He is a one of kind and deserves to be recognized for his outstanding knowledge, customer service and amazing way of speaking to the client base that he serves for Borst. He always listens to concerns and wants to help as much as he can when it comes to our job. Norman is very knowledgeable with shrubs, plants flowers and all the things needed to make a beautiful look and outcome for the property. He is a valuable player at Borst! I would like to add our property is older shrubs and Rhodies that I have been working with for a few years now in part with the overall renovation of the house. I can happily say the gardens are now with Norman (and myself) looking amazing and restored to the original beauty it had before! He really understands those older plantings and he is my go to for these old beauties! Outstanding!

Kenny Stagg and the team at Borst are tremendous to work with -- after our home renovation Kenny designed plantings for our front and backyards and over 5-years later everything still looks great. We use their garden maintenance program and they keep everything looking just as good as it did when it was first planted. Recently worked with Karl and his team to update and refresh our landscaping after the prior homeowner ignored it for years. We trusted Karl s advice and the team delivered and addressed all of our wants and needs for a landscape design. WOW!! I just want to thank Kenny and his team. First, the tree guys that they used were OUTSTANDING! They were very careful about everything they did. They removed six, very large, diseased or dead trees behind my house. They placed thick rubber plates over my grass and decorative mulch that were just slightly larger than the transporter they used to carry the large amount of tree cuttings to the grinder in the street in front of my house. Im talking about tons of branches, leaves and very large and heavy logs. They never missed that platform. The mulch and lawn they had to drive over were unaffected. Only compressed. They were great. Then, Kennys team came in and fluffed up the mulch and grass and they also blew the entire area. I am not kidding when I say that EVERYTHING looks better now than before Kenny[s team got here! A really GREAT job. Please tell the owner of the tree business that he should be very proud of his people, as I am sure Kenny is of his. Thanks for caring about the job and caring about me! It shows!

Absolutely fantastic. We have used quite a few different landscapers during the ~20 years we have lived in Bergen County, and this year we chose to go with Borst. Kenny is our account manager, and has been an invaluable asset to us in making decisions on what to do, and what not to do. The team is not pushy, appreciates the cost that homeowners invest for these services, and their crews have been reliable and meticulous for the services we have used. Kenny is truly a partner with his clients, and his friendly demeanor makes it easy to work with him. So far, I am very impressed with him and their team. They are not the cheapest, but we have received true quality for the price paid and I am extremely satisfied. If youve tried all the others and havent been happy, give these guys a shot. The Team at Borst landscaping ,specifically Tracey went above and beyond to make certain my property was properly treated for Ticks and Fleas using there all natural Cedar oil and peppermint oil products in order to protect my German Shepard s . From design to installation Kenny Stagg with his team did a tremendous job. He helped us envision our project which we did in phases over several years. Additionally, we have three very large planters that they design for us each season. The team along with Maria, she is such a talent, do a great job ~ they look awesome!! We have worked with Borst over the last few years renovating different areas of our yard. We have had plantings, pavers, driveway, and drainage done and everything looks amazing! Borst has been working in my garden for 3 years, they are impeccable. They trim all the bunches and trees, fertilize, spray, do the mulch and the lawn maintenance. They are extremely knowledgeable and they were able to personalize their service to my needs. I have a person to call or email every time I have a question or need an adicional service. My backyard was dirty and dingy looking. I asked Ken Stagg, Sr account Manager at Borst to get it ready for Memorial Day and The crew at Borst came on time and power washed my backyard making it look brand new. They took their time to really clean and move furniture so that every inch looks amazing. Highly recommend Ken at Borst as they not only did a terrific job power washing but also take care of all my landscaping needs.

Great experience with Borst. We worked with Kenny Stagg on plantings and lawn improvements for multiple areas of our property. He was great to work with, reachable, quick to respond, understood what we were looking to do and after our first meeting quickly came up with a great design and offered his expertise to make sure we were set up for success. Kenny went out of his way to make sure we understood what we were getting and answering all of our questions to make us comfortable with the proposal prior to signing. The team and Kenny did a great job and were great to work with from start to finish.

This company is a complete disaster and a bunch of fakes trying to pose as professionals. They are dishonest and their salespeople and office staff cannot be trusted. They subcontract to other services that are even worse than they are and then do not stand behind their work. They promised they would fix our landscaping for their shoddy quality in the Fall and now will not even return our calls. We paid them in full after withholding a balance just to get them to call us back last Fall. Now, we cannot get even a call out of them to hold up their promised repairs. STAY AWAY! Dishonest thieves from ownership to call staff.

