Always perform service timely. I ve rarely had services rescheduled unless the weather is very extreme. And the service is always done good - grass is mowed and leaves blown consistently well. I m happy with the service! They only service particular areas on particular days of the week, so this may not work for some people if they need their lawns mowed on particular days of the week, but this shouldn t be an issue for most people.

Top Choice have been providing us with services for the past 11 years and we have been very pleased with them. They provided professional advice when and as needed and saw us through recovery from the polar freezes and other severe weather damage

I am extremely happy with the yard service recently completed by Top Choice Lawn Care. Weeds were pulled, bushes were trimmed, leaves were removed, the native areas were cleaned up and the debris was removed. The landscaping is all refreshed and looks brand new! They worked so hard until the job was finished to my satisfaction. Additionally, the crew had a pleasant attitude and professional. Thank you very much for s job well done.

If I could give Top Choice less than 1 star I would. We initially signed on with Wellspring Lawn Services about a year ago (we were always very happy with Wellspring). Several months ago Wellspring was acquired by Top Choice. Since their acquisition Top Choices level of service has diminished. The list goes on and on from missed appointments to dropped services that were initially included when we were Wellspring customers (i.e. weekly spraying for weeds). We also experienced great difficulty reaching someone with Top Choice live on the phone (always pushed to VM or email). The straw that broke the camels back was an email I received from Top Choice earlier this week indicating our weekly service price was increasing by 35% Sounds fair to me, increased pricing for poor/less service - NOT! In their email Top Choice cited that Wellsprings pricing to us a year ago was inaccurate. What a great business plan, you acquire a company (assuming you felt the organization was solidly run) and then you trash them in an email to customers. What a tackless thing to do Top Choice management staff. Bottom line, IMO if youre looking for a lawn care provider Top Choice should not be your top choice...

Ive decided to try and get my lawn in order this summer but my sprinkler system hasnt worked since I bought the house over 2 years ago. After calling Top Choice Lawn Care, within a week they sent someone over to give me a quote, got me scheduled and completely fixed my sprinkler system. The entire time I worked with Greg who showed up in the planned window of service, took the time to explain what he was doing, and showed me how to use my system. 5/5 would recommend

Terrible company. We have only been working with them for the last few months, but EVERY time they have come they have continuously done a poor job at very simple landscaping maintenance, ie mowing the grass. In addition to that, they leave debris all across the yard. When we ve asked them why that is they say it s another charge to clean up after their team. Beware. This company only cares about getting you in as a customer then up charging you on things that are standard with ANY other landscaping company. Would not recommend

I appreciate his efficient response, professionalism, and expertise! Still highly recommend Top Choice. Top Choice does my weekly lawn maintenance and they just did a landscaping project for me. They always do a fantastic job. Joe was very knowledgeable and helpful in coordinating my landscaping project and Derrick did an outstanding job repairing my irrigation system. I highly recommend Top Choice!

Lisas crew installed major landscaping, aerated the lawn and applied top soil. A big job that took a day and a half and they were meticulous the whole way through. My yard is gorgeous! Thank you all so much!!

Greg from Top Choice Lawn Care recently came out to fix an irrigation wire I had accidentally cut while doing some yard work. He did a fantastic job, got everything working again quickly, and even went above and beyond to fix a couple of other small issues while he was here (raising a head and replacing a couple of wonky nozzles). I very much appreciate the attention to detail and high quality service!

Requested a quote on their website. I received 14 calls from them during the workday the next day before I had to block their numbers. Even the 2 I was able to answer, there was no one on the other end and they hung up.

Good prompt service with reliable support.

Overpriced for the service you get. They send crews of 4 out to your house and if everything takes an hour you still pay 4x for everything. A simple mow, edge, and blow would take me (1 person) a hour would take a crew of 4 an hour. They ve destroyed our salvia, lantana, and mountain laurel plants, and have to come out repeatedly to fix ignored things. I m tired of dealing with them and I d suggest anyone else should look elsewhere.

The crew did a great job cleaning up my neglected flower beds, pruning my shrubs and mulching. I was not home at the time to oversee the job and wholey anticipated having to ask them to come back to complete the job to my standards. But that was not the case. Thx for doing a fantastic job!

Hired them to mitigate lawn weeds. After a year, the weeds remain.

This is pre-merger review. Left me with $100+ repair bills for sprinklers system because their team would break some sprinklers literally every time they were here. The office staff is competent, but the folks doing actual mowing couldn t care less, do not recommend.

