Don’t use this company. Shady busness practices. Was charged for service visits where no work was preformed. Apparently it was part of my contract I should have read. This was my first and last summer with crew cut.
Hired them for weekly mowing last summer. They did an okay job on the grass but damaged some things on my property like gutter downspouts, and an exposed cord near the street connected to a light pole. They also displaced displaced a rail road tie acting as a soil retainer. Anyway, they sent out an estimate to resume services this summer and I asked for every other week because my lawn is very shady doesn't grow quickly and they said they would have to send someone out to do another estimate. I laughed on the phone at how ridiculous it was to come to my house again to do an estimate to change from weekely to every other week. They did it anyway and told me the new quote which was 30% more expensive per mow to come every other week versus every week. They claimed the increase was because the grass would be overgrown and it's too hard to schedule every other week. I explained the lawn is in the shade and would not overgrow in that time and they just repeated the same nonsense. I don't even care about the cost difference I just don't want to give money to people who do business like that.
We were with Crew Cut Lawns for quite a few years and had them do our snow plowing. The staff was always friendly and accommodating. We did have billing issues as others had mentioned, but were always able to get them straightened out and we gave them the benefit of the doubt. The reason for the poor review was that they dropped us in October for our usual snow removal service. Apparently, they didn't want to plow our driveway due to the volume of traffic on the road. That was understandable, even though they had plowed it for the past 5 or 6 years. We asked if they could shovel or snowblow the driveway, but they were not willing to do so. We asked if they could continue plowing the back parking area and clearing the walkways. They declined, stating "due to past issues with snow pile placement and limited space, we will no longer be able to service your property for winter." We've had the property for 11 years and have always had places for the snow and the property layout hasn't changed since we bought it. Despite being a loyal customer and making every effort to understand billing mistakes and safety concerns, our regular contract was canceled at a time when finding a replacement has been almost impossible.
I’m a property manager and was having them mow 3 lawns. Paid every time they sent an invoice. Called to cancel service in September and had them send the final invoice. They did. I paid it. One month later they send another invoice for all 3 lawns totaling almost $600. Lady on the phone was rude and unwilling to figure out why. Said she would send the years invoices for me to figure it out.
I'm prompted to post this because a friend in Eagle River was planning to hire them. She had problems right away. I hire them a couple of years ago after responding to a flyer on my door. It took a while for them to show up and when they did they failed to do the agreed upon work on my property then sent the bill to collections. After seeing my property and making the bid, they later claimed they didn't do yards with dog waste, even though he verbally agreed and even saw my dog. There was a tiny sentence at the bottom of the contract stating that they didn't do yards with dogs. They mowed my front lawn and left, then wanted $100 for mowing a small yard.
Called to get a simple quote to clean up pet waste. The employee said we didn’t have an account, which I already knew. Asked the address and my name. Stated there was an account but not in my name. Okay? Went down the rabbit hole of do we have permission from our landlord to have service done? Seriously? All I want is to clean my yard
Their price point and services are good for lawn cutting. However their billing process/invoices aren't the most simple/clear. And if you sign up for auto-payment, double check on when it will take effect...it's not instant and could skip a month depending on when you signed up (I recommend that you take the extra steps to follow up with their front office).
Been using Crew Cut a few years now for spring clean up and they’ve always done a nice job. This summer, with working way more hours than usual I hired them to do the weekly mowing and trimming as well! They were prompt every Wednesday and did an excellent job! After their first week I called to have the service adjusted slightly with some attention to detail on a particular part of my yard, and they took that note and it was done as requested every week after that! Was an excellent summer of excellent workmanship! Will absolutely use crew cut again, as well as recommend to anyone who asks!
Update:The plants have been tested through an arborist and are all positive for the herbicide they used They came out to spray for dandelions and killed half my gates in perrinial garden, some in the front yard, and my apple tree near that area is dropping fruit. I asked them what they used before hand but the lady that answers the phone didnt know. Its 2,4D. Those should have been covered or protected and they should not have sprayed near flowers or trees on a hot or windy day. Easily 30 perrinnials including my sons rose bushes. They denied any wrong doing. The dandelion leaves are dead/dying in exactly the same manner as the garden and the front perrinnials. Curled leaves turning brown. Thats been a healthy garden since 2017. Update: I have since had my dead garden tested by an arborist and all of my dead and dying perrinnials and apple tree were positive for the herbicide 2,4d they used in the front yard.
DO NOT HIRE!! Unethical business- damaged property and refuses to cover the cost. Would never want anyone to go through the same thing- beyond horrible experience!

Incompetent business mowed the wrong lawn and the idiots walk and mowed right through my grass seed beds where I replanted grass seeds . You were to mow the lawn next door , didn t need my lawn mowed we did it yesterday . I called and left a message and you didn t even return my call . You deserve negative 0 rating. Caveate Emptor !!

Not impressed at all. Didn t do a good job and didn t complete. My kids probably could off done a better job. My neighbors watched them and asked us later what company we used so they won t use them. Not great. Won t use again

Killed my rose garden.
I replied to a flyer left on my door. I talked to the office two times about a quote stating I only wanted leaf raking and bagging with removal, no lawn Care fertilizer or lime absolutely no lawn Care! When they got to my house, my wife told them no fertilizer or lime again. We got a bill in the mail that included fertilizer and lime! I called the office and told them that theres an error and we told them three times that we did not want fertilizer or lime or any sort of lawn care service other than pick up the leaves and remove the bags. Their resolve was not to admit their fault, but to give me a 10% discount. I rejected this because it implies that I did something wrong as a customer! So in principle, Ill be paying the entire bill and not using their service again. The leaf raking and bag removal was excellent otherwise.