From start to finish, we had a great experience with Kenny Stag and the Garden Design Team at Borst. He came in, asked what we liked, talked about what we were thinking. A week or so later he had a proposal in front of me. A few days after that my backyard was complete, the gardens look great. He and his team are timely, very professional, and did a great job!

Borst replaced several arbor vitae trees that had been impacted by the drought. The new trees are doing beautifully and perfectly match in size to the others in the row. They mulched the area and it looks fantastic. Karl was so helpful, coming to give me an estimate while I was on my lunch break. He was prompt and emailed it quickly to me. I was able to sign it electronically and move forward with the replacement before other companies had even called me back. Borst also installed a patio for us a few years ago. They made sure our big tree was not impacted by the patio by consulting their tree expect. They are wonderful to do business with and their work is thorough, beautiful and professional.

This was my first experience with Borst Lanscape to remove 9 damaged Privet hedges and replace with new ones. First off, the replacement Privet hedges were amazingly good products. Kenny from the garden maintenance division had brought in great products, great crew to get the job done right the first time. Kennys partner Karl and crew supervisor Hector were at site on time bringing in the new plats, and the hard-working crew; Deyvi, Kelvin, and Gustavo. This was not an easy job, but the crew overachieved and put a masterpiece together. Thank you, Kenny and team, for this great job...well done! I used Borst to clean up my mulched beds, which were badly overgrown with weeds, and shrubbery that needed pruning. Ken was always available to answer all my questions. His crew takes their time, and is very thorough. No weed killer used, and no weed whacking either. They may not be the cheapest, but their work is very high quality. Will be using them again.

I worked with Kenny from the Garden maintenance team. I had no design ideas or ideas on what to plant, just a space I needed redesigning. He was able to quickly come up with an awesome design and transformed our front yard. Go to Kenny and the team with confidence knowing they ll do an awesome job.

My wife (an interior designer) and I reached out to Borst to get some work done for our home. One of their designers came to look at our property and give us a few options. After reviewing the options she mentioned she would reach back out to us with pricing. Also, the designs she gave us were mostly done through my wife who ran all the dimensions through cad to make the process easier for the designer. We paid our deposit and waited a few months and did not hear one thing from the designer. When we followed up with an email asking for some quotes she said nothing was available. After waiting for another month, we moved forward with someone else and reached out to get our deposit back since whats the point of paying for it if they wont even show us how much it costs and have 0 communication and follow up. I spoke with the manager and he mentioned that he understands where im coming from and would get back to me but has never reached back out. The designs she showed us were extremely basic and the lack of response and communication was the worst Ive ever dealt with. Save your time and money and go with someone who is willing to treat you like an actual customer instead of stealing your deposit and never getting back to you.

We ve used Borst twice now for big softscape projects. Both times the work has been fantastic and their crews have been trustworthy and professional. They re not cheap but you know you re getting quality. I definitely recommend using them for landscape projects.

Worst company ever. Non-committal, understaffed, and terrible management. I fired them after they continually gave excuses for not starting in the Spring timely, delaying both the pre-emergent and fertilization programs. Had to hire another company to get me on track. I big mess and a terrible experience; bitter, stressful, untenable. I strongly recommend going elsewhere. If you dont, youll be sorry. I did not list the services performed, because I did not receive adequate nor timely services. Left them early in the season when I realized they could not perform and after continuous delays, no shows and a bunch of false promises. You would be much better off to look for another, and perhaps a reputable firm. This firm has too many bad reviews and I can attest to this from my own bad experiences.

Borst has provided excellent organic lawn services, including fertilization and weed control for my property. I made the switch to organic and am happy with the results. Bob is top notch and always responsive to my needs, whether it is a request to change my service date or addressing a new lawn care issue.

