Our experience with Great Outdoors is fantastic! Avery is responsive and really listened to what I wanted and gave me good advice. The quote was definitely not the cheapest we got but Avery was able to write up a detailed plan that made me feel comfortable moving forward with them. I had to add a couple of things to the job and Avery was able to respond to my requests. When job started, I am very impressed by the work ethic of Jaime and Eusebio! They are the total rock stars!!! Jaime and Eusebio showed up everyday and knew exactly what they needed to do and built a beautiful patio for me. They are punctual, kind, nice, and professional throughout the process and clearly took pride in their work. Our neighbours kept telling us how impressed they are with GO s work and especially with the professionalism of Jaime and Eusebio. While we still have other jobs on the list waiting to be completed by Great Outdoors, my husband and I are already thinking about our next projects with them! p.s. will come back to post photos when the grass have grown back :p

We had a patio and front walk replaced. Caesars team was a pleasure to work with. They worked 8am-7pm every day and were careful with the yard, plants etc, always asked us for input as they went, and made adjustments and corrections when asked. The patio and walk look amazing; were so happy with the colors, design, and execution.

We are so pleased with the landscape design done by Avery with the careful selection of the scrubs and the beautiful landscape completed by Jaime, Roberto, Eusebio and Fernando with Great Outdoors. They all worked diligently through really hot weather and worked long hours to complete the work. We re so pleased with the end results and we would highly recommend Great Outdoors!!

Last summer, we went with Great Outdoors for our patio, bed prep and the planting of a few trees. It was a pretty miserable experience with a lot of missteps and sloppy work along the way. Among other issues, the bed prep was woefully inadequate and now, this spring, other landscaping companies are telling us they can t plant in our yard due to the poorly done bed prep (Great Outdoors gave us significantly less than the expected six inches of bed prep). As a result, when my wife planted just a few tulips and daffodils late last summer, we had to dig out a bunch of the clay (see photo) and add in our own soil. After hearing from multiple landscaping companies early this spring about how screwed we were, we asked Great Outdoors to come out and take a look with us. The Great Outdoors owner acknowledged that there wasn t enough soil and asked to confer with his employees who were directly involved in the work last summer. After discussing it with them, he offered to drop off some soil for us. We replied that this would still leave us with the cost of removing the mulch, adding in the new soil, and tilling it in, all of which were supposed to be part of the original bed prep; we didn t think it would be fair for us to eat the thousands of dollars of correcting their job that wasn t done properly. We haven t heard back from the owner since then. I d advise people to stay away from Great Outdoors. Plenty of people in town have had far better experiences with other local landscaping companies.

We hired Great Outdoors when our yard really, really needed to be mowed. I was sure the city was going to fine us at any moment. The grass was probably over two feet in places. Demetrio and Daniel were so thorough--they mowed, edged, weed whacked, and even collected all of the clippings. Our yard has never looked better and neighbors have been commenting on it all week! Within a few hours they took us from worst yard in the neighborhood to one of the best!

Jeremy with Great Outdoors keeps our yard looking like one of the nicest in the neighborhood. He does a terrific job of mowing, trimming and cleaning up. He is friendly, polite and dependable and takes a real professional interest in his job. He doesn t cut the lawn too short and uses a push mower when there are super wet areas. We can t ask for more with our lawn care and his great service. Really appreciate the work done by Jeremy and Great Outdoors!

I recently had significant landscaping and tree service work done by Great Outdoors. The crew under the leadership of Francisco Evsebrio and Jaime Damatrio arrived at 8 am and continued working until after 6 pm until the work was completed. They completely replanted a rock garden which had deteriorated across time, repaired some damaged decorative trees and replaced another. I am very pleased with the transformation of my worn, older landscaping. The crew was efficient, professional. This spring Great Outdoors continues to care for last years updated landscaping beds in a professional, effective way. I feel comfortable that Great Outdoors will care for my property and it s plant life.

Cortney, Haley, and Savanah were wonderful. They were polite, professional, hardworking, and did an amazing job trimming/weeding the large amount of plants and trees around our property. They also thoroughly cleaned up afterward, which was very important to us. Great Outdoors crews have always met and/or exceeded our expectations. We are happy to be loyal customers!

My experience with Great Outdoors has been very good. In fact this is the second time I ve used them. Working with their landscaper, Becca, and her ideas for improving our backyard was a great help. The landscape crew, Francisco and Alanso, were hard workers and knew how to get the job done. They were on time, always ready to listen to my concerns and suggestions, and explained what they were doing and answered my question. The backyard is finished and I could not be happier with the results.

Francisco and Alonso did a great job! They went out of their way to carefully and thoughtfully renovate bluestone walkways and patio and also expertly placed and planted a new tree. We would definitely employ them again!