EDIT: on 12 March 2024 a manager from their customer service team did reach out to inquire about me canceling service and about this review. I did appreciate their interest in collecting feedback and trying to retain service (they offered me a slightly lower price at ~$50.00 instead only upon knowing Im leaving, versus initially honoring the original estimate). They also did ask what could be done to allow me to increase their review, to which I declined changing as their quality of mow service or pricing policy didnt actually change. I did want to call out and appreciate them making an effort to collect feedback. ORIGINAL POST: I used to use Wellspring before they were acquired by Top Choice. Since the acquisition, Top Choice has made the service worse. - my side lawn has been damaged by their equipment (ruts dug into my lawn) - they consistently have uneven cuts in the lawm due to their fast mowing - they did not honor existing quotes from Wellspring, and therefore no longer do discounts for weekly versus Bi-Weekly mowing schedules. I currently pay $59.96 total for weekly mows, weed whacking, and edging. Yard size is roughly 3700 sq ft

Terrible Lawn Company. Every time they come to service my lawn they have misses. They don t cut the entirety of the lawn and change what areas they service and won t service depending on who I talk to. I wouldn t recommend the company to anyone. They should be ashamed to use top choice as their company name. I ve never had such a terrible experience. They would knock on my door if the gate was locked then all of a sudden they don t do that anymore. Someone told me they offered text reminders the day before service, that turned out to not be true and they only offer a 30 minute before text. It seems completely chaotic there and if you want something done with quality do not waste your time, money of effort with these lazy people.

Rogelio, Jacob, and Luis made quick work of what seemed like an eternity of tree trimming and hauling after the ice storm! Rogelio climbs trees like a man half his age. They took great care of my old oaks and left the yard spotless. Couldn t ask for a better team with a better attitude after what has surely been a grueling few days. As they say attitude is a little thing that makes a big difference! And I learned so much by watching how they pruned and cleaned the trees. After all, you can observe a lot just by watching. Gotta also give credit to the leadership at Top Choice. It takes a great person like Nolan Gore to navigate the chaos of storm clean up with grace. Oh, and Nolan also has the best beard West of the Mississippi.

Top Choice s storm cleanup crew showed up promptly the first morning after the recent ice storm and did a thorough cleanup of the yard. The staff were professional and courteous, they listened carefully to my instructions and requests, and did everything exactly as discussed. Top notch service in every regard.

Quick response to fallen tree limbs, as usual job well done

After the recent ice storm in the Austin area, we lost many tree branches. The men from Top Choice Lawn Care arrived at our home and removed many fallen tree branches. Thank worked very hard in the cold to remove the hazardous limbs from our property. We are so grateful for their prompt and timely response to the storm debris. Thank you so much!

I use Top Choice for lawn mowing & maintenance and I am happy with them. The reason I am writing this review is their incredible response to the tree trimming/recovery that happened after the February 23 ice storm. All 5 of my trees needed work, some more than others. The initial email from Top Choice reminding clients to get on the list was timely, the list was well managed, the communications were timely, and a crew was out by Friday. In less than 2 hours all of my trees where pruned, the dead and downed branches removed, and the yard cleaned of all the small stuff. The price we reasonable (no price gouging here, thank you!).

Despite being pressed by many customers in extreme need, they responded to our early inquiry for help to haul away tons of tree debris after our recent icemageddon. We had a lot for them to do, and they stayed until it was done. Their efforts were nearly heroic, but still reasonably priced.

After the hellish freeze of February 2023, my yard was covered in branches as dead as they were heavy. Squirrels salvaged the acorns, birds gathered their belongings to find new homes, and I called Top Choice. Shortly thereafter, a masked hero who called himself Ezekiel came from the shadows with his merry band of landscape lions, to save our lawn from the Oak menace. Zeke and his men were quick, professional, and restored our lawn to its former glory. Now the healing can begin. Thank you, Top Choice. Youre my hero!

The team of Ciriaco, Rudy and Marcelo came today and did a fantastic job of cleaning up the area. it looks absolutely spotless and we re deeply grateful that you guys have trained your people as well as you have. The team really seemed to care about quality. I was not at home and only came to see it after they were done. I would ve certainly given them a tip for the wonderful job that they did. There was so much mess from broken branches and leaves from the ice event and the whole property now looks like the event never happened.

