HELENE UPDATE: The system Bill and his team installed worked exactly as it should. I could not imagine a more strenuous test. A+. If I had not had this work done, I would not have a finished basement anymore. Its hard to articulate how great this experience was for me. After months of attempting on my own to resolve our storm water drainage issues; made obvious with tropical storm Fred and dealing with no show/no call back contractors. Of the estimates I had to correct a foundation water intrusion into our bedroom Integrated Landscaping was a little over the next bid but William was very professional and explained the steps in detail how his company would install a French Drain. I accepted his bid with a 25% deposit upfront to secure the job to start in a few days. In the meantime I discovered the water issue was due to pipe leak inside the wall and not from a foundation issue. No way William or myself would have known this pipe issue at the beginning William graciously offered to return my deposit 100% however I did have him install a downspout extension which is crew did a fantastic and professional job. .I highly recommend this company. Bill and his crew did an excellent job on the roads in our subdivision. They patched some holes, shored up the edges of the road that had broken off, and created a the new drainage solution at the bottom of the hill where a large puddle formed every time it rained. We had some drainage concerns with our lawn that was causing damage in our basement and we are so happy to have found Integrated Landscaping. Bill Laity gave us a thorough consultation on the situation inside and outside of the house, gave us options for scope and scale of the work, and timeline, and was very patient with my many questions. The drainage routing they did from the gutters is wonderful, we can not only see but even hear the difference when it rains now and it is such a relief not having to worry about that drainage issue anymore. When the work started Bills team was just as prompt, professional, and considerate. Like filled the stray bare patch in the yard, didnt wake my baby up from a nap degree of considerate. The walkway on one side of my house was sliding downhill. I needed a walkway put in. I spent 2 years trying to find someone who would do it. Several landscaping companies did not want to be bothered with such a small project. Then I found Integrated. William Laity was a joy to work with. He turned that too-small project into a gorgeous walkway. After that I asked them to put in pavers, stairs and a sunken garden. All are gorgeous.

Bill, Sean, and his entire crew were amazing for solving our landscaping problems. We hired them at the recommendation of our engineer to abate soil pressure that had harmed our foundation. We have absolute confidence that our home is sound and safe. Beyond that they added major curb appeal to our front yard with the addition of a flagstone walkway and front porch and refining a rock feature in our Japanese-inspired garden. Small trees and plants were carefully removed and returned. Good amounts of compost and mulch were added for the beauty and health of the garden. Most of all Bill et.al., got me and provided a lovely haven to return to at the end of my work day. Everyone was pleasant and dedicated. They exceeded my expectations. Highly recommended.

Bill, William Laity, gave us helpful advice on our site water management without any pressure to use their company. In fact, rather than trying to sell us their work, he was honest that how we really need to address our site water mitigation is by working with companies that address crawlspace moisture problems.

In some ways, I hate to advertise how wonderful Integrated Landscaping is because that means they will be harder to schedule for future work. Our newly purchased house had a serious drainage problem--like a stream was running along our foundation during heavy rains problem. Bill provided a solution that should help our house survive for another hundred years. His crew was wonderful. Our neighbors couldnt stop talking about how kind and courteous they were. We invested a lot of our renovation savings into the work Bill completed at our house and it was worth every penny. If you can get on this schedule, do it. You wont regret it.

The experience was exceptional start to finish. It was clear the crew was doing extras to make the complicated drainage system perfect. The result was more than I thought I would get and it is rare these days for contractors to go beyond the expected. Every person on the crew had a lot of knowledge of the complex job (excavating, drainage systems, general engineering), so no one was there just as labor. The crew was courteous and explained everything along the way. Hire these guys. You will be pleased.

I have a complex drainage issue on my lot and William was able to determine a solution that was affordable and that works. Of course, there were much more complex and pricey fixes that might have worked, but he kept my needs in mind in terms of both cost and effectiveness. William is extremely knowedgable about this area and the issues that come with living here (in a house thats almost 100 years old with lots of uphill neighbors!)

Bill and his team provided professional, top notch service on the project they completed for us. We had a french drain system installed to resolve a swampy area in our yard and it has done wonders for usability, enjoyment, and ease of maintaining of that area. While the crew was here we also had some raise beds installed for a garden area, which has been a wonderful feature to have to keep busy these last few months of staying at home. French Drain Project We were referred to Bill Laity of Integrated Landscaping of Asheville by friends, Bill was highly recommended. Mr. Laity made several visits to set up our project. There were several delays because of frequent rainfalls. His crew were polite and respectful of our property. They were meticulous in digging, laying underground pipe with fabric covering and especially in creating a river rock bed overlying the drain. The yard was repaired, raked, sown with grass and straw. We had Integrated Landscaping landscape our backyard earlier this year and just had them landscape the front. I am so happy with the outcome that I feel like a kid at Christmas. The design was perfect, the quality of the materials excellent and the crew delightful. Integrated Landscaping is not likely the least expensive option and you might have to wait a little longer to get the work done but it is so worth it!

