Having had a substantial fence pushed over recently because of heavy storms, I asked Gary to see what he could do about it. I also wanted him to extend a patio that he laid about 2 years ago with such professionalism that I felt no need to look elsewhere to get both jobs done - not only promptly and with great attention to detail - but because Gary is a valuable source of knowledge too on the practicalities. I have absolutely no hesitation in saying that Bolton Turf & Landscapes are reliable, energetic, and extremely good at what they do but always put the customer first and I wouldnt go anywhere else. The fence has been sorted out for another decade at least & the small patio looking forward to receive a shed! Job done, as they say.

The job completed by these guys turned out to be way more difficult than what was originally expected but still done in a single day and with great accuracy, cant recommend Gary and his hardworking team more!

Work undertaken: Replacement of patio, cleaning existing patio, improving and repairs to existing patio area. Professional and responsive to a change to the original planned work. Beautiful patio reusing and integrating our existing slabs and similar additional slabs (sourced by Gary). Removal , repair and improvements to paths making the whole patio area much better. An incident happened few weeks ago I was taking my children to school and this company s employer had intentionally blocked the footpath with his motor bike . I didn t have access to walk around as I had my baby in a push chair. I asked him politely to move his bike and he ignored me, I asked again as I thought maybe he didn t hear me as he had his helmet on . He turned around to his colleague who was in the truck taking the turf down and said did you understand what she said because I didn t they laughed at me .I was so upset and shocked by this asked again for him to move . He point blank refused and said what are you going to do about it ?? Whilst all this was going on another mum who was also walking her children to school (who is white ) came up behind us she took her phone out and took pictures told both guys s she had heard how rude they were being and how could they not understand as I was speaking English , she told him to move his bike and he did . I have reported this incident to the police , they have confirmed this is a hate crime and are investigating . I have also let my neighbourhood watch know , as we are a close knit community and we do not have tolerance for this behaviour. It s very unfortunate that a company of this size can employ uneducated people like this .

My garden was a complete mess and over the last couple of years I d given up on it. Gary came round, listened to our ideas and gave plenty of suggestions of his own. I told Gary how much I wanted to spend overall and without cutting any corners, we came in well under that. The team at Bolton Turf and landscapes were at my house for 2 1/2 weeks and you could set your clock by them. Bang on time every day. They finished the overall project early despite multiple setbacks along the way and every single bit of British weather in the book. Lovely bunch of guys, nothing ever seems too much. I have recently moved to the area and the garden was left in a poor state with very little in it. So I decided to have it completely re-modelled. My Daughter found Bolton Turf and looked at all the gardens they had changed and we decided to get a quote for the landscaping work. They did a very good job and my garden now looks so much better. Gary and his team did a full garden renovation for us and it has been brilliant. The team work really hard in all weather conditions to do the best possible job. It involved replacing a patio, creating a second patio and walkway, replacing turf with high quality artificial, barking the borders and creating a space for the trampoline to sit. Finally they replaced 4 aging fence panels to ensure it the finish wasnt let down by an eye sore. Green thumb recommended Bolton turf to lay a new lawn. In time the lawn turned yellow and a fungal problem was diagnosed. After several treatments lawn did not recover and we will have to have a new lawn laid next year. Poor response from Bolton turf and £600 down the drain.

recently had a little extension put on the front of my house, part of the extension being to have a concrete ramp to my front door put in. Before the builders, the grass was never very good. Due to my lack of forethought, when the builders left, I had a scrub land, cut in half by a concrete ramp with a 9 inch drop either side as it reached the front door. My original thought was to simply have organic grass either side of the ramp but this would be very difficult to maintain because of the ramp, so I pondered artificial grass either side: ~ enter Gary Bolton. He was brilliant from the start: suggesting raising the ground either side of the ramp, before putting down the grass. It then all got a bit complicated for a simple soul like me, as he started to talk about damp courses, type one and sand. He was exceptionally patient with this old duffer, and answered all my questions & addressed all of my worries, leaving a sample of turf to be considered. I should note I am the sort of nightmare customer that comes up with hundreds of questions: ifs, and buts, and rather takes a company at their word when they say, just call with any questions. Again, Gary was always patient and kind towards me, dealing with all of my enquiries. On the day Gary s assistant, Paul, turned up bang on time; being equally as amenable as Gary. Gary followed shortly after, having collected some type one ~ still not completely sure what that is! They then just beavered away for most of the day, leaving behind a superb job, the ramp no longer sticking up like a sore thumb, and a grass looking lush and green. It is the honest truth to say, when I compare it to a neighbour s newly laid organic lawn the only real give away it the uniformity of the length of grass!! Bottom line: having had a fantastic experience with Gary Bolton and an amazing result to my garden ~ all competitively & reasonably priced, I would recommend Bolton Turf and Landscapes without hesitation or reservation. I needed my garden landscaping, the house had been rented for several years before I bought it and had been badly neglected. I just wanted a nice, clean, low maintenance garden. I telephoned several companies, many of them just told me to send them an email, then they never even bothered to reply! In contrast, Gary answered the phone to me straight away and was happy to give his time to come round the same afternoon to quote! He was genuinely interested, listened to me and contributed his ideas. Any emails I sent were replied to the same day. He didn t make any promises he couldn t keep regarding when the work would start, but in actual fact started the job a few weeks earlier than I expected which was a bonus. When he and his team arrived to do the work they were extremely hard working and very polite and courteous. They were extremely punctual, started early and cracked on all day come rain or shine. The replacing of our lawn (420 sq.m. ) was completed in 5 days. Existing grass was removed, the existing ant mounds ( 3.5 tonnes ) were dug up and removed. The whole area was rotovated, top soil added, rolled and good quality turf installed. It was a very professional operation for which we were very impressed. Not the cheapest quotation but extremely good value for money. We would recommend this company with confidence.

