General Tree Service - SavATree in Beaverton

General tree has applied pre-emergent for weed prevention for us since March of 2016. It is applied once in the spring and once in the fall and is the best thing we have every done for our yard. An investment that we will never give up!!! Not to mention that the people that do this application for us are dedicated to us and the maintenance of our yard. They are excellent!!!!!!

General Tree has been servicing my landscape for nearly 20 years with consistently great results. Each person who has come is friendly, professional, and give great advice and recommendations for taking care of the trees, shrubs, lawn and garden. The work they do is excellent including complete clean up at the end. I recommend General Tree without reservation.

Did the bear minimal work then sent an invoice for the part of work that wasn t done at all. Not my idea of what I asked for.

My experience with the people coming and spraying our trees was excellent. All the folks were good and explained when I had a question. I am not going to have my cedars sprayed any longer since it is not helping and the limbs are dying. So I am just going to let the trees die.

General Tree did tree work (trimming, thinning, getting rid of dead branches) at our home on July 18th. They did an outstanding job on the work and the clean-up was superior. I would strongly recommend this company to anyone that needs tree service.

Pruning fruit trees.

I have used General Tree service several times the past few years. They have a great crew. Very professional and on time. The crew is very courteous and caring as to what you want done. I will always call them again foe future needs.

From our initial contact with our expert arborist Juan to our final wave goodbye as the crew left our place GTS was the exemplar of tree care. Juan was friendly, kind, thoughtful and a good listener. He showed he valued our trees and was interested in what was best for them, individually AND collectively. He demonstrated concern for safety first, health second, and work last. The crew was careful, meticulous and qualified. Each one of them was polite and friendly. Whenever I desired to ask for something, they gave me all their attention and carried it out as I desired. Based on my experience I give GTS an unqualified AFFIRMATION as an expert and caring tree service and feel it would be VERY difficult for you to go wrong going with them.

The crew missed one ugly and odd branch outside my kitchen window just where I would constantly see it. I asked about it in an email that night and early the next morning a guy was there to remove it. Thats great service! Weve had GTS do other work and its all been excellent.

Ali does a great job providing weed control for the areas bordering our extensive wetlands and in our upland oak area. Her thorough and careful spray has resulted in a marked decrease in invasive weeds, blackberry, etc. She is also a pleasure to work with: professional, punctual, and very pleasant. I used General Tree to spray Nutsedge which is a very stubborn invasive plant to eradicate in the garden. One spray knocked it down halfway but not fully so they came back for free and sprayed the Nutsedge again. I was impressed by how prompt they were and thorough in their application. Allie who did was spraying is very professional and courteous. I d highly recommend them.

I met with Juan to go over the work I needed deadheading a lilac; removing an invasive plant; pruning 3 overgrown shrubs; and shearing and topping a very large hedge. Juan was very responsive to all my questions and very thorough in his assessment of the work to be done. The actual work was done by Bryan and Pete. They were extremely pleasant and easy to talk to, and did an excellent job in a very timely manner. I have used General Tree Service for many years, and am always pleased with the quality of their work and with all the people in the company with whom I have worked over the years.

Trees look great!

Ive had general tree for more than 25 years. They are thr best hands down.

Not only does the arborist know how to care for my trees and bushes, but they help me understand how to better care for them. Theyre very knowledgeable and I appreciate their patience with all my questions.

Everything about this tree service has been exemplary!

The crew did a fantastic job of pruning three locusts that had grown into other trees at odd angles. They trimmed everything exactly as needed, answered my questions, and removed all the debris.

GTS is not inexpensive, but their personalized service, competence, professionalism, communication, attention to detail, follow-up and reliability is excellent. We have been working with them for years and they just keep getting better. Mike works in our garden and supervises others who do as well; it always feels like a hands on consistent approach that means so much. We never feel like we are being serviced by random strangers. Iris is the garden designer at GTS and her design work and help on miscellaneous projects has been stellar. Other staff whom I have never met but have just talked to on the phone have all been great. AND their employees all seem to enjoy working there and most have been there for years! They seem like kind of a model for how to run a successful business. Five stars!!!

Amazing response and correspondence.

`My prized trees have been transformed into thriving from on life support due to care provided by General Tree Service. Prior to GTS, 2 of 8 trees had perished in same area.

The crew did a fantastic job on a 100 year old silver maple that required some specialized equipment and navigating overhead power lines. They were communicative and respectful. The tree looks great, healthy, and is clearly responding well to the prunning.

This is the 3rd time we have used General Tree Service. They sent out a great team all the way around for this job. They listened, cared, understood the circumstance we were working with, and in the end went beyond to make sure everything was right.

All three guys listened to me re being careful about not damaging my water feature just under the Aspen trees that were removed. They also asked me whether I thought the trimming of the Mt Ash was adequate. They cut the log rounds to my specification so that I can split and burn them in my wood stove once they dry in a few years.

General Tree Service did an outstanding job taking down three trees in decline. One was an 80 foot Western Red Cedar that was in my back yard, that was not easy to get to. Everyone at General Tree Service that was involved with our project was first rate. The workers arrived right on time, worked hard and cleaned up every twig and branch from the grounds before they left. The invoice was not a penny over the bid - no hidden charges. We will use them again.

Helped treat our tree full of aphids with organic spray that would not harm the pollinators. Worked great and quickly too.

Overpriced and they have faulty billing practices. Unfortunately I can not recommend using them. Use at your own risk.