I have been using Top Choice for my lawn service and bed & shrub maintenance for many years. Their crew is excellent and have always left with my yard in immaculate condition. They are quick and follow orders for specific instructions. Recently after the ice storm they arrived right after the thaw and removed all branches on the ground and ones threatening to fall. A few weeks later returned to deal with any finishing touchups to the trees with a few branches high about that broke but no danger of falling and some stuck in the trees. The trees are now in great shape and returned my home to have a nice curb appeal. Their prices are very reasonable and dependable.

This company was a complete let down first no one answers the phone, then I got a txt 3 days later asking for information gave information. Still no call then just got a txt saying can t service address how could you run a business like this. Unprofessional!!!

I just had Top Choice Lawn Care Aerate and Topdress my lawn and they did an amazing job. Ive used other companies over the years and none of them came close to the time, effort, and quality of work that these guys did. By far the best aeration Ive ever had as they covered every area and even went back over a lot of the yard twice. For the Topdressing, they used a top quality mix and applied everything by hand using far more mix than any other company Ive used. They were even able to build up a low area I have had issues with and after they were done, they cleaned up the area. I would highly recommend Top Choice Lawn Care for your Aeration and Topdressing needs. I will definitely use them again next year.

Top Choice has aerated and top dressed our Zorro Zoysia for the past few years and it looked great. This year the crew accidentally over top dressed and the grass was partially damaged. Steve Dotson from Top Choice immediately recognized the problem and Top Choice took full responsibility and replaced our entire yard with new sod at their cost. I sincerely doubt many other companies would have done the same thing. We really appreciated the way Steve and Top Choice responded to an unfortunate situation. We plan to continue working with Steve and Top Choice in the future.

I had great experience with Jacob for my irrigation issues. My plants and trees were dying due to a broken pipe and faulty wiring issues. The irrigation company with the builders shirked all responsibilities and that s when I reached out to top choice lawn care. They were super easy to reach out to and set me up for an evaluation on a short notice. Jacob went above and beyond to try and root cause the issues and come up with alternatives to keep down repair costs. They maybe slightly costlier than other companies but I am super happy to say you get what you pay for and that s a top notch service with this company. Highly recommend .

I first hired Top Choice Lawn Care for my yard maintenance (mowing, edging, etc.). When I saw what a good job they did, I next hired them to maintain and service my irrigation system. Having been happy once again with their work, I have since hired them to maintain my bed and shrub areas, spread mulch, and then they removed the large tree branches that had broken off when we had the ice storm. Their workers always leave the work area clean and tidy. Whenever I have a question or issue I want to talk about, they always reply quickly and are eager to do a good job. Jacob at Top Choice was great! He came out to assess my sprinkler system bc my water bill has been unusually high and he quickly found a broken head, which was surely wasting thousands of gallons per watering cycle (I confirmed this by finally setting up my MyATXWater smart meter acct and seeing a ridiculous number of gallons being used every time the sprinklers came on). He also noticed one or two zones were not working and he showed me which valve was the culprit. When he removed a wirenut from one of the solenoid wires, we saw the wire wasnt even stripped, so that was an easy fix! (Also smh my head at whomever installed a wirenut over completely insulated wire). If I ever have any irrigation problems in the future, Jacob will be the first person I call! And if I ever need any other lawncare, I know Top Choice will treat me fairly.

Wellspring lawn Care merged with Top Choice. The new crew came out and did an excellent job mowing, edging, and cleaning up. I had called the office earlier about our hedges needing trimming and beds weeded- this had been included in our bi-weekly service as needed for a small increase in the price. Now we have to set up a separate service for that. But the office responded super quick and had the lawn techs trim and weed at no extra charge to complete our contract with the former business!!! What exemplary ethics and customer service. We are extremely happy with Top Choice!

We just had sod installed in our back yard. From the bid to the time they drove off site, this crew was top notch. They clearly have a well groomed system of working parts. The installation crew showed up right on time, briefed us and answered questions, and then it was all business. Everyone knew what their role was and the teamwork was very fluid. They did everything that they told us they would do and then in the end, they did a bit more. They did have a mishap and cracked a pvc line in the irrigation, but one call from them to the irrigation team, and that started a whole new dance. The irrigation team showed up with the same professionalism and got right to work. There were no fingers pointing and no arguing. They just got right to work to fix the problem. Then they too went beyond the call of duty and replaced some sprinkler heads and adjusted water pressures to massage our inadequate system back to an operable state. These guys care about what they do and dont hesitate to go the distance. Its clear that they do everything reasonable to keep the great reputation that they have in check. Thanks yall! Great job!!!