We hired Borst after interviewing multiple high-end landscape design companies. We have two phases of our landscape (re)design and recently completed phase one. Everyone from Karl to the landscapers are extremely professional, caring and knowledgeable. The work they have done so far (tree removal and replanting, prepping area for new swing set) is beautiful. We couldnt be more impressed. Karl and his crew were on-site during each step of the way making sure everything was going smoothly. We are excited to see the rest of the project completed! I called Borst to design/plan and plant a garden in our backyard and to landscape our entry walkway. Ken Stagg and his team redesigned the front landscaping in the front of our house and the process was smooth, timely and the results look beautiful. Working with Borst Landscape and Design has been a terrific experience from start to finish. I had admired their work pictured in magazines at grand properties. I always figured they would not do smaller jobs, but a friend who is a realtor recommended the company to me when I was looking to redo my landscaping. Preston Rowan, one of their designers, came to my house. We discussed my ideas and my concerns. Preston listened closely and offered solutions to problems we needed resolved. He then created two different plans to show me, with accompanying samples of materials for the proposed hardscapes. Once we tweaked and decided on our design, I was pleasantly surprised to receive a handwritten note from the owner of the company thanking me for choosing them and welcoming us to the Borst family. What a personal touch that doesn t happen very often anymore. Due to recent events, materials were very difficult to come by and thus we had to change the materials used a couple of times due to lack of availability. The masons that came to remove our old patio and pathways, and then prep the ground and eventually lay the new stones were careful, organized artisans. The plantings put in have varied shape and accent the new patio beautifully. Preston even incorporated my memory of beloved lilacs from my childhood home within the design. He also recommended accent lighting in just the right places and still worked within our budget. I cannot say enough good things about our experience with Borst and Preston as a landscape designer who was very attentive and patient with questions from me and my husband. We are planning on using Borst again for another project soon.

We can t say enough about the amazing job Kenny and his team did to transform our entire property. He took a property that was void of plantings and transformed it into something beautiful that we can enjoy year round. Kenny communicated with us throughout the whole process, kept on budget and schedule. He and his team are extremely professional and we wouldn t hesitate to use them again for future projects and recommend them to family and friends.

Borst helped transform my over grown pond and waterfall into a beautiful backyard oasis. Kenny and the Garden Care crew did a tremendous job from start to finish. Kenny especially, he took our suggestions and goals for the project, explained every plant he chose and why, and managed to save us substantially by trimming/saving some over grown plants/shrubs and repurposing others on the property. While I unfortunately didnt take a before photo, the difference is truly night and day. My only regret is that their beautiful work is in the backyard and not the front where more people could appreciate it. Will definitely be working with Borst and Kenny again for our future landscape design, and planting needs.

This company is not a landscaper. It is a poor lawn mower at best. We hired them to do spring cleanup which was never completed. We complained, the gm showed up took pictures and agreed it was outrageous and said he would meet with his team. The following week, someone came with a weed wacker and destroyed my Perrenials and damaged our swing set, didnt do any the seeding (I did it). So now I have bald patches all over my lawn, destroyed flower beds and swing set, I spent days fixing this and it will likely take me a month to get it reasonable again. Do not under any circumstances use this company.

We went with Borst because our neighbors used them, we were having high expectations from them esp given their name - but were left very disappointed! It seems like service and quality landscaping is no longer their priority. Examples- 1) They overcharge for what they deliver, cutting crew spent between 5 and 15 min (initially promised 40min) and charged $100+ per visit! 2) They did optional services without permission with poor results and then charged a huge bill for it. 3) They did not show up for a cut and still charged for it. I have camera logs to prove, but no response from them so far! Tired of chasing after them for their negligence. Please avoid them if you can!

After taking down some trees from our front yard this summer, we were left with a landscape that looked pretty sparse and unfinished. I reached out to Ken from Borst who has been doing our seasonal planting for the last few years for help!! Ken came and talked to me about reinventing the front yard. I loved that he took the time to ask us what kinds of plants we liked, what we didnt like and if it would be okay if he repositioned some things. The results are spectacular. Our front yard now looks beautiful and certainly a big improvement from what it was. I cant thank Ken enough as well as his incredible team that came and worked long and hard to get the job done. The whole team is incredibly professional and I would recommend them to anybody looking for landscaping work.

Ken Stagg and the Borst team did a great job on our plantings. We ve been in the house for over 10 years and they have never looked so good. We lost half of our plantings over this dry summer, and Ken helped us to come up with a plan for our specific space. We were able to strategize and find plants that would look good year-round, that didn t require a lot of water or sun. The results are beautiful, and we could not be more pleased. Would recommend this team in a heartbeat.

