Avoid these scam artist! They didn’t show up when they said they would. Then they come in my property trespassing to claim they cut the grass I already had cut. They will nickle and dime and bill you. AVOID AT ALL COST!
Horrible customer support. I’ve called 4times today, spoke to two different people they transferred me twice. Got left on hold for over 15 min each time in a line with no music no message saying you are still helping others. No way to get out of it to leave message. The other times I called I was not able to get anyone in line at all just a air after you click an option. I’ve tried multiple options etc. I tried to purchase additional lawn care for a friend who was using your service who is dealing with a very ill child and cannot take care of lawn. You lost their business
Use this company if you want to hire a company to cut your grass but end up doing it yourself. Terrible reliability - no shows - endless excuses - I hired them for the 2022 cutting season after 1 cut they kept cancelling as my grass grew longer. I terminated service and just did it myself. Gave them a second chance this year 2023 - again 1 cut and 4 excuses and pushed off two weeks. Im terminating service permanently. This company is all talk and show with their app but the absolute worst in customer service. AVOID - there are many other options.
LawnStarter was a non-starter. I was leaving for a business trip and wanted to get the lawn mowed before I left. I made my first appt with them and they promised to send a crew to my house to get it done by the time I was to leave. Without telling me, they cancelled my appt and rescheduled for the following week when I would be gone. I had to call them to find this out. Not only that, I would have to pay a lot more for the mow because the grass would have grown beyond 6 inches. This is my first experience with LawnStarter and they have proved to be unreliable. They wasted my time. Update: Now, finally, after 11 months they respond. Seriously?
I have had nothing but a great experience with Lawn Starter services. They have been very professional and continue to do great work at every visit. I feel very confident that when an appointment is set that they will do their best to be there. Of course mother nature is mother nature and things can change, but I have had them directly contact me to let me know that they have rescheduled due to the weather. They have informed me to changes and never leave me in the dark. I appreciate their work and services and will continue to use them.

The crew does a great job every time and are very professional. They really pay attention to detail and don't skimp out on the edging. But what really sets LawnStarter apart is the open line of communication. Someone is always available to take my call and scheduling is like clock work. The online portal makes managing their service easier than any other company. Whether I want to switch mowing dates or get a quote for mulching or leaf removal, all you do is log on to your account and click a few buttons. Any time it rains they always send an email with confirmation of when the make up cut will be. In the past with other companies, dealing with weather delays was a big problem. LawnStarter solved that and other headaches by adding some modern technology to their system. With all that said, the most important part is still that they do quality work and I've been more than satisfied.
After graduation, I moved to the Washington D.C. area for a full time job. In addition, I balance a vibrant social life with several yoga and cooking classes per week, so I'm too busy to take care of my lawn! My co-worker Rachael recommended this new company, LawnStarter. I went to their website and got a quote, and it seemed decently priced, so I took a chance and contracted lawn care through them for that week. They called me to set up an appointment, which we set up for two days out. The service that week was awesome, and I liked how the representatives walked me through the process. It was a lot more effortless than other local providers. Another big benefit of LawnStarter compared to other options is the lack of effort I need to put in. I really don't need to do anything, which is great, because I want to focus on my work and my yoga, not my lawn. It's easy to change up the service through their software too. Overall, I have no complaints. Great work!
Avoid at all cost! Scammers, will bill you for incomplete work, trespass on your property, and straight up lie about how things happened. Save yourself.

