I ve used Chris and his crew numerous times now. From our initial build landscaping, to irrigating changes and updates. Professional service, fair prices, and beautiful native plants you can t find from the big box retailers. They ve always done a fantastic job and strive for customer satisfaction. If you re unhappy with the smallest detail, let Chris know (always reachable) and they ll make it right! Can t say enough about this business. Office staff is great as well! Definitely a customer for life! Update: Had them come out to clean up and refresh the mulch in the beds lately while I was out of town for business. Unfortunately, the wrong color mulch was put down (brown, not black and a lot of it). All it took was a text to Chris saying that and they made it right! No arguments, no back and forth. We ll take care of it . And they did at no additional cost. Their dedication to customer service is top notch. Still a lifelong customer! Update 2 . Had them come out and remove all the much and replace with matching rock. Fair price, prompt service and fantastic results! Chris and his crew at HOT are my go-to company for all things landscaping!

On April 18, 2024 I received rapid and excellent service from Heart of Texas Landscape and Irrigation. Their representative arrived on time and had the necessary replacement irrigation controller on his truck. He lost no time in removing my old one and wiring up the new one. We ve worked with Chris and his team on several personal and business projects over the years. We ve chosen HOT because of the overall value and responsiveness. They show up when scheduled. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY! They charge $160 for a back flow test, when other companies charge $65. I failed my test and they quoted me $340 to fix it when other companies quoted me $160 for a test AND repair. This company is an overpriced scam. Negative

HOT landscaping did our front yard and irrigation system when we built our house about 3 years ago and we used them again to install our back yard irrigation, build a raised planter along the back of the pool, add two drain systems, add some trees and plants and put in a drip system and add pea gravel for our raised garden area. Chris and Chris and really the entire crew were extremely responsive to questions and wanted to make sure we were happy with the work. Without reservation, I highly recommend them for your landscaping needs!

I ve had others work on our irrigation system, but Antonio/Heart of Texas is the only one who has it all working well and covering the lawn. Vivian I m the office is very nice and helpful as well. I highly recommend based on responsiveness, professionalism, and high-quality results.

Called Heart of Texas because my sprinklers system wasn t operating properly. Antonio Deleon was the technician who arrived for the repair and had us up and going in less than an hour. Antonio was extremely polite and professional throughout his visit, and it was very evident that he knew his tradecraft well. I will be requesting him for any future repairs.

I had them design my landscape both front and back yard and it was professionally designed and workmanship carried out excellently.

Read the REAL reviews. Avoid being strong armed. They charged me over the phone for backflow testing. Don t think the guy ever even came and looked at my system. They failed me saying my device was leaking and it wouldn t open at the air inlet. I assume they didn t think I d check it for myself. There s no issue. Inlet opens. No leak present. I got it checked by another business who passed it with no issue (because they re honest). Clearly this company was trying to get me to pay for a grossly overpriced repair . Such a small annual maintenance request, I can only imagine how they re ripping off clients with bigger projects. And if this is not standard business practice for you guys, I highly suggest you have a talk with that service technician you sent me.

Purchased a new home with landscaping by Heart of Texas. Less than 2 years later, everything is dead, including the tree. An arborist came out and told me the tree should never had been planted in the first place because it was so damaged. I called Heart of Texas to see if maybe they could do something. The lady was rude and said they dont guarantee anything. She then said she would have someone call me back but they never did. Looking around my neighborhood now I can see a lot of trees are dead or have been removed. This company just does the easiest thing and then takes no accountability.

Tyler did a terrific job taking care of all out lawn care needs. Quick amd fast. Was able to complete the deck drains right on time for our pool deck to be installed. They seem shady in the way they do quotes and pricing. I cannot recommend this company to anyone! -- And $100 charge for just a simple pvc piping leak Estimate??? Get out of Texas with that b.s.!! --- (Ohh, and now they are stalking me. I may have to report them.) -- I just saw complaints through BBB against this company too. -- Seems they have a history. -- Regretfully, I didnt check their Reviews first... They did a great job fixing our back flow and sprinklers. The technicians were very polite and helpful and made sure we understood how the system worked for the future. Would have given 5 stars but I did have to reach out more than once to schedule (gave over 2 weeks for them to respond before reaching out again).

Tyler was an absolute delight to work with! He was so patient with us as we went back and forth trying to make up our minds about what we wanted done. He was always very professional and very responsive to my text and calls. Sergio, the Project Supervisor, was on site several time and also was a very good communicator. PRAISE for the hard workers Tyrone, David, Ricardo and Juan!!! If I could give this team more than 5 stars I would. They were so respectful of our property and did an outstanding job! At the end of each day they cleaned up, put the fence back up, made sure all the gates were closed and even told me they were leaving for the day. Before they left on the final day of the project, I was called outside to make sure everything was to my satisfaction and that was followed up by Sergio coming by to check on the finished project as well. HIGHLY RECOMMEND Heart of Texas.