EDIT: THIS COMPANY IS SUING A FORMER CLIENT FOR NONPAYMENT AFTER ADMITTING TO DOING THOUSANDS OF DOLLARS IN DAMAGE TO OUR HOME. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY OR YOU MAY FACE THE SAME TREATMENT. We tried to give them a pass but they dont seem to want to move on. My wife wrote a review 4 months ago detailing the damages that this company did to our home. At the time Borst, apologized, reached out, and agreed to compensate us for the damage they caused. Trying to be a nice guy and let bygones be that, I let it go. Now the company has sent me two invoices seeking to collect for the services they provided, including things like clean up and maintenance that were clearly never performed or were performed so negligently as to cause thousands of dollars of damage. Oh and finance charges and late fees too. See attached photo! When I reached out to kindly ask them to drop the issue and to continue any additional communication through email, the manager Dominick responded they d prefer to only talk on the phone and now continue to send me invoices for payment. It feels like there would be a simple resolution and it feels like we are being harassed at this point. I wish we had never gone down this road and encourage you to find anyone other than this company.

We have always been very happy with their quality of work and timely manner of their work. Regardless of the number of people who come, the level of care and quality of work is there. The workers are courteous and hard working. Never disappointed. They always leave a detailed notice on your door of the set that was completed that day. Great for when you have pets so you know when not to have them on the lawn. Very very happy

Hired them to redo my front walkway with blue stone, and could not be happier with the result. Their workmanship was simply superb and to top it off the crew was very courteous and professional throughout and left the site absolutely spotless. Their cost was very reasonable too compared to the other estimates I had. I will most likely hire them as my regular landscaper as well.

This company was recommended to us. It s hard to believe but May be in the past it was good company.... However, what a mistake hiring them!!! They charge hourly, charging for the services that were not performed. We tried to resolve those questions by called them three times, send Email-no response. Horrible customer service. I will never recommend this company to anyone.

Despite that >the concrete slab is not at the correct angle, and the patio is 6-12 inches narrower than the design. - There were no financial discounts given- I was charged 2-3 times the market rate >>I paid them 8000 dollars which they demanded prior to completion of work (exactly what was agreed upon in the contract) to repair my patio- (90% of the bluestone was my own): I expected a better job than that. Forget about attention to detail- this is a grossly shoddy and negligent job. - Their general manager Mr. Tom is a car salesman who doesn t understand a thing about landscaping or design, or even what s written in their own contracts. Their designer draws up a good plan on paper- but there is nobody making sure that is what their hired workers are actually doing ->>Good luck to this company and whoever chooses to hire them.

We are not sure which is more beautiful - the great green expanse of weed free lawn or the stunning flowers that grace its borders. The blossoming trees and blooming shrubs complete the picture. The team at Borst is first rate. They take pride in their work, are knowledgeable and attentive. That combination goes a long way. We couldn t be more pleased.

Just like every other Landscaping company Ive called, they werent interested in helping us out. Yes our job is small, but we were being fined by our town for property code violations. No one could come by for an hour or so to weedwack the front yard. After 2 weeks of calling everyone around and getting 2 warnings and a fine, a relative came by, rented equipment and did the work. Theyre not easily accessible to come by anytime. We cant be the only household with issues like that where people need small lawn jobs done & cant do it ourselves.

Kenny Stagg and the Borst crew have been taking care of my yard for 2 years now. The organic lawn care and maintenance has completely transformed my yard into a golf course. Kenny recently redid all my planting beds as well as creating a magnificent surround to my new patio in my backyard. It looks absolutely gorgeous and makes the time we spend out side special.

The staff did phenomenal work. Went above and beyond expectations. Kenny came up with a great design. Would highly recommend them.

We recently moved to the area and started using Borst for mosquito/tick treatment, organic fertilizer, and shrub/bush/tree treatment on our new property. We are extremely impressed with their services. Our yard looks amazing, and the mosquito/tick spray is just as effective as the pesticide spray we used to do at our previous home, but now - with two small children and a vegetable garden - I dont have to worry about harmful chemicals in our yard. But, most importantly, the customer service we have received in working with them has been AMAZING. I had emailed Bob Malgeri, the manager handling our account, on a summer day in the late afternoon to ask about adding an additional service to our account. In less than an hour after my email, there was a tech in our yard completing the work I had requested... late in the day, during their busy season! That is the BEST turnaround time I have ever seen on any service ever. Everyone Ive met or spoken to at Borst has been extremely professional. We are very happy to be working with them, and would highly recommend them.

