Lawn Thumbs in American Fork

Randy was a Monday fixture at our home, mowing the lawns first with a large standing mower, then a smaller one. He edged the sidewalk and driveway, patios, rock walls, trees and planters and finished using the leaf blower. He gave close attention to his work, which meant that the lawns were nicely groomed when he left. He was serious going, yet personable in manner.

Lawn Thumbs is the best! We have had nothing but great service with them-they really transformed our front and back yard! I would highly recommend them to anyone looking for great service at a reasonable price.

I called on two separate occasions asking about mowing/weed control services. BOTH times their personnel, Amanda, assured me that their weed control service comes with a free one time mow. The second time around, she got my credit card information and scheduled the service. Yet a few minutes later she called and left a voicemail saying that she was wrong and that mowing is an additional $75 charge per hour... Im pretty sure this isnt legal and after giving her a chance to correct their mistake, she insisted that theres nothing that can be done. DO NOT WORK WITH THESE GUYS, they are not honest and false advertise and may even back down on their contracts/agreements (in my case AFTER they get the payment info). Now I have to call my bank and report this incident as I have no trust for this shady company. You can get better work from honest people for much cheaper elsewhere!!

Worked out great! Jose came and helped fix all my front and side yard sprinklers, adjusted and capped those I needed help with. I appreciate the hard work and dedication he had and I am very pleased with the results. I can tell hes experienced in this and I recommend them to whoever needs help in this type of work for sure!

We had some swampy areas in our grass called and a tech came out and said we had a couple of broken sprinkler lines. They fixed one but the one in our back yard was full of water and they kept saying we need the water to drain in the area. They came back three times and did nothing and finally said I don t know what s going on it might be a main line. It took them a week to say we don t know what s going on and I ended up having to call a plumber.

Awful. Just awful. I have them currently mowing lawns for 3 properties. * Anytime they send out a communication (which is very rarely) the service address is never included so I never know which property the communication is about. * On multiple occasions they have done property damage and never said anything about it, didnt offer to repair the damage, and didnt compensate me for the time and expense of repairing the damage. * On one property one week they just decided to only mow half the front yard and half the back yard and then left. * As soon as they started mowing all three of my properties started developing large very noticeable dead grass spots typically 3-9 inches wide and 5-15 feet long. * Edges of the lawn are trimmed with the trimmer nearly horizontal leaving the grass only about an inch tall. Grass around all the borders is either dying or dead. * In general I think they cut the grass too short which really stresses out the grass. * This week I was having landscape done on one of my properties and the landscapers had some things in the front yard. The landscapers offered to move their equipment so the mowers could do their work. The lawnthumbs guy just said never mind and left. I only heard about it from the landscaper. They never showed this week. The yards have never looked worse. I only hired them because Im extremely short on time and couldnt do it myself. It was a mistake.

Recently hired these guys and after only one serv I had a minor mistake turn into a huge flooding issue, resulting in water entering my home. It was a clear mistake, as I was unaware that I had drip lines located where it was broken. Despite this, Ice responded within minutes, reported everything to the insurance immediately, and fixed the issue. The treatment I received was as if I had been a long-time customer, even though they had just started. They were professional and prompt. Mistakes happen, but how they are handled matters most. I will definitely recommend these guys.

Lawn Thumbs did a great job helping us with an upgraded system and getting our entire sprinkler system back functioning properly. He did some troubling shooting of the system and took the time to dig through the yard to locate the water valve because we had no idea where it was. We appreciate his effort and we are grateful. I was so pleased with the work Diego did. My water box at the front of the yard was a mess with pipes that would gush water on me every time I turned on the water for the irrigation. Two very big thumbs up for Lawn Thumbs! I had them over today for the 4 man-hour block of time for general yard clean up. Three guys showed up and in 1hr 20 min of clock time accomplished what wouldve taken me the better part of a day to do, not to mention the clean up and disposal. They cleaned up flower beds, window wells overflowing with tumbleweeds, trimmed bushes, pulled dead bushes, and even picked up all the pine cones on the lawn and in the street in front of my house. They worked like lightning and left everything clean and crisp. My yard looks better than it has in years. I highly recommend these guys.