Excellent service
Recently had Crew Cut Lawns come and do a Spring Clean Up service to my yard. They showed up when they were supposed to, worked hard and diligently, finished in a timely and efficient manner and displayed excellent workmanship quality.
Fraudulently charged for a service that wasn t provided and then the manager wouldn t answer the phone to discuss but rather sent a condescending email. Avoid at all costs!
Crew cut ran over my cable, did not clean up the yard, left twigs and debris in my rock beds. Did not like there work.
They were trying to charge us for services they did not do. We were trying to pay online and they had not fixed the invoice and charge me 410. They told us to pay for the 410 and will refund the 90 dollars. I would not recommend this company
I called and got set up with a free estimate for the next day. The guy who came out was very polite and knowledgeable. I was able to get on the schedule that same week! The guys that come always do a great job. I would recommend crew cut lawns to everyone.
Warning watch this company closely. Lawn service is ok, nothing special. Watch their Accounting department they dont understand basic accounting. They dont Know how to do an account audit. Found this out when I ask for an audit after being called three times (two to three days apart) requesting payment on the same bill, which they were able to find during the call after I told them that it was paid. I never received the audit, the only thing I received was a copy of the last bill. Still dont know if the bill was ever correct. Suggest using Two season lawn Service. Watch them close if you use them.

Best lawn care service company out there!!! They take the time to go above and beyond the customers service and get every little thing they possibly can!!! Highly recommend!! If youre not apart of crew cut then what are you really paying for!?!?!
My wife and I tried for weeks and weeks to get Crew Cut Lawns to take care of our yard. They are completely unresponsive, and utterly uninterested in doing business. I would not recommend them at all, as they re totally unreliable. You d have better luck convincing a moose to mow your yard, seriously.
The young gentleman that came to my home for the free estimate was very polite and respectful. When the yard crew came to my house they went right to work. I wish they would have checked in before they left (since I was home) I also wish I would have had them do a weed spray(which was not included) They did not trim up around my garden paths or clean up the edges of the lawn or pavers. The result being the yard just did not look neat and finished. I found them to be on the expensive side at $390 and felt the job was just not done with as much care and attention to detail that the price warranted. I used Nordic Lawns the year before and was really impressed, I expected equal quality but sadly Crew Cut fell short.

When I had the front and back yard done for spring cleanup, we had to have them come back because my husband said it, looked like a 10 year old subcontracted out to a 6 year old. Not only did they wait until the very last day of their week-long estimate of when theyd get out to my house (which is a mile away), they worked for maybe 20 minutes before they left, not even bothering to ask me if I wanted to take a look or if I was satisfied with the service. My husband was right, they didnt even try. The lawn had wide swaths of uncut grass and they didnt get the bags of debris I asked them to haul away. When I called to cite the issues (I thought I had been clear on the phone but I guess not), the manager just said his employees were human and laughed it off. Oh really? I had assumed they were marmots. Silly me. Aside from it being self-evident, it wasnt a good answer. They came back to fix their error and it STILL looked like the work of a small child. Heck, Im pretty sure my 6 year old daughter could do a better job. At least my bags were hauled away....yay. Cant wait to get the 100 dollar bill in the mail for 20 dollars worth of actual work. To the manager: Your employees are human, as you said. So am I, sir. I happen to be a human who is spending hard-earned money for a service that you provide. Your human employees job is to quite simply do the one thing I paid them to do. Nothing more, nothing less. That being said, Im going to a less screwy company until robots that can auto-mow your lawn are invented and I dont have to deal with any of this idiocy. I cant wait until were all phased out by robots because humans dont seem to want to honestly work anymore. We deserve robot overlords at this juncture.
Baffled at how they conducted themselves. I dont even know where to begin without sounding petty. My main issue... Dont give quotes on weekly rates just to turn around and give another quote when its time to cut the grass. Shady
Crew cut lawns goes the extra mile for their clients. I requested for my lawn to get mowed and because of the rotation they said they wouldnt be able to get to it until next week. However, I came home to a beautifuly cut lawn this evening. Thanks for squeezing us in your busy schedule!! I highly recommend their service!
I am very disappointed in the service I received. I had multiple plants in a garden bed mowed down. When I called to report the response I received was sorry Ill talk to the guys. My plants that I paid for and spent all summer growing were destroyed.
Terrible!!!! They did a great job last year so I thought I would sign up again for another year of snow removal and lawn service. I scheduled the initial lawn service and they came out without issue. I ensured then that I was on the weekly rotation. After two weeks of no mowing I called to verify that I was still on the rotation. I was guaranteed that I was and that they would be out in a couple of days. Another week of overgrown lawn I called again and they guaranteed that they would be out the next day. Its been a week since that occurred and I guarantee that I will NEVER use Crew Cut Lawn service for anything. I could never recommend a service with such a disregard to customer service to anyone for anything. Its really unfortunate.