I met with Karl and he reviewed my project. All the beds needed to be (extensively) weeded, mulched, and edged. We decided to also add stone to define a border. Karl took time with me and answered all my questions. My job was scheduled in a timely manner. Hector, Deyvi, Domi arrived on time as scheduled both days. They were respectful and professional. They worked throughout the day and transformed the front of my house. The change was remarkable!! The crew was meticulous. They paid attention to every detail. They were hardworking and clearly took pride in their work. I was absolutely thrilled with the results. Karl came by throughout the job and kept me informed. I was in good hands! I had two other landscapers prior to Borst, and there is no comparison. I was looking for a company with whom I could build a long term relationship as I have many more projects to complete. I finally found the right company. I highly recommend Borst Landscape & Design. They exceeded my expectations and I look forward to our next project! First rate!

I got the Kenny and Karl combo and these guys were fantastic! Truth be told, this was a job I was originally planning to do myself along with my father. Were both pretty handy and have easy access to a tractor. After several other large projects, the front landscaping got deprioritized and my wife was really itching to get this done. After 10 minutes with Kenny, I was blown away by his knowledge and more importantly passion for the work. I realized that I could do it myself, but it would pale in comparison to the professional design and quality that Kenny was speaking about. After the work was finished I couldnt believe how great it came out! Now one year later I see what Kenny was talking about when he said it was going to be a firework show throughout the season. Every month from early spring on something new is in bloom and always great color out front. The amount of work this would have taken my father and me months and we would not have had the knowledge for the diverse plant choice. They brought in truckloads of soil, fertilizer and mulch; used some existing plants that were nice specimens and knew when to bring in the new stuff along with it. Couldnt be happier with the result and service that Kenny and team provided

Ken and his crew at Borst were fantastic to work with on our landscaping design and implementation. The implementation was a quick turnaround after approval and the results were phenomenal. Our project came to life and it was more than I could have dreamed it would be. Ken from Borst Landscaping & Design was great. He delivered on commitments and stayed within our budget which was very important to me. The end result was just what we wanted. Kenny and his team were great to work with on a garden update. They replaced the entire bed in one day. From contacting them to finish took about one week. This is my first using Borst Landscaping on my property and it has never looked this good. Positive

We used Borst for several years after bouncing from one company to another. We have a large yard with extensive landscaping Kenny and his staff were able to bring back our yard to Its full potential after years of other landscapers not getting It right. Borst has done everything for us from landscape design to redo an entire slope bed to removing and editing our existing plantings to meticulous maintenance of all of the various plantings and beds. Borst took care of all our seasonal plantings and would do a beautiful job with the variety and quality of plantings I looked forward to see what they would do each season. Kenny and his staff are top notch and I would highly recommend them to anyone who wants to get your landscaping done right.

Of all the landscaping companies we interviewed, Borst was the most responsive, professional and courteous company of them all. They came several times to discuss the plans and checked after the work was done. We even received a thank you note from the owner after we contracted them! The new plants look beautiful! I would highly recommend Borst for your landscaping needs.

In the middle of the COVID-19 Crisis on April 10, 2020, Borst sent me a bill for Finance charges for $4.64. I replied to the e-mailed invoice saying they should be ashamed of themselves sending this type of invoice during a time of crisis. Instead of replying to my e-mail, the owner called me saying he was pissed off at me for owing him money! I cancelled my service on the spot. If you, a family member or a friend have been adversely effected by the COVID-19 crisis, I suggest never doing business with this company.

An excellent construction company!

Borst used to be a very reliable landscaper for me. They had people and equipment.That changed about 3 years ago.The maintenance crew who came to my property for weekly service reduced from 3 to 2, quality of service has been deteriorating ever since, and the billing statements have been escalating. For the quality of service, it is obvious that 2 men working will be worse than 3 men providing the same service. I am thinking to cut all the extra services like fertilizing, seeding, aerating, evergreen protection for winter, etc., and keep only the weekly maintenance and see how they will perform next year. If the service remains poor, 2021 will be the time to terminate the service with Borst. I hope the owner of Borst reads this post.

Terrible service. David Beasley came out to my property. We talked. He took notes and asked for my home survey. I emailed him our survey THE SAME DAY to redesign landscaping as requested. No response. I followed up a week later just to see if email was received. No response. A few days later I spoke to Terry on the phone who apparently works closely with him. Said shed call right back. Never did. Very unprofessional. Dont waste your time cause they dont value yours.