I absolutely recommend Lawn Thumbs for sprinkler repair! They did an incredible job of fixing a leaking pipe and valve! The work done was expert level. They communicated very clearly the options, pricing, and recommendations. They even replaced fill dirt they didn t excavate, which was beyond my expectations. The speed of service was great, and they cared about my concerns and handled things very professionally. I will definitely use their service in the future!

I will say the positives first. They got us an appointment in 2 days, which was nice. We appreciated that very much. I was messaged an appointment reminder and a message of the tech that was in route, and that helps a lot to prepare. So all that was great. This next part is on behalf of my mom and brother, because they were the ones home to talk to the sprinkler tech. He spoke to them, did the work and just left. He didnt have them sign a quote, an agreement to do the work, or sign for payment. And my mom went out to ask a few more questions and the guy had just left without letting her know the work was completed. He didnt leave a receipt, my mom wasnt even sure what the total was. I had to call in to have them send me the receipt. I dont know about the quality of the work. We will have to see when the sprinklers are going if thats good, but as far as the customer interaction I have never heard of a service company doing this. Not the worst, but we were surprised. My mom called me, and told me she thought the tech left, thinking he had to go get a part or something, but then he never came back, so she just figured he must be done then. We have had sprinkler heads replaced by this company before and this hasnt happened before, it has been years ago though. Maybe they just do things differently now.

I found the company on line. In their writeup it they covered everything I needed, so I filled out a form and sent it in. Shortly i received a text, and then I got a phone call. The lady I talked to said they were very busy and would get back to me. She did. Had an appointmentwhen I needed and wanted it. They texed info abot the professional who would nlbe coming. On the appointment day he sent a text to me saying thR he was on his way. Diego is a knowledgeable and pleasant person to work with. He tested the eight stations, marked problems, replaced sprinklers and adjusted others. He fixed a garden l peiblem I had with a broken pipe and fawceet. Great company, terrific worker, accomplished job in agreat time. If you want a good job by highly qualified technician contact the company.

Perfect example of how a small business gets too big for their britches. Call me on my cell phone about a $50 balance that s less than two weeks. I was working and couldn t take the call said I would call right back. I forgot to but mind you I have been customer for at least five years (sprinklers thousands of dollars, landscaping,weekly bi-weekly lawn care yada yada then I get an email a week later, one week later they also cut it one more time and then email that me they re gonna turn me into collections for $100 and we are at 45 days? I had this company do my business, rental property and home property last season. When issues started to come up instead of fixing them and making it right they were full of excuses. We paid over $2,500 for weeding barrier service and weeds started coming back within weeks. Instead of making it right they and fixing it they did the exact opposite. They don t know what customer service is. Regarding lawn care service, don t expect them to do 100 % of the job. They do about 80 % and then get mad if you complain about the work they did.

I broke our dripline and could not fix it, these guys were timely in coming by and responsive when I called which is much better than everyone else I had called, after 2 repairs I got a bill for $126 which I had spent hours trying to solve and got no where so for me it was a great value