We recently purchased a home in the Kenilworth neighborhood and had some questions and concerns about water drainage near our home. Mr. Laity was very professional and down to earth in providing his expertise and knowledge concerning drainage issues. Mr Laity reviewed all the areas we had concerns with and assured us that with proper maintenance and care the drainage at this point in time could be handled in a reasonable way through minor modifications. By modifying downspouts and adding some additional drainage fixes for retaining walls. We highly recommend Integrated Landscaping and will use them for future projects!

Bill and his crew did a fantastic job rebuilding our culvert in our front yard. We were dealing with major erosion issues and it looked quite unsightly. Bill and his team built a rock basin and wall that has already withstood a very rainy season. I would highly recommend them.

So if you re reading this you re probably considering hiring William Laity and his crew at Integrated Landscaping of Asheville. Well I just finished a pretty big job with them, (armoring a creek wall that was being ravaged by random flash floods and that threatened our property) and I ll be happy to share my experience. This was no small job for the average Chuck in a truck type landscaper; it required a VERY high level of expertise as well as the procurement of complicated permits from the Army Corp of Engineers and the NC Dept. of Environmental Quality. (DEQ) You should know that I ve got a landscaping background myself: my grandfather founded a plant nursery in Caldwell NJ in 1907, a successful multi-generational family company where I also worked for 20+ years. I m not claiming a top level of expertise but I ve definitely been around the block and have seen a lot of landscaping work and the widely differing kinds of service one can receive. What I think makes Bill Laity and his work crews stand out as being so unique is that a) Bill has an extraordinarily high level of solid expertise, b) he listens quite closely to your needs and concerns, c) he beautifully articulates what he perceives as solutions and advice regarding your landscaping situation. Last but not least, d), he then delivers on absolutely everything you worked out together. He is the epitome of the stand up guy who doesn t try to either oversell you, or, sell you what you do want but then under-deliver in the field. His pricing is quite fair and by no means the most expensive, and again I can speak to that from my own experience in seeking bids before I d ever even met Bill Laity. His costs are actually quite reasonable, and when you factor in the high quality of workmanship and knowledge combined with these very reasonable prices, well that s just a combination you re not likely to find anywhere much less very easily beat. The work crew Bill sent to the job and performed all the contracted work were equally impressive in terms of their ability to listen to your concerns and also deliver on what we d hired them for. There was never any of the disconnect you can encounter, where the work crew shows up on day #1 and has scant insight into what the boss had promised and set up. Anyone whos ever dealt with that knows how irritating it can be: the workers show up, just go on automatic pilot and couldnt care less to know what your concerns are. In strong contrast to that, Bill Laitys crew really WERE a an integrated landscaping outfit, from start to finish. Theyre sharp and on the ball, know whats going on and are professionals in their own right. I really have to say, it was just a pleasure dealing with all of them and quite frankly I ve already got another project in mind that we re going to hire Bill and his crew for this coming fall. He s that good; and I have no intention of looking any further. Really, how often can you say you implicitly trust the professionals you hired? Well I sure do, these people rock. Overall and on a scale of 1 to 10, I would have to give Integrated Landscaping a solid 11. If you hire Bill and his crews, you re going to get friendly, personable, honest and absolutely consummate professionals who deliver everything they promise. They missed absolutely nothing, and the whole experience was a solid home run as far as I m concerned. And no, this guy isn t my brother in law or something, I just met him a few months ago. If you think all this still sounds a bit over the top and even somewhat incredible, I m glad you re starting to get the accurate picture. I m dead serious. Bill and his crew really helped get our place looking great and working well. They removed dead shrubs and trees, planted dozens of rhodos and perennials, and an evergreen screen. They improved drainage around our house and put in plantings to obscure an unsightly utility pole. A particularly impressive event occurred when we lost a rhodo to last summers drought and Bill veritably raced to our house to replace it! An outstanding company all around.

I cant say enough great things about Bill and his crew. We have been plagued with a mysterious flooding issue in our renovated office since we moved into our house. With the floods that Asheville experienced at the end of December we found ourselves in a devastating situation. In fall/early winter, 2013, we had Bill Laity and his crew correct the drainage in our backyard, including repairing a drainage culvert, landscaping and sodding of grass as well as adjustments to/re-routing of drainage of downspouts all around our house. They did an outstanding job and were timely, courteous, efficient and very professional! At a later date we also had them install on the sides and back of our house, stone walkways and stairs. Again, we were very impressed with the quality of their work, with the end product being very functional, solid and beautiful. Throughout they listened to and appropriately responded to our input and questions. Overall, the work they did for us - drainage, repairs of culvert, landscaping, sodding of grass, downspout adjustments, stone walkways and stairs - improved the functionality and beauty of our house and yard. After they completed their work, we have received many compliments on our backyard from neighbors and visitors. We would definitely hire them again for similar or related work around our house!