Derrick came out to repair our freeze damaged backflow preventer. He was very professional and obviously very knowledgeable. He explained the options for correcting the problem and then completed the repair quickly and completely. I plan to ask for him by name the next time I have an irrigation related problem.

The team was great. They assessed the existing irrigation system to understand the problems. From there, they offered a two phased plan to repair the existing system to get it working followed by post planning to improve the two zones. I really appreciate this more cost effective let s work with with you and your system approach rather than a start from scratch approach.

Had a scheduled visit to address an irrigation/sprinkler pvc pipe issue caused by a company burying a cable for my neighbor. After that fix, we discussed doing a system check while they were here. There were a few issues found - one caused by a tree root. They showed me each item and were able to fix today while onsite - really appreciate Derrick and Johnny doing a great job!

Working with Liz on the Landscape Design team was an amazing experience. We were looking to do a revision to our flower beds, and Liz made it easy. We were able to change the plants to more drought resistant native plants recommended by Liz, and also able to change the shape / design to better meet our needs. Throughout the process, Liz was a strong communicator, working to meet our needs -- and our budget! In the end we couldnt be more pleased. The team was onsite for two days and were highly efficient with their time. All of the work team was professional and worked to keep the job on track. At the end of the job, even the yard surrounding the beds was in better shape than when they started. They were highly detail oriented and kept the workspace clean. Id love to work with Liz and team again and would recommend them to anyone!

Very responsive and professional. I got a call back the same day I left an online request for an estimate. They were very up front in letting me know one of my requests would take about a month to get to as they were full up. They even recommended other companies to take care of that issue instead of making me wait. This is my go to company now for landscaping, lawn, and irrigation needs!

Needed front yard lawn replaced. They did everything right, on time, and now I have one of the best looking lawns in the neighborhood. They also fixed my 10 year old irrigation system that never worked right and now it functions as it should. Johnny and his team were so great! They were able to come out quickly and helped determine the issues with my irrigation system to make sure that my newly planted trees could survive the hot Texas summer. Liz and her team did a fantastic job designing and adding a giant bed in our backyard with native plants and flowers. We hired Top Choice to maintain our flower beds, with the understanding that they would take to me each time so that I can tell them which beds to work on and they did not do that. They came while we were away on vacation and pulled some volunteer seedlings and other plants and flowers that we did not want pulled. We will not be using them again and just wanted people to know that they need to keep close track of what they are doing so they dont pull things that you want to keep.

The irrigation specialist was able to come out that day to assess what ended up being more than one contributing factor to the issue. Fortunately, he was able to repair and resolve everything during that same visit. Thank you for this excellent service.

Top Choice has hardworking crews that do the job right. They just completed a large cleanout of dead vegetation at our place after the deep freeze last month. They did a great job clearing out the vegetation and leaving everything spotless.

Top Choice took care of our lawn for about a year and the yard always looked great. They are professional, dependable and have great customer service. When we moved, we had to get the beds mulched and needed it done quickly. Although they typically require more lead time, they worked with us to get the mulching done in time for listing the house. Very quick scheduling. I had backflow preventer damage after the last winter freeze. Gary called me up that day and said he could come and take a look at it. Took COVID protective measures with face mask and distancing. Identified plus repaired the issue very quickly. He had spare parts with him in the truck so no other trips were necessary. Derek and Mason did a great job working on one of my irrigation zones that stopped working. Got it fixed up fairly quickly and cleaned up well after having to dig up my yard to put in new wiring. They also helped replace another sprinkler that another landscape guy had installed incorrectly. They really put in the extra time and effort to make sure it was done right. I needed some work done to my irrigation system. I had some bad coverage and leaky sprinkler heads. Derrick was able to diagnose all the places that needed fixing or adjustments. They did a great job of adding, moving, adjusting all the heads, and setting the optimal zone times for watering over the summer. They also did a great job of cleaning up afterwards and you cant tell where they had to dig for the new heads. Now my yard and shrubs have great coverage everywhere.