Edited review - original is being left up for reference after the page break last night at approximately 1030pm I received an email from the owner asking if they still wanted me to have them come do the aeration on Saturday morning the tech arrived at approximately 8:00am (give or take I was asleep) the job was done in about an hour or so I have changed the review Service was excellent once it happened, and the lengths that the owner went to make up for friday was top notch, However Friday still left a bad taste in my mouth _______________________________________________________________ Full disclosure I am a new customer so apparently that makes me different from established customers based on what the lady I talked to today said I contracted the company on Monday the 11th for them to show up and do core aeration on Friday the 15th, Was told that they would arrive between 9am and 1pm also asked to provide my CC information at the time of scheduling - I found this odd at the time but I suppose it makes sense called the company at approximately 1pm to see why they hadnt showed up yet, and was told that the tech was less than 1/2 way through his jobs and his current location was Lehi with another stop in American Fork before he got to my house, Also told that they work until it gets dark and they cannot see (sunset listed on google as 7:36pm) Was also told that because of the way things worked there was no way to say when they would arrive, but that they ALWAYS got through their list of jobs Company is listed as closed after 5pm and I received no phone call at that time letting me know what was happening or where the tech was and being as it is friday and the company does not reopen until Monday I am not sure if I will hear anything over the weekend at 6:30 pm I tried just in case to contact the company even though google listed them as closed - and sure enough ... no answer once the sun went down I was expecting some sort of contact from either the tech or the company explaining why they never got to me and what their plan was to fix it -- particularly after I was told by the lady that they ALWAYS get to their jobs which was obviously a lie -- I never got any sort of communication at all, Complete radio silence Im not happy that I wasted my entire day waiting for these guys to show up to be blown off with 0 communication whatsoever

I cant gush enough about what an amazing job Maria did cleaning my house yesterday! Not only did she dust AND do the dishes (off my Cleaning Wish List because I couldnt find a cleaning business that would even consider doing them) but she also moved things to clean the whole counter/area and then organized everything as she put it back. On top of ALL of that...ALONE Maria was able to clean the whole upstairs & our downstairs bathroom in just 4 HOURS. The cleaning service I had tried previously had two people come out...and they took almost twice as long...to clean less. I wholeheartedly recommend Marias awesome cleaning services (through Lawn Thumbs). I will definitely have her do all of my cleaning in the future. I use Lawn Thumbs for my mowing, sprinklers, & Doggie Poop Patrol (for $15.00, with a lab mix, you just CANT beat that)! Thanks for the great service everyone! And...gracias.

We have hired Lawn Thumb on several occasions. They have clear cut undeveloped property for us, pulled weeds and cleared out a difficult gully for us.. I couldn t be happier with the results. They were mega fast and did a great job every time.. We will be hiring him again in the future.

I was looking for a company to do weekly mowing, etc. since I no longer have the energy to care for my very large yards. Lawn Thumbs was the fourth company I called. One company took three tries just to get a bid, then two more calls to get an appointment, which they failed to show up for. I was leaving town for two weeks and had to get something in place for my lawn care. In desperation I called Lawn Thumbs and explained my situation to Rachel. She assured me they would take care of my needs. Juner showed up promptly the next day! The lawns looked amazing. Unfortunately he broke three of my sprinkler heads (they were too high because of the DIY job previous owners had done). But again Rachel reassured me they would take care of it at their expense. I explained I was leaving town and Jacob (sprinkler division manager) came out himself since no techs were available. He went above and beyond, even fixing a couple other sprinklers that needed attention. I have two valves that need replacing; they water my perennials around the perimeter of the house. Since the techs cant get here for 2 weeks to replace them, Jacob offered to come by and water for me! Awesome company! Amazing customer service! Thank you Lawn Thumbs!!

Note: After seeing my review, Lawn Thumbs contacted me and apologized for their reaction to my call and paid me back half of what I originally paid. I appreciated their follow-up and gesture. I paid over $500 for someone to come and just haphazardly plop down some seed plus mulch that you can get at a hardware store for $30. As far as I could tell, there was absolutely no soil prep. None of the seed took. A complete waste of a lot of money. When I contacted them about it, they tried to just blame it on the weather and they tried to make me feel guilty for complaining about the issue. I suppose if I want it done right, Ill have to do it myself.

Seamless experience!! Great company! I had them repair a broken part of my sprinkling system as well as move a sprinkler head that was on the wrong side of the fence. They also taught me how to work my sprinkler timer so I can better understand how to control my system! Very easy to work with!

Both Rob and Thomas were very accommodating and attentive to details. We especially appreciated Thomas s experience that helped him solve some remaining directional problems and make some other needed adjustments and repairs.

These folks are great and always do quality work. As an example, our technician Sterling did some fantastic work for us and later returned after hours for fine tuning the coverage on the sprinklers he had worked on. Truly went the extra mile and I couldnt be happier.

