Excellent service and staff as they come first to analyze and review the customers plant/tree concerns and needs. Then, they come to administer the treatment for the plant/tree according to when its the best time during the year(s).

This company has saved my landscaping!!! After having our entire propertys landscape professionally designed and installed with deer resistant planting, the neighbored deer began to destroy thousands of dollars of trees, shrubs, and ornamental plants. Scientific Plant Service (SPS) was recommended by an employee at a local nursery and the result has been miraculous!! They come once a month and spray the plants with a natural product that has mint oil and just like that we have the most gorgeous, diverse plantings in the neighborhood! I even plant things deer love now, because they are so well protected. And I only once in 2 years have had to call and ask them to respray early after a particularly rainy month, and unbelievably they came out the day I called. Not to mention we really like the technician, Tony, that comes out, he is so thorough! I couldnt be a bigger fan of this company and would absolutely recommend (In fact I have and my neighbor uses them now).

The technician came on time and introduced himself plus explained the services he was going to perform that day. SPS service technician was very efficient in performing the pest control application around the house. This was great customer service. Highly recommend SPS for pest control and other services.

I had a large tree that looked like it was dying. One company came out and confirmed that. Another came out and said wasnt sure needed to be removed, to call Scientific Plant Service. They came out and injected nutrients into the soil and sprayed the tree along the trunk and limbs to about 50 ft up. Too soon to tell, but paying several hundred dollars for that service versus $6000 to remove the tree seems worth the risk. Plus I was impressed that a tree removal company would recommend them.

Scientific Plant Service has helped us tremendously with our trees, that have been under attack by borers and bark beetles. They inspect regularly and treat when needed. They are responsive to emerging issues and very knowledgeable. This is very different from most companies, who just send someone out to treat on a schedule. We are very happy with the results and how they are always willing to talk to us and explain.

Tony, one of their technicians, was extremely thorough in his application of the thistle and weed killer that was invading all my mulched areas on my property. We have been absolutely plagued with herds of deer since we built our home a year ago. Our lot was the last to sell in the neighborhood and I believe because of this the yard had become a daily commuters route for the deer that travel from one side of the park to the other. This spring it became very evident that our newly planted landscaping was being devoured. We exhausted several other options before finally taking the recommendation of our landscape architect to hire the incredible staff at Scientific to resolve the problem. The impact was absolutely immediate. We are now literally watching the herd divide itself and travel in a wide circle around our property lines. They haven t touched a single newly blooming shrub or tree. I even took the risk of planting fruit trees and small dogwoods within just a few feet of the tree line. Not even a hoof print! This company should be called Magical Plant Service. I ve already recommended them to several friends and neighbors. My only regret is that we didn t hire them sooner.

How many deer do you see in the photo? (There are 11 !) This was taken in the winter of 2021. Herds of deer would roam through our property nightly and devour our decorative landscaping, including right next to our front door! We signed up with Md.SPS in Oct 2022 for a monthly application program. We have not seen a single deer on our property since the first application! And our neighbors also say they think there is something wrong because they have stopped seeing deer in their yards! We are completely sold on the Scientific Plant Service program.

We had problems with thistleweed in our planting beds. Could never get rid of it until Scientific Plant Services! We have them come every few years at the first signs of recurrence. Excellent service, highly recommend.

They have been taking care of my yard for three years and the improvement has been amazing. The yard is healthy, filling in and green as can be. My specialist is always available to provide advice and service and makes sure that all services are scheduled and performed on time. Overall I am extremely pleased with their service.

Very professional. One of the few companies providing such a full range of services. Only caveat is you must schedule your spring services in January or February as they get very busy.

Overall, the service is excellent. The only issues we had was with the lack of notice for appointments and trying to sync the schedules up so that I could have the grass mowed before the service.

They treated a diseased crepe myrtle tree and it is beginning to look much healthier. They were very thorough and careful.

We had 6 flowering cherries trees that were not doing well. By the middle of summer they would lose their leaves and looked terrible. One landscaper recommended that we cut them down and replace them. Scientific Tree recommended a fertilizer and treatment program. For the last 3 summers our trees look great. I highly recommend Scientific Tree Service.

I have been using Scientific Plant Services for over ten years now to care for my trees. SPS has been treating my white ash trees for the Emerald Ash Beetle. My 5 mature ash trees are the only ones left standing after the ongoing infestation by the beetle. My neighbors and I have had to cut down, for safety reasons, over 2 dozen other mature ash trees, that have not been treated, because of the beetle. I would recommend SPS to anyone for their tree services.

My two apple trees were not producing because of a disease. After two years of treatment, my trees are producing more apples than in the previous 30 years. Last year I donated over 1300 pounds of apples to the local food closet from just 2 trees.

For years SPS has been taken excellent care of our lawn and shrubs and throughout our relationship has proven to be dependable, knowledgeable and responsive.