I had three new viburnum bushes planted which need watering, given the excessive heat prediction. I needed assistance setting up the hose and watering system. Michael was so helpful and set up everything for me as I am not able to manage that. Now, my new bushes should thrive thanks to Michael who went out of his way for me. He is wonderful!!! Our experience with the Great Outdoors team, led by Mason and including Reese, Henry and Jorge was five star. All the guys were responsive to our changes in plans as they went along. Mason answered all our questions, was extremely courteous and seemed to lead a team working well together. Reese showed us tips on watering which was much appreciated. We have a lovely yard and appreciate all the hard work. It was a pleasure having them on our property. Good luck Mason and the rest of the team. We highly recommend these guys as well as Avery who helped us plan our lovely garden.

We had Mason and Reece install a French Drain system for us, and the project was seamless. Both were very knowledgeable and answered all of my questions. Im pretty handy and thought about doing the project myself, but Im glad I didnt, as I would have certainly cut through a few irrigation and communication lines.

Mason and Reece provided excellent workmanship, always courteous and making certain we, as homeowners, were satisfied at each step of our landscaping project. They, together with the project manager, were very skillful in the process of placing rather large boulders artistically into the landscape. They were also quite accomplished in repairing paver steps, rebuilding a rock barrier and finishing the project with plantings and mulch.

Best landscaper in Ann Arbor! Alonzo, Francisco and Reid were way above expectations. And I ve used plenty of others over the past 45 years. Great support from office staff and Avery most helpful in developing the projects.

Francisco has worked at my house a number of times and I have always been impressed with his friendliness and the quality of his work. He even came by after hours to make sure a transplant was done properly!

I just contracted with Great Outdoors for lawn maintenance and trimming. Jay (crew #6) came today for the first time, and we went around the yard to talk about what I wanted. He was polite and attentive. Things were a little scraggly, and he was here for a while doing the work. But when hed finished, I had to go out to tell him that that the yard looked spectacular--exactly what Id wanted, and better than Id expected. I highly recommend Great Outdoors and this crew.

Amber is amazingly knowledgeable in horticulture and Devin s mowing and other lawn care is very detail oriented and thorough. We love Devon s all ELECTRIC mowing equipment, even the truck is electric, so quiet too. I sincerely hope that they will be converting to more electric mowing teams soon!

Mollie and Cortnee did a great job giving our yard a much needed cleaning and refresh! They were incredibly knowledgeable and and taught us so much about what is growing in our yard! We had an overgrown area that they got under control quickly and according to our budget. They followed every direction and gave me really helpful information so I could make decisions about what to clear and what to keep. They took the time to show me where there was some poison ivy growing and gave me tips to identify it. Friendly, professional, and talented! Following up to say we booked a spring cleaning and Spenser L and the team did such a great job! I set a time limit for the project to keep to our budget. They got twice as much done as I expected and I was really impressed. They were very attentive to directions and left my yard looking great!

Ive been a Great Outdoors customer for more than 15 years and theyve consistent done a great job on my landscaping projects, lawn care, snow removal! Cesar just showed up in the middle of a bad snow storm and took extra care to clear my driveway and sidewalk with a cheerful smile and a wave. Highly recommend them for all of your lawncare needs!

During a snow storm, Erwin (crew #150) was driving by as my car was stuck. He helped by plowing my way back home. I was able to get home safely in the snow. He was very kind and considerate. I would definitely recommend Great Outdoors as they are willing to help without hesitation.

Im really pleased with the work that Great Outdoors has done for us! Devin not only takes his time with our oddly shaped lawns, but he also makes sure to leave the entire property looking neat and clean with the trimmer and leaf blower. This has been especially appreciated over the last couple of weeks as the recent storms have brought down quite a bit of debris.

Shout out to Luke (crew #4) who mowed lawn Monday. He also took a few extra minutes to explain the value of completing this review. Isaac and Reece did a great job on several projects on our property over the last two weeks

We had a dozen trees taken out and hired Great Outdoors to do our lawn restoration. Erwin and Isaac did a great job on day 1 tilling the soil and removing all the tree roots. On day 2 Javier and Jorge spent a lot of time spreading soil, grading and seeding. Two weeks later and the new lawn is coming in nicely. Looks great.

Great outdoors recently renovated my entire front-yard landscaping and did a wonderful job. Javier & Reece were thorough, hard-working, and polite through the whole process. It was a pretty big project too that they were able to get done in 1 day only. Additionally, the overall price of the project was half than other quotes I received from other A2 based landscapers, and the quality is way better than what the others were proposing. The staff at Great Outdoors is super easy to work with, polite, and responsive, which is all you can ask for when working on these big projects. We just recently had an incredible amount of snow and Great Outdoors did a GREAT job of keeping our driveway clean! The icing on the cake had to be the cheerful demeanor that Amber Garrison contributed. Her personal touch to accommodate nuances that are unique to our driveway really made the difference. Great people are what make the Great Outdoors different.