Very good at mowing your lawn and keeping your yard looking good

Hired service: Sprinkler Adjustment $300 PROS: -They are responsive and on time: They always call you back and text you with the name and picture of the technician that s on the way. -Very polite and friendly technicians -They seem to do a great job with my two neighbors edging and mowing. CONS: -Not great for sprinkler adjustments: I had a few brown spots on my parking strips that I wanted fixed and after two trips out to adjust my sprinklers, the brown spots are worse. One of the technicians told me to check for a pest so we did and nothing. I called a third time to ask that the original sprinkler heads be put back on and was told for an additional $79 they could come out again since it s been almost two months since the original adjustment. I am aware of the time lapse, but both times the sprinklers were adjusted, I was told to give it some time before calling again to make sure we could assess the changes made. Not sure how I could have handled that better. -Work is not guaranteed: I told the company that I was under the impression that they guarantee their work and was told they only guarantee their work when they fix broken pipes or something like it and that my $300 sprinkler adjustment did not fall under that so it s not guaranteed. -Nice techs, RUDE manager: He was so defensive right off the bat. I told him that I had chosen to call Lawn Thumbs because I figured I would pay more, but have a good job done so I expected them to own up to the $300 I had paid. He proceeded to tell me that his techs aren t cheap and they had already been out here twice so they weren t coming out again unless I paid more. It s not like I was making brown spots just so that I could call them to hang out on my lawn! I know techs aren t free. I paid $300 for them and would have never called them back again had my problem been fixed. Anyway, pictures speak louder than words so you decide whether you want to call them for a sprinkler adjustment. Note the dates under the pics as recorded by my phone. A month later, the brown spots are WORSE!

These guys rock. They were first hired by my roommates mother to just fix our sprinkler system. Which turned into a big thick green mess of weeds and lawn. I then in turn called them to come start a lawn mowing routine with us. And theyve transformed this lawn! Thanks to your team!

All our mowers and trimmers decided to die on us at the same time - they got us on the schedule fast and they work very quickly, great service!

I was having difficulty finding our water shut off valve, because the grass had grown over it. They came out and found it and were able to get everything set for the winter!

Lawn Thumbs did a great job with my lawn this past year. They showed up every week and constantly did a great job. I also used them for my irrigation. They were very helpful and offered suggestions for my concerns. I will be using them again next spring.

The lawn is impeccably mowed. It is very well done, and I am quite pleased with the results. The technicians cut it the perfect length and they know exactly what to do to take care of the lawn. The edging and the trimming is also much needed and has made the property look so much better. I look forward to starting it up again in the Spring.

We worked with lawn thumbs through the 2022 season. These guys are great. They re fast and professional. I had them do 8 hours of weeding and the difference was insane. We also had them scheduled to do biweekly mowing. The yard always looked great! I just moved to an area they don t service or I would continue working with them! See below for the weeding! The whole strip looked this bad before they came in.

Aaron at Lawn Thumbs mows my lawn every other week. He does a thorough job. Its so nice to come home from work to see the lawn has just been freshly mowed.

Couldnt be more pleased with the quality of work and professionalism. When I needed them to come on an unscheduled day with virtually no notice, they managed to squeeze us in the next morning. This is the only lawn service I plan on using.

Owner is unprofessional and lacks customer service. I have been a returning customer for almost 3 years and was satisfied with their work until today when I spoke with the owner about a return service. He was dismissive, abrasive and rude. I d suggest you consider other companies if you are looking for ongoing services as I am now.

