garden is unrecognisable. Its gone from a concrete jungle to a show room garden. My neighbours have now got garden envy lol. Im in love with my new garden and spending every given moment i can out there. The outdoors is now my new indoors. They guys were friendly and professional always, and very tidy I literally couldnt fault them. Even down to little finishing touches of suggesting stones at the edges that I would of never thought of, made a big difference. My garden was worth every penny. Thank you guys you are amazing. I cannot rate this company highly enough. Dan and his team are absolutely excellent and we are thrilled with our garden transformation. I called a few companies who I was quite disappointed with as they didnt respond to messages or didnt turn up to quote. I found Sticks and Stones via Instagram and liked the style of garden they produced. Dan came around to the house and was courteous and actively listened to what I had in mind and came up with ideas I hadnt thought of. I liked the way he knew his stuff with regards to the slope of the garden and retaining walls. I asked for a quote for worst case scenario and he delivered the quote as he said. The price was reasonable and we were happy to accept. As you can imagine for this time of year, he was really busy but kept us informed of when he expected to be there and what would happen. When work started the lads were incredible. In the best possible way, we hardly knew they were there! They were friendly and courteous and I enjoyed having them around! They worked solidly throughout the day and I dont know how they managed to get everything done in such a relatively short period of time. I must admit we were lucky with the weather but even if it had of been raining, I never had a doubt that the team were there to get a job done, Im just thrilled with the result! Dan came most days to check on the work and ensure high standards, always checking in that we were happy. We did change plans half way through as we had an odd patch of land that we decided to patio. Even though that was more effort and time, again I couldnt fault the team in how quickly they got everything done. We also had an asbestos shed which complicated things but fortunately we had a company to remove it to keep things on schedule. The lads were also helpful with tips on how to look after the new turf and we were all getting a bit precious about the new grass at the end! Settling up was fantastic too. Dan was really honest and removed items that the team hadnt done (we didnt need the concrete base for the fence and the asbestos guys removed the shed) and charged fairly for additional work, i.e another skip and more slabs. As mentioned, I cant rate these guys highly enough, really really chuffed and overjoyed with our new garden! Thank you all so much.