Great Outdoors provided lawn mowing and weeding at my home this past summer. The crew were professional, hard-working and got the job done well. Link is especially a super-star. He goes above and beyond! Rebecca in the office is another super-star. She handled my quote and other small requests with ease and professionalism. Overall, very happy with their services and will seek to retain them again for next year.

Great Outdoors recently did some work to help with yard drainage and create a beautiful outdoor space for us in the process. Javier and crew were awesome - friendly, professional and hard working. Even after a LONG day on the job, they took the time to clean up, going above and beyond to leave our property looking great. Also, Avery at the office was incredibly responsive and kept us informed throughout the process. We havent had a heavy rain since the work was done, and Im anxious to see how the drainage solution works. A prior contractor did very sloppy work that left me in a worse place than when I started. That is clearly not how Great Outdoors works. Highly recommend!

Great Outdoors was absolutely awesome. Cesar was our crew lead and did an amazing job.

Mason, Reece, Javier, and Lucas did a fantastic job clearing out old foliage, installing new design content around three sides of our house, and installing a couple stone landings off our deck. Our designer Avery listened to us and provided guidance on content, in line with the look we desired, and he followed up later to make adjustments on one landing for us, to adjust for settling and prevent a trip hazard.

We worked with Aaron on the design and site management; and Jaime Eusebio and his brother did a beautiful install of a Bluestone Walkway, lighting and Beds with edging. The work they did was superb and exceeded our expectations. They were on time, worked long days and took alot of pride in how it looked. Site was cleaned up daily and was kept tidy during the whole process. Would hire them again without hesitation.

Javier and Reece removed 2 stumps for me. They were prompt, efficiently dug out the stumps, and left both beds cleaned up. They were professional, answered all of my questions, and were courteous & friendly. Thanks for the great job, Javier and Reece!

Great Outdoors installed a permeable paver patio for us, and they also shaped and mulched the border gardens along our fence line. We have worked with a lot of contractors the last few years, and this was one of the best experiences weve had - no micro-managing the install, and the final product is impeccable! They also did a great job with clean-up afterward. Jake was our crew leader, and he and his crew were very professional. I had a couple questions while the work was in progress. Jake took time to walk me through everything. He was very detail-oriented, and it was clear he cared about the quality of the install as well as our satisfaction. Including a before picture and two afters. Cant believe this is the same yard, and Im so excited to spend our summer out here!

Great Experience! Between weather, Covid, and staffing, it took some time to actually schedule the work. But once it did happen, it went smoothly and efficiently, with brilliant results. Mike did great working up front with us, and Jake did the work with speed, skill, and made it look beautiful. Kudos to all, especially to Jake - he loves his job, and it shows in his work. A pleasure to work them all.

I switched my lawn service to Great Outdoors this year and all my expectations have been surpassed. Brandon has done an outstanding job cutting my lawn. He is so courteous and professional and always receptive to any requests. When he didnt know to cut the grass between the driveway of me and my neighbor, he returned early the next day after my call to cut it. He apologized to me personally even though I had forgotten to instruct him to cut that area. Very impressed with the professional and customer service approach of Great Outdoors! I highly recommend them.

We had an extensive project at a home we moved into last fall and Avery was professional and responsive throughout the entire process. Cesar Sanchez worked incredibly hard to finish the work without delay, even with days of unexpected rain! The finished landscape and flagstone patio are beautiful and have surpassed our expectations. We re now working with Avery to install an outdoor fireplace later this summer/fall and can t wait!

Great company with a lot of experience

I did not have a good experience with this company. Not great customer service and much more focused on their bottom line.

We had a great experience installing a stone walkway and stairs! When Mike came out to quote the job, he took time to listen to what we wanted for the space, and offer us suggestions that incorporated what we wanted. When Jake and his crew came out to build it, they were professional and efficient! They kept us informed every step of the way and even transplanted some ground cover plants we had planned to move after the walkway was completed. It looks even better than we had imagined it could! Weve been with Great Outdoors for a few years now and we couldnt be happier. Other companies weve been with havent come close to the Great Outdoors level of professionalism. The office staff are great and Randy (Crew #5) cuts our lawn beautifully. Their attention to detail is top notch. Randy even fixed a hole in my fence the other day so my dog wouldnt escape. I guarantee you wont get that type of service from other companies.

Stephen (crew #2) does a fantastic time every time they come out to our house. Always very professional and they always leave the lawn looking spectacular. They even edge and blow off our driveways! Thank you!

Our experience with Great Outdoors is that they do a great job of standard lawns, and likewise know how to resurrect lawns that are ailing. Dan (#4) didnt miss a beat, was always on time, and gave ample attention to our lawn in general and the parts of it that needed it most. It couldnt have been easy to mow along the sides of our house which are at a steep angle, but he did an admirable job of it.