Lawn thumbs forgot to mow our lawn for two weeks in a row, but didn t forget to charge our credit card. When we called to tell them, they were rude and acted like we did something wrong. Horrible customer service. :/

Had my lawn care services transferred from a different company that was discontinuing lawn care service. They arranged to continue my same weekly mowing services for the same price. All was well for the first couple weeks until they just stopped coming, but I continued to be charged. I figured they were just behind and would be by later in the week to get the work done. Nope. Didn t show. This continued for two weeks. I reached out to them and was refunded for the two weeks of services not provided, and they did make an effort to come out in two days to get the work done. I was happy they got my yard done, but realized they charged me almost double for one visit. Same amount of work as usual. When I reached out to figure out what was going on, someone named Freddy got upset at me because of the previous refunds I was given and told me he would refund the most recent charge (which I didn t ask for) but they were done with me and I would have to find someone else to take care of my yard. It s obvious the company has taken on more business than they can handle, and my experience with them has been horrible. I was blamed for their continued mistakes and was treated like I was trying to take advantage of them. If they had simply done what they agreed they would do in the first place there would be no issue. Fortunately there s a vast number of companies that can actually show up and do what they have agrees to on a weekly basis. Will be moving on and recommend anyone looking to hire lawn thumbs look elsewhere first.

After moving to Utah, the kids were off on their own, retiring early from my success and having owned a actual mini Disneyland in my CA. backyard with everything trimmed etc., I finally got a gardener. I heard about Lawn Thumbs. Now I have a company who will come out regardless of the weather and take care of making sure my lawn is mowed and all cement edging,fencing and walk edges are cut straight and blown clean. They actually met how picky I am. Now I can concentrate on other stuff and not dread that hot lawn day which can t be delayed. If I run into trouble with anything else in my yard, now I can just call them up to take over for what I need also.They have the crew and equipment for what you need. I recommend Lawn Thumbs !

I scheduled an appt with them a few weeks out since they were pretty booked.. the day of the appt, I rearranged my work schedule so I could be home but they never showed up.. I ended up texting them, see what was going on and the girl said they got their schedule pushed back a day so they would be here the following morning. Once again, I moved my work meeting around to be able to be home.. I waited all morning with no one coming. I left for work around noon, and I sent them a message again, and the girl said they were on their way. When I said I wouldnt be home, she told me they would either have to do it with me gone or Id have to reschedule for 4 weeks out. There is zero communication, and professionalism with the girl I worked with. The company could be all great like their website says, but it isnt worth working with someone so unprofessional and lacking in respect for coming to someone home to do a job without working with the customers schedule. Especially when it comes to home projects you want done correctly.

The crew came and cleaned up weeds on the hill in the heat. They do an excellent job. The mowing services are also the best! Hard working crew! I will be sure to use again next year. I highly recommend Lawn Thumbs!

They do a great job as long as the grass isnt too long. I think that they would be a great weekly service. They also offer a service for every two weeks, which I took. However, if you do that, and your lawn gets long, you can expect clumps of grass left behind, which I didnt like. They are also now charging extra if you have a dog. My other concern was communication. You dont really know what time they are going to come, and they dont call/text and let you know they are on the way, so it was hard to know when to bring my dog inside the house, etc. They are quick and they do a great job, within the parameters mentioned above. If I didnt have a dog, and if I was going to do a weekly service, they are a good choice.

We had lawn thumbs do the spring wake up package a few weeks ago and it really made a difference. I was surprised at how much old dead material came off the yard with the power raking. After about a week our grass got much greener and really started growing in like we had hoped for.

Ive had Lawn Thumbs do my lawn for about half a season now and I have been very impressed with their work. They show up on the same day every week and have not missed one. My last service was a little flaky so we never knew if they would show up or on what day, so having a set schedule is very important to me. The guys do a great job mowing and edging and I look forward to lawn mowing day every week. Super impressed with them!

Shortly after I emailed them, they sent someone out to check our lawn to see what was causing our problem. They came to the house the day after I called them and provided the service I requested. Were anxious to see the changes in our lawn!

So far they ve been great! Customer service is quick to respond and today when I had some chicken stuff on my lawn (I didn t get home in time to deal with it) they did a great job moving and mowing around my temporary chicken setup.