After having a pool built, we hired Heart of Texas to repair irrigation, replace sod and install new lighting and trees. They were fantastic. Extremely pleased with the service received from Heart of Texas Landscape. Our advisor, Chris was always on time, courteous and extremely knowledgeable. He worked closely with us to landscape our backyard with trees and hedges. He timed the planting in order to select the optimum time to deliver and put the trees in the ground. But the service did not stop there -- he followed up and responded immediately to emails and phone calls. Its six months later now and he still checks on our trees whenever he is in the neighborhood. This is the kind of service you can expect from Heart of Texas!

I had a custom flower bed added to my yard, and the end project was exactly as I had imagined. They completed the job in only a day, cleaned up after themselves, and even replanted a tree I wanted to keep from the old plot. Definitely will use them again for my next project!

Terrible service! Our HOA has been using Heart of Texas for our common area landscaping. They did fairly well for a while but the last two or three years theyve ignored multiple requests to complete work on our front entry. Now theyve stopped mowing some of the areas that they are contracted to do. Very untrustworthy for the price. It seems like if you complain the owner instructs the crew to do it worse. Im starting to think they just dont want our business. Im the current president of the HOA and Ive been trying to work this out for about two months now but like I said it just gets worse. Very vindictive people at this company. STAY AWAY!

Team arrived as scheduled (actually earlier but that was perfect). Did the job as contracted and performed a superior cleanup as the irrigation system was installed after a complete landscaping had been accomplished. You could not tell that the landscaping (other than the sod) had been disturbed. Great job

We recently had our front yard landscaping totally removed and replaced. We had tried to work with 2 companies prior to calling Heart of Texas Landscape. The other companies either didnt return calls or came one day to start removal and then never returned. This had gone on for over a year. We contacted Heart of Texas and received a phone call and email almost immediately. Shortly thereafter, Ben scheduled with us to meet and discuss our needs. He kept in touch via email letting us know the status of the drawing/plan they were working on and clarifying any specific ideas we mentioned. Once agreed upon, the work started and Chris supervised the project. He kept us informed via email and phone calls letting us know the planting schedule and planned work each day. He was most conscientious and very detailed. His crew was amazing and our project was completed on time in short order. He followed up with us afterwards to make sure we didnt have any questions or concerns. We are so pleased with our front yard results and the ease of working with this company we are planning on adding new landscape to our back yard/pool area this year. I cant say enough about how pleased we are with this company and the people we worked with. Superb all around!

When I bought my house I called heart of Texas to come out because I wanted some landscaping work done on my yard along with some permanent fixtures added to my rock garden. The individual who came out to give me an estimate was very nice and spoke to me at length about what he could do. Then he told me that he was going to put some different ideas together and he would email me his ideas along with his estimate. I waited patiently for his email and it never came. Finally a month had passed and then one day the same guy who came out originally from heart of Texas showed up at my house and apologized for not getting back to me, he told me he wanted to take another look at my backyard so he could finish his estimate. I accepted his apology and allowed him access to my backyard so he could finish his estimate. After about 5 minutes I went to join him in the backyard and he was gone and Ive never heard back from him again. Im not angry , I just find it baffling and kind of funny. However I would not recommend heart of Texas.

Outstanding work from HOT!! They were the original landscapers on my original build and additional projects since we moved it. Chris worked with us on original design plan, and changes. All other work has been excellent! On time, on budget and excellent work! 6 Stars!

This company has poor communication skills and places poor products. We had our yard done by this company a month ago. We were not very pleased with lack of communication from them regarding a time frame. Always an excuse about the rain putting them behind but yet they can not bother to call and let you know, they just show up one day. I also had to notify them about plants that they placed. They had Blackspot and yet they didnt seem to notice it on the plants. They came and replaced them but they replaced them with different plants and they have powdery mildew on them and I have another type of plant that they placed and leaves are falling off and it is sick. The others have new growth but this one looks sickly. I have sent them an email with photos with no response. They also just dug holes and placed them in them without any dirt! I had to let them know as well. At first, they placed a bunch of riverrock around the house with no plants!! I had to send a text and say, hey, where are the plants?. I think they forgot and tried to play it off. We requested St Augustine for the sod and there were several spots that had large squares of Bermuda in it and there is a ton of Nutsedge grass mixed in as well. They tried to say it came from my neighbor but It would not have such a large amount in a matter of days after it was placed. I was basically blown off and they refused to acknowledge that it came in the sod that they laid. I have since had to go out and buy new plants and spray to hopefully keep the mildew from getting onto my healthy plants that were already in my yard. Obviously I can not and do not recommend this company as they do not take responsibility for their work. I do have photos and text for my proof. F/U Sir, It was not determined by the BBB that ;you did everything, they just forwarded your response to us. The fact is that you started the work on 6/6 and within a few days we started to text Chris about the grass situation and then the original sick plants., which We then left for vacation for a week. So when we left, yes the new plants and others you planted looked ok., which is when the original letter was written to you. On the 24th upon our return, I sent Chris an email with photos saying that I think the other plants are sick as well to which I got no response or follow up. So you can not say that you did everything to communicate after the work was done. If you would like me to forward you the email, please let me know which address to send to or ask Chris to forward it to you. So no, at this time, I will not pull down my review. I have spent my own money to replace the sick plants with new ones and spray so my good plants do not get sick. I also know that the plants did not contract anything from my existing plants as they were fine prior and even Chris said they looked fine so please do not try to say it came from my plants.