Weve been using this company for three years with no plans to stop. Our yard looks great, the mowing is perfect but the edging really makes everything else sing. Yesterday in particular leaf collection coincided with lawn service and I was very proud to have such a lovely lawn on our block. Stephen and crew 2 are the best!

Arturo always has a smile and wave for me. He and his crew (#3) do a great job keeping our yard looking good all summer long. Its been five years already and we arent looking anywhere else!

Randy and Crew #5 are great. They are professionally and consistently doing beautiful jobs with our lawn. In addition to nice cut all over, they are paying special attention to the areas that need special care, such as low wet spots. They clean the sidewalk and driveway very well too. We have contracted with Great Outdoors for many years with no plan to change.

Arturo and Luke come each week to cut our grass and generally clean up the surroundings. I appreciate their work--especially that they blow the detritus off of the porches.

We had just an incredible experience with Mike and his team at Great Outdoors constructing our outdoor kitchen and patio. Mike did a fantastic job working with us with the design layout. He displayed incredible patience with our multiple iterations. He was always cognizant of costs and offered great suggestions that were cost sensitive.. After the design was complete, the team led by Daniel were thorough in their efforts - true craftsmen. Jamie, Mario, Eusebio all were excellent contributors, working through difficult weather conditions of rain and extreme heat. The finished product was outstanding. We had two separate outside companies (sprinkler company and outdoor furniture delivery) both comment on how the patio quality was the best they had seen. Thanks Great Outdoors!

Brett and crew 145 did a great job in this last snowstorm we had, plowing our drive multiple times and sometimes very late at night or before dawn. Their summertime lawn crew does a fantastic job, too.

I have been using Great Outdoors since I moved to the Polo Fields subdivision in Ann Arbor in 2001 and am using them at our new home in Whitmore Lake. They quality of their work is fantastic!! Their pricing is also fair because they get the job done quickly in a quality manner and the people who do the work are very nice to deal with and are very polite. Jaime H. Montalvo and Eusebio Agosto just finished a deck behind my pole barn using pavers I already had. They did a fantastic quality job, are very nice to work with and have a great sense of humor. Mike was so great...he spent alot of time (and 29 emails!) helping me design a garden wall. Then his team did a marvelous job building it. They even raked my leaves when they were done! I couldnt have asked for a better outcome or a better experience. I proudly give the Great Outdoors name to anyone who comments on my garden wall.

Great Outdoors does a great job of keeping my driveway clear of snow even when we have over 14 inches! They even go the extra mile to come back again to clear away all the road snow that the street plow shoves into my driveway. I really appreciate their prompt and efficient service and their polite and professional approach to serving their customers.

I used them for my lawn maintenance for roughly two years. We recently had to part ways because the owner employs peeping toms. We have had a few issues in the past that never came to much, but I should have known a year ago to stop using them. They mowed/weed whacked some young flowers down and also have knocked down a small garden ornament. Most recently, I called to complain about the person who mowed my lawn a couple days ago. I actually walked up onto my deck and started looking in my window wall. I did not see him look, but my two children did. I did see him walking off of my deck though. I came in the house and my kids were FREAKED OUT about him looking in the window. I called them and was told that the lady who answers the phone was waiting to hear from the crew supervisor about my complaint. When she finally called me back, she tried to tell me that the person doing my lawn care wasnt looking in my window, but was actually just going slow because he was trying not to cover my neighbors in grass. My response was that isnt true, because my neighbors are on the NORTH side of my house and the side with my deck is on the SOUTH side. I then asked for that crew not to come back to my home and was told that I am not allowed to make such a request. It was suggested that I speak to the owner. I called back and was told that we were hearing about discussions that other people had. I did agree to that and explained about my kids seeing him look in the window and also me seeing him leaving his deck. So to make a long story short, the crew supervisor that they called WAS NOT ACTUALLY AT MY HOUSE. I cant express enough how horrible this experience was. PLEASE do not hire them. I believe I may be the first person to complain about basic lawn maintenance, but I have been viewing plenty of poor reviews about their snow removal and complex lawn care.

I requested and received a snow plowing and salt quote for this season. I chose to go with another company because it was slightly cheaper. This morning when I arrived at my business it had not yet been plowed. My store was opening in ten minutes and I wanted to make sure my customers would have a clear path. My plow guy said he wouldnt be able to come for another hour and a half! That was an unacceptable answer. I searched through the quotes I had received and chose to call Great Outdoors. Mike answered right away (6:45 AM) and told me someone would be able to come out and plow in fifteen minutes. Not only did they come and plow that quickly but they were very thorough and courteous. I would highly recommend this company.