They are extremely responsive and are always interested in my feedback. Because of this I can tailor the service to get it just the way I like. Was transferred over to Lawn Thumbs automatically when my previous yard care company decided to focus on fertilizing and pest control exclusively. The very first contact email I received from the company was one showing me how to pay for my services and then the second communication I received was an email indicating that they were going to increase rates 50% for the same number of mows or if Id prefer, they could keep the same monthly total but come half the amount of times. You do the math on that and it comes out to double the cost of what I was paying per mow. When I asked the billing team at Lawn Thumbs about the situation I was told that he couldnt cover the cost of his teams wages to send them out to my place. If you take the hourly rate he was going to charge me, that would mean he must be paying his team about $80 an hour for a crew of two plus travel costs. My yard is very small which is why I pay someone to take care of it since it doesnt make any sense to own yard care tools for such a small lawn and I understand not wanting smaller contracts and not wanting to send a team out for that. It is a business decision that has to be made sometimes. Also, my previous company was based in American Fork, this one is in Provo, so there is a longer travel time. Thats fine, tell me that you need to up the cost a few dollars for travel. Just dont lie to me about it by making false claims about not being able to pay his teams wages. He instantly lost a customer and I wont consider them again, even at a discounted rate.

I called for the Heavy Weed Treatment package to get rid of those spiky bull heads that were all over my rental property. I went to look at them today and they are all shriveled up! And they did the second round today, so I know they will be gone. I cant believe they took care of it that easy!!

Lawn Thumbs were quick and efficient!! All the shrubs were trimmed beautifully. They were in and out in just 4 hours and this would have taken us a couple of weekends. Worth every penny!!

They were so quick to respond after my request and came out the same day to give me a quote. It was the Monday before the 4th of July and after being so overwhelmed at trying to do it all on my own I decided to give them a call. I wasnt expecting them to be able to do the lawn before the holiday, but was beyond surprised and elated when they said they could come out the next day and start on it! I had over 40 family members coming for the Holiday and I had an appraiser coming out after that. I REALLY needed help getting things ready! They exceeded any of my expectations! Great company all around! Freddy is such a pleasant person to work with and addresses all my concerns promptly. The rest of the staff is also great to work with. Our yard looks so clean and tidy every time, we are always satisfied with their work. I found Lawn Thumbs through my neighbor who had been using them and gave them a call for two of our homes and they were able to give us a quote that was very reasonable for the services we wanted done. My favorite is that they even pull weeds and we had lots at one of our homes we were getting ready to list. They made it look so beautiful and clean and kept it up while our home was listed. We ve had them do weed pulling, fertilizer treatment, aeration and winter ready lawn prep which you can also opt for them to turn off your sprinklers and do a blowout to prevent burst pipes during the cold months. They do everything, just ask. We couldn t be more pleased!

These guys are the most professional and down to earth people I have ever worked with. Being a new home owner I am so happy with the results they delivered. I gave them a huge list of to dos and they not only completed they exceeded it. I told them to get rid of ALL the leaves which was 24 tarps worth, it took them 3 trips to offload the amount of leaves and brush I had. Not only that but the previous home owners had a ton of logs in the corner of the yard that were so heavy I couldnt do it myself. These guys took care of all of it. I now have a clean slate in my yard, a place I can build upon. I have a breath of fresh air from these guys and my yard work. They also were going to do the front yard too, even though I told them on the phone and email three times to only do the back. But these are just minor issues. Disgusting disregard for properly securing leaves and yard debris in back of the truck. Today I drove behind a Lawn Thumbs truck on Palisade Dr in Orem while leaves dumped all over the neighborhood like crazy. How irresponsible and inconsiderate!

We had Lawn Thumbs come and aerate our lawn today. They far exceeded all my expectations. My wife gave them a call expecting a turnaround within a few days and they let us know that they could be here the same day to do the aeration. They arrived and did a great job and did so very quickly. They were very courteous and professional in their communications. I forgot to ask for a receipt of payment so I went to their website and sent them a quick email asking if they could email me something. Within 5 minutes I had an initial email back and within ~1 hour I had a receipt in my email inbox. They have been very impressive and seem like a very honest and hard-working group to work with. I would recommend for whatever you need.