Wow. Tenants had left the garden untended for 4 years. The bottom of the garden wasn t even visible through the brambles and weeds. The team, in 3 days, cleared the ground, dug out an old drain and fitted a new one, laid a new patio and lawn and put in the base for the new shed. Gary and his team have transformed our garden, we couldnt be happier. We had a large scruffy section of garden that needed a complete overhaul. Gary had real vision at what would make the most of the space and give us the end result we desired. The work started as scheduled with the old fence, shed, trees and old patio removed. As everything took place Gary and the team adapted the project to ensure the levels of the garden flowed into each other seamlessly and raised the level of our existing path and lawn to match. Following major work to replace our sewage treatment system, our lawn was a complete mess. During his initial visit, Gary suggested that we would be best to leave things over the winter until all of the filled in holes and trenches had settled properly. This was sensible advice as the surface changed considerably over the next few months, When they did start to replace the lawn in March, I was very impressed with the effort they put in and how well they coped with the difficult access to the site. In only two days they had transformed a patch , uneven mess that was almost impossible to mow into a smooth and healthy lawn that is a joy to behold. In the four weeks since, the turf has knitted together very well and is now an even lush green with no signs of the joins remaining. Throughout, Gary and his staff were polite and professional, they even made a good job of tidying up the access route through our neighbours garden. Overall, an excellent job and we are delighted with the results.

Bolton Turf spent a week at our house clearing and levelling ground, putting up almost 30m of feather edge fencing with a gate, laying a patio, reinforcing a surface with grids and shingle and laying turf. They always started early (approx 0730), worked hard during the day, kept to schedule and Gary Bolton in particular is a perfectionist. Communication with Gary and his team was good and they accommodated our changes to the specification part way through the work. They also cleaned up thoroughly afterwards! They have worked on at least four out of the 17 houses in our road, having been recommended by neighbour to neighbour. Good quality and good value.

After an extensive search for a professional landscape company to undertake laying an artificial lawn, we found Bolton Turf & Landscapes which ticked all of our initial requirements. From the first contact with Gary he was very helpful. Upon arrival at my home to do the work, he and his assistant began work immediately. Their work was meticulous yet swift and they went the extra mile to remove a previously hidden tree stump with the help of a colleague who was available at short notice and also removed a concreted in rotary washing line ground spike from the grass. As access to my garden is shared with my neighbour, they made sure everything was cleared up and left tidy on my land and that of my neighbour. My garden was previously full of weeds with very poor quality grass but they completely transformed it into a vision of beauty and far exceeded my expectations. Garys advice for the aftercare of the grass was also thoroughly explained and the questions I had were answered.

We used Bolton Turf to remove our tired and ailing front and back lawns and to replace with new turf. Without hesitation I can fully endorse the really high quality of their work and of the quality of the turf used. I was impressed with all aspects and particularly with the care given throughout the process. I can t think of anything negative to add.

I contacted Gary of Bolton Turf after reading the reviews on various sites including Google. We wanted an old shrub bed removing along with two areas of grass replacing with artificial turf and new patio areas. Gary came out to estimate for the job very quickly. He gave helpful advice and was not pushy at all. A realistic time frame was given of when he could begin and how long it would take to do the job. He gave us a ball point cost at the time with a written estimate later by email. No money was requested upfront which I believe is good sign as it shows he has faith in the quality of work he and his team do. He arrived on Monday morning along with two other members of his team. They worked quickly with hardly any tea breaks even in this cold snap. They worked as quietly as possible and were very polite. The work was carried exactly as requested and if there were any issues Gary kept us informed and offered advice which we were free to accept or ignore - no pressure at all or attempts to upsell anything. On completion they checked we were happy and satisfied with the results - which needless to say we were. They tidied up everything and left after two and half days. I wouldnt hesitate to use Bolton Turf again and would highly recommend them.

Gary and team have completely restored by faith in tradesmen. After a number of bad experiences with other tradesmen, they were fantastic from beginning to end. They advised, offered opinions (but never forced them), they were extremely comunicative throughout and the end result is of the highest quality. A little more expensive than my other quotes but I would strongly recommend and happily use again.

Gary and his team did an excellent job on our garden. Originally, the back part was overgrown, had rotten wood, concrete and netting embedded into it from an old decking area. Around it were extremely large boulders and dense bushes. The rest of the grass in the garden was in poor condition; mostly moss, lumpy and with many ant hills. The finished product is fantastic; a completely cleared out, levelled and re-turfed garden which we cannot wait to use in the summer. It really does look great. The price was very good and Gary and his team were very professional; tidy, polite, hard working and completing the work to a very high standard in a short period of time (despite the pouring rain)! Gary was recommended to us by many people in our area who have used his services. I am so glad they did, and I can not recommend his team more to others who are looking for similar work to be done. You will not be disappointed...