We have had excellent service from General Tree. We have had quick responses for weather related downing of trees, pruning, and tree pruning. Our annual pruning and landscape work was done beautifully this week. Highly recommend.

Team came by and did the trimming on my trees. It seemed like a good value, but not sure that they finished the job. Looks like a few limbs were left a bit too long on the tree on the far left. They did not book a time, so I was not here the whole time that they were pruning. I guess it is my fault for not blocking the time to watch the action. I will use them again but will press for a committed appointment time.

Excellent with following my request not to trim tree up too much but cleaned the inner branches very well. She perked up within a day. Also excellent with the cleanup. Thank you for taking care of my big girl!

General Tree is the best when you want to know the health of your trees. We unfortunately have had some cedars dying at their tops, and when Brian checked our entire property and pointed out things that were not even on our radar. Very knowledgeable.

GTS was recommended to me by my neighbor who is a realtor. They were responsive, came on time, handled everything well and efficiently. Will definitely use again next winter.

We recently bought a property with seriously overgrown and dead trees. Juan Rodarte and his team did a beautiful job of trimming and shaping trees, removing a dead tree right next to the house, and grinding stumps. The house looks cared for again! Juan went above and beyond to communicate, advise on decision-making, and stay in touch about progress on the project. General Tree will be our ONLY call for tree services going forward!

We have been customers of General Tree Services for years. A tree they perform routine maintenance fell on our roof. We didnt blame them for the fallen branch that punctured our roof, we simply wanted an estimate to get the branch off our roof so that we can proceed with the repair. A representative came to give us an estimate and he was rude, and wanted me to sign a proposal that did not have the totals we had discussed. I mentioned that I do not like to sign contracts that do not estipulate a value and he said: Well, this is how we do it, if you cant sign it, then you should look for someone else. I asked again if that mean he didnt want us to be repeating customers (Our oak needs treatments, and pruning, over the years we have spent over 10K on that tree) He said: Do as you wish This company also as per our recommendation helped a neighbor to deal with a fallen tree during last years fires. They left the debris for weeks on the street. It took us too long to realize how expensive and incompetent they are. I just hope you dont make the same mistake as we did.

They are sneaky -asked for a tree trim on some oaks and did not remove the very dead limb hangin over my shed, could not see that they did anything much except charge $1100 bucks Nice work if you can get it ,huh?

The crew showed up on time and worked hard all day climbing and pruning many trees and trimmed two large arborvitae hedges. We are very happy with the job done. Excellent service for a reasonable price.

I was recommended to General Tree by another company in my area, since his arborist was on leave due to COVID-19. Kevin came out to our property quickly (scheduling was a breeze), and assessed what we called him about. We had a tree fall down during the wind storms with the wildfires, and we werent sure if other trees were right behind it. His knowledge of trees in general was apparent and very appreciated. Not only did he give insight into the purpose of the call, he also walked the property with me to look at everything else, and make recommendations. A quote showed up very promptly as well outlining exactly what we had discussed. We havent accepted it yet (I fully intend to and will amend the review then), but are very impressed overall with Kevin and General Tree overall.

Kyle Fordham and General Tree Service are fantastic! Knowledgeable and understood our urgency of need. We made an appointment with General Tree service and Kyle followed up with coming earlier in the day then we scheduled. Due to our urgency this was met with great excitement. We had a tree that was leaning towards our house and Kyle assessed that it needed to come down immediately. Creatively he worked to a solution and layed out our risks to our other landscape. Then Kyle successfully fell the tree avoiding damage to any of our other landscape (much to our surprise)! We will definitely have Kyle back as well as General Tree Service to work on other Tree maintenance and safety in the future. Its nice to find businesses that focus on customer service and are incredibly responsive and communicative.

The three young men who came and took down a huge fir tree without doing any damage to my bushes/plants are on my list of favorites! They did an exceptional job with clean-up as well! This crew will be our first to call for any other tree service we may have in the future. Thank you!

I had General Tree Service put in 4 trees 7 years ago. Greg was wonderful in helping me pick the right ones for my yard. But every tree has died! Ive had to take 3 of them out. The last one looks like it did when they planted it hasnt grown much. Very dissatisfied and disappointed. Waste of money

General Tree Service has taken care of my trees for several years. They do a very good job and are easy to talk to. I will always have them take care of my trees.

General Tree is professional and personable in their work. As arborists, they have the know how and technology to accurately diagnose a tree for sustainability and health. When we lost a tree to a strong windstorm, they were here within hours, removing the tree from the driveway. The staff is knowledgeable and always a pleasure to work with. They do good work and leave the property looking totally cleaned up after routine pruning or any other work.

The best. I was at work so all the conversations were done over the phone. The removed all 6 filberts and 1 holly plus the debris and ground the stumps. The did a fantastic job and it looks like we never had those trees to begin with.

I have been using General Tree Service since about 1987 for monthly service on my landscape. I have seen many changes through the years. The person overseeing and doing most of the planting on my property for many of those years was Larry. He retired this year. They just removed a sick 60 tree from the backside of my property and did a very good job. But I have noticed some things have not been kept up as well during the past year as in years before. I think this is due to transition of personnel and me needing to communicate with the new people in charge of my account. That being said they could be doing a better job letting me know when personnel change and keeping the lines of communication open. I am hopeful things will improve this summer. In the past I would have had no hesitation to recommend this company to others. Now I am in a wait and see mode. I am optimistic that they will keep things together and that the quality of their service will continue to be dependable and noteworthy.
