Friendly professional and knowledgeable. They replaced my motor and deck bearings on 1 mower and made modifications to my zero turn to keep the deck from falling off. Now I am back to top speed
Whenever possible, I look to support locally owned businesses over big box stores so when I needed a lawn tractor I chose to buy from Amherst Lawn & Garden Equipment. I appreciate small shops for the investment in local economy, and also establishing long-term business relationships with local owners. I purchased a lawn tractor from GL in April 2021. A couple of months later, possibly due to a bad clip/washer, one of my front wheels came off midway through cutting my grass. I called the shop and left a message, and received a call back from GL within an hour letting me know he'd come to my home to put the tire back on. He arrived, as promised, within two hours. GL put the tire back on and replaced the clips, and was extremely helpful in giving me some information on greasing and maintenance of the wheels. I've been pleased with both my sales and service experience with GL & Chrystal and their staff. I look forward to continued business with them in years to come.
Wish I could give zero stars. It's been over five weeks and these guys haven't even looked at my machine for repair yet. They keep telling me "There are still a few in front of you." And they have been keeping my machine outdoors for five weeks when I could have had it protected from the elements in my shed and brought it to them when they finally get around to looking at it. This place is awful.
Very good customer service. Their shop is very nice and the new changes look great. They keep my tires repaired, I love getting flat tires. I pay a little more than I would like for my tire services but in no way am I saying I got ripped off. Just saying I am cheap and wish prices were lower.
I'm new to the area and found my brand new Generac generator needed warranty work. They worked with me and the manufacturer to get repairs made under warranty and in a timely manner. Good service, good folks !

Tried to do the right thing and keep my money in the county and support local business. However, the hours listed on their own website are incorrect. I drove from Madison Heights to Amherst to find out theyre not actually open on Saturday morning. Turned around and drove to Miller Built in Lynchburg whose website is accurate and they actually are open on Saturday morning. Dont waste your time and money driving to Amherst for this place.

I found everything I didnt even know I needed. I love my trimmer...and I love the fact this is an all in one stop... sales, service, advice, and product. Always a winning combination.
Beware! Stay away from getting service. Dropped lawn mower to get estimate on two caster tires, two cracked welds and bent baffle plate on mower deck. Two weeks later, no estimation but a call that mower was ready with a $623 repair bill. They perform all types of unauthorized repairs without consent. Besides what I dropped the mower off to get looked at I could have done the repairs myself,.They even replaced a brand new starter solenoid, that I just put on mower 4 weeks prior, second red flag that they are trying to rack up the repair bill on their customers. To top it all off, when I stopped by to get explanation of the situation, the owners husband gets very aggressive and threatening. I Tried to work with him on a solution to their unauthorized repairs but he was unwilling to even consider anything but that he was going to remove his parts and he guarantees that my mower would not work when he was done with it, really, this is they way you run your wifes bussiness. The mower was running and mowing when I dropped it off, by the way. This is an unprofessional business with shady backwoods practices. I suggest finding somewhere else to go!!!!

Terrible, horrible service. Had my weed eater for a month and told me it was so badly maintained it wasn t worth anything. And...the guy was disrespectful and rude!

Friendly and knowledgeable staff, they stayed after hours to sell the mower. But do your research before purchasing, I just bought a MZ52LE mower for 4995 and Ive been looking online and have found multiple sites listing the mower at 4599. Oh well, live and learn.
