We used Mt. Diablo for a releveling project of 20 year old pavers around our home. The team did an amazing job! Very responsive and completed the job within two days. The price was very reasonable for the size of the project. We would highly recommend their services!
Dan and his workers are incredible. Fast and efficient, with such nice employees. I can't believe how fast they finished installing a yard drainage system that will keep our home's foundation safe from the elements. Seriously, it took then less than 6 hours to dig trenches and install pipes and dig and drill underneath the concrete sidewalk. Dan and his dad are also very personable and it was such a pleasure to do business with them. I just met them a few days ago and I felt I was dealing with good friends!
Dan and his crew did a fabulous job with our paver driveway and flagstone stoop. We had somewhat of an idea of what we wanted the stoop and driveway to look like but Dan helped perfect our vision with his design ideas. The team was great to work with and Dan has become a friend to our family!

They worked hard and fast, completing the main path in one day and then finishing touches in another. Unbelievable! Dan Jr and the crew turned our uneven, stumpy, dirt partial grass backyard into a beautiful flagstone paver patio with brick sidewalk to shed with sod and grass seed installation. They created a backyard we are delighted to go out and use~
Dan and his crew did an outstanding job renovating my backyard! Dan worked with me to come up with a plan that addressed all my grading and drainage issues while dramatically improving the visual appeal of my yard and gardens. In less than a week, his crew of landscape professionals regraded my yard, installed a new patio, removed and relocated numerous trees and other plants, installed a french drain with river rocks that blends perfectly into my backyard landscape and even staked up my laurel trees at no charge. I would highly recommend Mt Diablo to handle any landscaping project!
Mt. Diablo Landscaping and Maintenance just finished a brick patio in my family's backyard. We love it! It is nice and neat and fits perfectly with the style of our house. It even incorporates an old piece of architecture we had. We interviewed a few companies before choosing Mt. Diablo and we are glad we did. Dan (junior) is great to work with, and his team of landscapers was great too.
We loved working with Dan and his dad. They helped turn our small Old Town yard from a literal mud pit into an asset that we will enjoy for years and will add value to our home. Dan had great suggestions for dealing with our poor draining soil that resulted in recurrent flooding. The permeable patio he suggested works like a charm. They also worked with us to tailor the project scope to our budget and were super transparent on pricing. No hard sells or pushing things we didn’t want or need. Their crew was incredibly efficient and professional. Overall could not be happier with the experience and results. Will be calling Dan back in future to do additional work.
Scope of work: Outdoor drainage from sump pump into yard needing to be channeled to street drain and downspout to be redirected under patio walkway. Experience & Customer service: From the first point of contact to the walkthrough and recommendations; Daniel Jr (& his father Daniel Snr.) were completely professional and gave us quite a few recommendations. While we had low spots on a few different areas of our yard; Daniel seeked out what our future plans were going to be (yard/patio upgrades) and recommended AGAINST doing some of the other drainage work temporarily thereby looking out for the customers interests (& wallet) over their short term profits. As new home owners; we also had additional queries regarding the outdoors (grading, drainage etc) that they patiently answered. Quality of work: The pace of work was phenomenal as was the quality. From contract acceptance to scheduling the job and finishing it was less than 16 hours! Very often you see a skeleton crew working on these (smaller) jobs but this was not the case with Mt. Diablo Landscaping. They had two crews working in parallel on the jobs and finished it in record time. Additionally, the foreman (Leo) took the time to explain why/what they were doing and tradeoffs with each approach. Care was taken to have minimal disruption to the lawn and the sod was cut in chunks and replaced after the job like nothing was ever done/disturbed. Overall, phenomenal crew! Post job feedback & experience:I had some queries and scope creep after the job was completed and within 3 minutes of my message to Mt. Diablo they called me back to address my concerns/questions and will come back in 48 hrs to address my needs, which wasnt part of the original quote/scope. Two guys came for an estimate. Looked around, made a few suggestions. No estimate, no nothing. No contact whatsoever. Well if you ignore a potential customer, you get one star
Have them for weekly grass cutting, pricing is good, they show up on time, guys are friendly. Would use again and recommend em to neighbors.
Had our grass cut on and off for the past 3 years by Dan and his group along with having a couple water features added to our pool area here in Annandale. 5/5 stars.
We recently hired Mt. Diablo to transform our yard. We added a flagstone walk, and landing areas, re-graded the yard, installed long-overdue drainage systems, which will now take all of the water from our corner lot to the street. The quality of the work these guys do is amazing. If you get the opportunity to work with Manuel - their foreman - the guy is brilliant when it comes to design and implementation. He has the crew constantly working and they hustle! I moved about 15 tons of crushed stone, 6 x 6 timbers, river rock, flagstone and artificial grass. We are super happy with Mt. Diablo and we trust their crew to do all the right things - they do not cut corners. Oh and we have a new irrigation system with 32 heads buried all over the yard and they did not hit one of them. We are going to be using Mt. Diablo for our lawn care, fertilization, and seeding throughout the years ahead. I discovered that they can do it a lot better than I can and they are much more efficient. Estate Quality Hardscaping!
We had an incredible experience with this company! They were very professional and worked SO hard. Our yard is beautiful and they gave us exactly what we were looking for. Our yard work was completed within a week of our first contact with the company. Highly recommend!