These guys saved one of my huge Norway spruces and several skip laurels. They were both in bad shape. The skips were covered in scale. In the end, it saved me a ton of money not having to remove and/or replant these. Once they got healthy, they cut back the service automatically, not overcharging me. I highly recommend them.

This is a shout out to Scientific Plant Service. I planted an out tree that I just love. One day I discovered that it was in really bad shape. It was covered with the caterpillars of the Oak moth. I contacted Scientific Plant Service and they came right out and got ride of them. Plus they fertilize my tree every spring. It looks so vibrant and healthy now. Shrub pest control

have taken care of some of our shrubs and trees for several years...diagnosed problem and applied treatments that were spot-on! our apple tree fruit production has never been so good!

SPS helps us keep our landscaping in good shape. We are on a low yield well, and we cannot water plants. This makes them more susceptible to pest issues.

I use Scientific for my tree, bush, shrub and oriental material maintenance. Feeding, fertilizing and enriching areas of my turf. They are professional, knowledgeable and have a great understanding of my yard vegetation. I believe their work has sustained and strengthened all of my plant material. My trees, shrubs and bushes are protected, fed and thriving.

Used for an insecticide treatment on a Crape Myrtle, unknown results yet but professional prompt service, very responsive and easy on-line payment.

The lawn service they provide is very excellent and I have use them for several years. The people that service the lawn are very polite and answer any questions that I may have. They alert you on advance of the day they are coming so you have time to remove any falling leaves or any other debris. If necessary they will follow up to remove any weeds that may appear. This has seldom been required.

They have treated my spruce for needle cast fungus

Scientific Plant Services have been treating my 25 year old cherry trees and have managed to save them from disease. Very knowledgeable and helpful

Scientific did an evaluation and then a root treatment of several viburnums that are part of my privacy screen. They looked like they were on the way out, but now after the treatment they are thriving, with lots of new growth. Not only was I pleased about that, when I called for a follow-up, they informed me that I could wait another year before the next application. I appreciated their know-how and integrity, and look forward to having them back at the proper time. Highly recommend!

My English Ivy was dying off due to fungus. I tried to treat it myself with consumer products to no avail. Scientific was able to treat it and halt the problem quickly and easily. The cost was very reasonable.

I have only used for a short time but I can already tell that they are very responsive and they gave me an adequate review of all that they plan to do to recover our redbuds and dogwoods. They have already been out twice and just notified me that they will be out again this week.

In 2022, they sprayed hedge for fungus and fertilized the crepe myrtle. Spring of 2023 they will spray for scale on privet and continute to spray for fungus. We are hoping this will improve the health of our hedge and crepe myrtle.

I was told they would treat late fall and it has been treated. I look forward to spring to see how the tree responds to the treatment. Everyone I spoke to was very friendly and helpful.

The technician was wonderful. He even helped me find my 4 loose young dogs.

Every time we have an issue with our plants, we call Scientific Plant Service and one of their specialists is always quick to respond, come by, and evaluate the situation. We have been extremely satisfied as they have done a very good job identifying problems (plant disease, insect damage, watering problem, ...) and recommending the appropriate treatment.

We use them for the deer repellent service. Thanks to them are.garden has survived, year after year, unlike most of our neighbors.

We had an appointment and Tony was great, called ahead to let us know he was on the way so we could get our dogs in the house. When Tony got here we walked the property so he knew exactly what needed to be done, chatted for a few minutes so I knew exactly what to expect and how long to keep the dogs in, when we could plant, etc... We talked a bit about the area and how things have changed over the years which was great. Tony made me feel very comfortable with everything, the job, the company and himself. Definitely will use this service again as needed in future.

This is a great company for keeping our evergreens- Blue Spruce, Skip Laurels, Euonymus and more healthy. On more then one occasion they have come out to look at specific plants we were concerned about quickly and saved them!

If you live in the Baltimore city area do not use this company. I dont often post reviews unless theyre either amazing or horrible. The sales person in charge of Baltimore city is a mess. It took 3 calls and 3 emails to even get him to respond to my request. We agreed on a proposal which they were months late to. When they finally did it, there was no communication. They broke into our backyard and sprayed everything including our ferns. Then they proceeded to email me every week for their payment which I would reply informing them I will not pay. They did not hear out any of my concerns. I have had to escalate this to the manager. Save yourself a giant headache and avoid this company at all costs.

We had SPS assess and treat a tree we were concerned about. They were punctual, professional, and helped us identify the issues affecting the health of our tree. We would definitely use them again and recommend them to others!

We had them come out to address some concerns we had about several older trees. They came and diagnosed them with the promise to get back to us with a quote to treat the problems. Unfortunately the quote was confusing in its wording and was way out of our price range. The payment terms were very restrictive as well. Sadly, the price will prohibit us from prolonging the life of our trees.