Sketchy, sketchy company. I called for a quote then decided I didnt like their stipulations or price so told the person no thank you, Ill hold off and we ended the call on a nice note. I then posted on Nextdoor asking if neighbors had recommendations for lawn service. A few minutes later I received a text from an unknown number (Google showed no results associated, not even lawnstarter) and it was worded as if it was a random person, not a company. Hey, I saw you were looking for mowing at (my address)? I freaked out a little bit not knowing if someone from Nextdoor found my address and number or if lawnstarter gave my number out. I ignored it because its obviously creepy to have an unknown number text you your address and not even represent themselves as a business. Then two hours later I received a message saying they could lower my service by $30 for the first mow with a lawnstarter link attached. I might have given in and scheduled if theyd texted with their info and said it was a newcomer deal or something but the fact that they tried to trick me into responding to an unknown number just made it so uncomfortable and made them seem really dishonest. This convinced me to just do it myself. For the cost of two lawn mowings I can buy a lawnmower myself and not have to worry about locked gates, my dogs, or having strangers at my house.
The most dishonest and unreliable company I ever encountered. My husband called last week and sign in as new customer. The crew supposed to come on Mon or Tue (Carlos Alba from CA Lawnservices). Nobody came, I got a message that says No parking available. I have a very long trailer not enough space. I couldnt believe it because we have a HUGE private driveway and a 48 foot truck delivered our furniture when we moved. So I think Carlos trailer is longer than 48 foot. A new team was dispatched: Brandon Escobar for Wed- Thu. Surprise: never came, never replied to my messages. I called at their office and the lady who answered was nice, but NOT HELPFUL at all. She had no idea about the time/ date/ team. A few hours ago Im getting a message that Brandon had an unexpected problem and I my NEW crew is conducted by Terrence Hawkins. Meanwhile the grass in my yard is 15 inch long and its the most messy yard in the neighborhood. Do yourself a service and get a reliable company.
SCAM!!!GO SOMEWHERE ELSE!!!!!!Not only have I cancelled, but also this app they ask you to download is telling me someone mowed my lawn and charged me for it when nobody showed up. This is unacceptable, and should not be a legit business. CROOKS
I recently started using lawnstarter, and at first i had no complaints until they switched my lawn mowing company. The new company came out and blew some debri and cracked my window. I completed the property damage report by the app but it has been over a week and no one has gotten intouch with me about replacement or reimbursement of my window. Im truly displeased with the service i have received thus far from them.
ZERO customer service. I have tried unsuccessfully to reach someone to speak to on the phone or through the app. Impossible. The phone calls just go nowhere. Don t call these people.

Lawn starter put me in contact with a local lawn professional company, Green Sun. They have been very easy to work with and flexible with my schedule. Communication with James the owner has been very prompt through the Lawnstarter app. James even arrived during the second mowing to ensure I was happy with the service and asked if I had any other questions or concerns.
Orlando always shows up when he says. Its nice to come home to fresh cut grass. Orlando never leaves a mess. I can only tell he has been to my house because of my beautiful yard.
I made the huge mistake of trusting the reviews of LawnStarter and giving them a chance. The crew that came to my house was supposed to remove a bush from the backyard. Despite my careful instructions they got rid of the wrong bush (in fact, they removed a small tree instead) and then refused to take responsibility. As if that werent enough they charged me for services they didnt even perform and Im currently trying to dispute those charges through my credit card company. This is insane! Ive never encountered worse customer service.

I just moved to the DC area and was in search for a lawn mowing service. I found LawnStarter via word of mouth and went through their online estimation process. After I checked out they called (took them like 5 minutes) to schedule the appointment. I must say that I didnt know what to expect since i had not ever gotten lawn care service before, but they were certainly polite and were able to service my lawn that week. They have done a great job every time they come, and I definitely like not having to deal with it. Also they accept credit cards which is super nice, considering my other home service providers will only accept cash. Recently they started sending emails when lawn service is rescheduled, which is nice that I am actually kept in the loop. When it comes down to it, the quality of work and the convenience of not having to deal with yard work makes ordering service through them 100% worth it. Thanks guys!
I ve been using their lawn care service for this whole year and they ve been awesome! I rarely leave reviews, so the fact I am doing this should tell you how good of an experience i ve had. I originally bought an Amazon local deal from them to use while I was on vacation. I wasn t really expecting much considering how cheap the promotion was ($59 for a month of mowing) but they didn t skimp at all! I wasn t planning on continuing after the deal but they did such a great job I figured I would continue. Now they come on a biweekly basis and my lawn looks better each time. I finally gave away my lawn mower and I would like to thank LawnStarter for giving me hours of my life back now that I don t have to worry about my lawn care.
Ive never ordered lawn care service until now. Ive been in college the last couple of years, but since moving to D.C. for law school, I wanted to start doing responsible things, i.e. acting like an adult. However, Im lazy (meaning Im too busy for any extra work). I certainly dont want to mow my lawn (I dont think I would know how to mow my lawn). So I wanted to hire somebody to do it. I didnt want somebody sketchy, though. LawnStarter had good reviews, so I thought Id check them out. I got on the phone and they swiftly scheduled my first lawn care service for like 2 days out. Not the cheapest out there, but not a bad price, and Id rather have better service so I dont have to worry about it down the line. The first job they did was perfect, and I didnt have to coordinate anything! Its easy to change up your account to, which is awesome with D.C.s bipolar weather. If it rains a bunch, I can schedule extra service, and I can delay service if I want too. For my first time scheduling my own lawn care services, I feel like I lucked out. Its super easy, which, for a busy law school student, is all I ask. 5 stars.
Lawnstarter is one of the better Arlington lawn care companies Ive worked with. They are very professional and do a good job on the lawn! Aside from 1 or 2 communication errors, I dont have any complaints. Pricing is better than other lawn services too.