Dan and his team were spectacular to work with. I interviewed about 5 different landscaping teams to build a new paver patio in the backyard. Other local contractors I felt were giving me ridiculous prices for hardscaping a small area of a city townhome and werent listening to what I wanted, but rather trying to sell me on more expensive solutions. Not these guys. They were very honest through all phases of the process and were able to work with me to find a solution to meet my desires and fit my budget. Dan was honest and communicated well through phone and email throughout all phases of the process. His crew was very competent, easy to work with, and helped us with fine tuning the details such as moving bushes, and tailoring the edging to our exact needs, regrading the whole area to fix the drainage. The end result was he turned my backyard into a perfect, beautiful, maintenance free oasis. Save yourself the time when shopping around and just hire these guys, you wont regret it.

We recently contacted Mt. Diablo Landscaping to tackle our backyard, the worst backyard... ever. We have a relatively expansive backyard, lots of tall trees, in which grass will not take hold. Weeds were abundant, 10 year old fence started falling into disrepair, large branches fallen from recent storms and never cleared. You get the picture. Dan Jr, Dan Sr, and their team transformed both our front and back yard. They repaired sections of fencing, replaced rotting wooden steps, trimmed back trees, clear ground cover, and power-washed the house. In short, they provided me with a clean slate and actually renewed my hope of trying to maintain my yard. We worked with Mt Diablo years ago and had a wonderful experience - more than reasonable cost and a great outcome. I was a little skeptical they would do as good a job this second time around, but, again, their estimate was fair and Dan Jr s recommendations completely on point with our needs. Twice, they ve not only met but exceeded our expectations. There is nothing better than knowing people who get the job done.

After a not so great experience with this company, the owner reached out to us and seemed very genuine with regards to trying to resolve the situation. They seem to care about past experiences and definitely do care about what their customers think and try to make things right. I would be willing to try this company again in the future and will update the review at that time.
We have regularly worked with Mt. Diablo over the past 5 years for some regular bed/yard cleanup and a number of big projects (1 - an outdoor patio with BBQ and fireplace, 2- a new paver driveway, 3 - tree removal (5 huge pines) and 4 - backyard regrading/drainage). We always get multiple quotes since we have put a lot of money into our property and truly value our outdoor space. Their prices have always been reasonable, if not the lowest. The crews have always been on time, professional and well coordinated. We always get compliments on the work they do and many of our neighbors have since used them. We definitely recommend them.
They had nice reviews on A/L and The Fairfax Co Guide -- BUT, they no showed us twice - not even the courtesy of a call. Not sure what is going on there.