I have used Top Choice a number of times and they are always very professional, on time, abs the work is great! They are also pretty reasonable on price. It is so difficult to find a reliable yard service and their team can do a lot of things (from sprinklers to yard upgrades). Recently, I have had Amazon trucks run over our yard and break our sprinkler pipes. Top choice suggested large rocks to prevent the trucks from backing up. These rocks were huge, and they look sharp! Leroy and Chuy moved them around (even just a few inches here and there) to make sure they were placed just right. Very pleasant, fast, abs professional. Thanks!

Derrick and Brady were amazing! They were courteous, professional, helpful, and easy to talk to and understand. They took the time to explain the issues and remedies. I would recommend their services to others. Sometimes the grass is greener on the other side because you need a little Derrick and Brady in your life. :)

We have been using Top Choice for a couple of years now and have been very happy with the range of services they provide. We were having trouble with our old sprinkler system and James came out and put in a new Rachio system. There were a lot of glitches in getting it set up but James was patient and figured out everything and got our new system up and running. Irrigation team is great to work with!

He was extremely helpful and personable and treated us like his friends, not just another customer. I cannot say enough positive things about Top Choice Lawn Care. They have done work for us before that we were happy with so I asked them to do some work at our rental property. We had been told by another company that things were not up to code and got a large bid for the work. Derrick and James from Top Choice came out today and did a lot of research and discovered that the type of system we have is indeed to code and did not need to be upgraded saving us lots of money. They also repaired and replaced some missing heads and identified a few other minor issues. They are honest, polite, straightforward and reliable. I will always use this company for my irrigation needs.

Top Choice Lawn Care is AMAZING! They are very professional, efficient and actually listen to our needs. I have rocks for landscaping. Im going through chemo and hands shake and they were so nice regarding pulling the weeds through the rocks, grrrr that was getting to me. They also email us to make sure we are satisfied with their service EVERYTIME! Another thing that sets them apart from similar businesses is (We loveee this) ---on their emails they always have hilarious jokes, funny gift ideas etc. In times like these, we could use a good laugh, which they provide that as well. Our yard is so green, thick, healthy and has never looked better. I think this is the 2nd review Ive ever done. I hope you guys read this, took me 43mins & 24.1 seconds- whew! James and Derek did a great job checking my irrigation system. They also corrected any issues same day and have put together a proposal for an update to better the system. Highly recommend. They were very friendly and knowledgeable.

These guys are great. Came out to detect and fix a major geyser I had coming from a broken part of the irrigation system. They fixed the obvious issues then diagnosed the issue that wouldn t turn off the zone. Great job, very timely and professional. We switched our lawn care over to Top Choice a few months ago after always being unhappy with previous companies who were terrible with communication. I was determined to find someone who would actually show up every week and do what I was paying them to do. I kept seeing Top Choice trucks in our neighborhood so I looked them up, saw all the great reviews, and decided to give them a try. Ive been VERY impressed from day 1 with the incredible communication. Theyre not kidding when they say theyre a customer service business that happens to do lawn care. Theyre wonderful at BOTH, actually. They get the job done right, and if they ever have to change your day of service due to rain, etc, you get an email letting you know what to expect. And they auto debit your credit card like every company should...this is the first yard company Ive had to that and it makes such a difference. Thank you Top Choice for making my life easier and my yard pretty!

Used Gary with Top Choice to fix irrigation system and complete some diagnostic work. They did a great job, were very professional and knowledgeable. Gary took the time to answer questions. The previous provider did an OK job but overall, I was not happy with their responsiveness and follow up. I used Yelp to help me find Top Choice Lawn Care. I will be using Gary with Top Choice again.

We have used and loved Top Choice for about 3 years now and they are awesome!! When we moved into our house, we had no idea the amount of work the landscaping would require and chose to have professionals take care of that for us. Price wise they were more expensive than some other companies I found, but their reviews were stellar and I read some horror stories of people whose lawn companies made their lives more stressful, not less. We chose to go with them, and it has been totally worth it! We recently decided to start doing the regular lawn/leaf maintenance ourselves again just to reduce our living costs, but wow do we miss them! We just had them out again to do a bunch of tasks before selling our home and they did a great job as always. They proactively noticed that we had a leaking water valve, so we just had Gary, their irrigation specialist out today to address that as well and he did a great job. It is hard to find great service sometimes, so it is very nice to find those few companies that really shine! They definitely know what they are doing, and do it very well. If you are looking to hire a team of professionals who are great at their craft, and will make your life easier, you will love them!