Called this company to get a bid on landscape maintenance for our HOA and arranged to meet a rep on-site to go over the property. Was told at the time they would submit a bid early the next week. Crickets. Eventually followed up about a week later and was told, ...sorry for not getting back with you. Finally had a chance to sit down with managers this morning and we dont have the available time to service the property. Not wanting to submit a bid or feeling like the property isnt a fit is fine. No issues there. But the lack of communication is problematic, not to mention the disingenuous nature of the response. Obviously, very skeptical they just happened to sit down to discuss the property the same day I followed up. Regardless, it doesnt take much to simply reach back out and say, ...upon further review were just not a fit... Bottom line: If timely communications and a company delivering on what they say they will do is important just be aware it might be a challenge here. Perhaps it was a one-time thing, but in looking at other reviews it would appear there are others with similar experiences.

When I had originally called they said they couldnt help because my warranty was up. After a frustrating call, the boss himself came, after hours no less, and decided to help for free. Their help is greatly appreciated, and I would highly recommend them. Truly a five-star experience.

Over a year ago my sprinklers were installed. One year warrenty. everything works fine, however... sprinkler heads VERY close to concrete cant put anything around them to prevent grass from growing. Also when hole cut into brick for line to sprinkler unit in garage, they didnt even bother to seal it with caulking. They left tools behind etc BUT worst problem is they installed sprinkler head on MY NEIGHBORS PROPERTY. I just noticed this, as my neighbor pointed it out. it is at least 4 feet over. NOT HAPPY AS THIS CAN CAUSE TITLE ISSUE. I do not recommend. ***All of the negative posts are here are absolutely true, once they are done and get your money its over. they rush the work and it is shotty.

They stunk. 3 times they had to come back out to properly fix a leaking water line. Guy told me nothing I can do about it. Was a total jerk. When I said fine, I will get someone else, he proceeded to replace the whole line (10 ft vs 2ft) like he should have done to begin with. 3 diff times I had to leave work. Will never use them again. Also, never got a quote for what I am sure would have been a couple of thousand dollar job for them.

Cris and his team at HOT have completed several jobs for me in past. All of them completed on time and look great. Chris will ensure all is completed per agreements and owner is satisfied with the results. Cant go wrong here.....

Heart of Texas worked closely with us to design and install the landscaping and sprinkler system for our new home. Once we finalized the designs, the Heart of Texas team moved in and quickly installed the sprinkler system, built all the beds, planted trees, shrubs and other plants, and sodded the yard. They also provided training for the new sprinkler system and been very responsive to questions I ve had. I m looking forward to working with them again for future landscaping enhancements we have planned.

Man, I can t wait to leave my review. Been a month long process that s still not done for an irrigation system and backyard sod install. I ll be back to give all the details of why this is a terrible company to choose.

Since I posted earlier today, slamming HOTL, they have responded and corrected my problem. So I must retract my bad press and give praises to this awesome company. I give 5 stars for capabilities and 1/2 star for initial customer satisfaction.

Sadly our builder used this company to setup our sprinklers and sod. Much like other reviews the follow up service is very poor and when I was able to finally talk to someone they were belittling and rude. My overall experience with this company has brought me to a point where I will go out of my way to avoid anything to do with them and discourage others from using them in the future.

I have waited a bit of time before writing this review as I really couldnt believe that such a well known, highly recommended company would have such poor customer service. I called and scheduled for an estimate on my existing sprinkler system. The technician (for lack of a better word) arrived a day late (my appointed day was Thursday, he arrived Friday). The man stayed about 5 minutes and said that the company would send an estimate by email ( he did not ask for my email by the way nor did the receptionist that I initially made the appointment with). Needless to say I have never received an estimate and at this point it wouldnt matter if I did as I would never use this company and will never recommend them to anyone. So highly disappointed.

These folks installed my system summer of 2013. Office help were courteous and salesman was charming but not gifted at running a crew or problem solving. The plan has left my yard with drenched moldy areas and burned dry spots. The job was poorly done but it is over with and I am using another company to make adjustments and maintain my system. PS. These guys charge a lot.

Unfortunately our builder contracts with this company to put in sprinkler systems/yards. Office staff nice, techs are rude, nobody returns phone calls. Basically once theyve done they work they dont care.
