Came out the same day I called with a sprinkler leak; they diagnosed, gave an estimate and fixed within a business day! Reasonable, professional and did an excellent job! Great people! Used them again and they did amazing job on fresh rock and gravel for our yard and design of a rock-based fountain in our courtyard. I am elated with what they accomplished, EXACTLY what I wanted. To Red Shovels response - You have no record of me because I am not the landowner. Just because I am not disclosing where I live doesnt mean Im not an indirect customer. Your sales people made it seem like your crews were going to do some actual landscaping, but what Ive posted here is reality. Update 01/17/25 - All your crew does (between mowings) is walk around with their leaf blowers all morning, creating incredible noise pollution and blowing debris in between my doors and through cracks in the door jams. I have to wear earplugs inside of my house made of brick walls. Its very disruptive since I have things I need to do to work from home. I also work nights as a nurse and so often I have to sleep during the day. This is just debris removal, not actual landscaping. So far yall are not doing great. A client should never be parked in by one of your trucks and I shouldnt have to hunt someone down to move the truck. There is ample parking on this property. Your guy rolled his eyes at me when I asked why he was moving the truck back to where it was parked which blocks the driveway.

Arturo T. And Michael C. Did an amazing job. There is no way I could have done this by myself. So happy they were knowledgeable about a plumbing issue /leak near the job site. I cannot thank Red Shovel enough for the work and customer service. WOW! Comes to mind. Thanks again guys.

Im very disappointed in Red Shovel free estimate they gave me, they quoted me 1k...for 6 hrs, and I told then I was quoted 5or 6 hundred to be polite, they said we can do. $600 but only for 2hrs and they had 3 strong YOUNG workers but they wont promise anything. I called MARIOS, and this man in his 70s offer 300 and did it in hrs. Tip him another $100. Ill post it. I was not going to pay red shovel a person $100 a hour with NO promise to complete!! Less than a star

My first experience with red shovel has been nothing but positive. When I first booked an appointment to have an estimate done I spoke with Gilbert Gabaldon he was knowledgeable and full of details very quick to respond to all of my questions. I love the fact that he was able to be on-site for our first appointment. He introduced us to the crew that would be doing the work on our property and he walked the guys through the property, all the while explaining what we expected from them. Juan Amadeo Gomez and crew cleared out all of the debris from the trees and the weeds in the front yard and the side. They trimmed the hedges and made the appearance nice and neat. Great job! The next day Joseph Chavez, came out to do the weed spray. He was very accommodating to our schedule which we much appreciated. Thanks Joseph! I also requested that a tree be removed. This service is something that is separate from our original contract and was charged separately I have to say that the attention and detail and efficiency was remarkable. Kudos to David Martin and Leo Marshall and crew!!! Again the response time was absolutely amazing. They were able to give us a quote and do the work on the spot in no time at all. They also cleaned up after themselves and left our yard looking beautiful again. Thanks to all of the crews and everyone that helped coordinate. I have liked Red Shovel since they began, bu Javiers team today did an esecially good job trimming a bush that somehow became a huge tree! I am glad that I can ask them to do specific projects from time to time at no extra cost and with such sterling results! After the big winter storm this month, so many tree limbs fell that much of albuquerque was without power for 3-4 days. Although many homes are still waiting for clean up crews, Red Shovel customers had crews out to remove giant branches within a day or so after notifying them of the need. Today Marlon and Antonio--who have serviced my yard in the past-- not only came out and removed all the fallen branches, they came out twice because I forgot about the appointment the first time! It is so good to look out on a cleared yard!

Red Shovel sent a crew out to do general yard cleanup on a very large property. Marlon Brown, Raul Villezcas and Isaac Mel did the most thorough job that weve had done in over 5 years. My wife and I are very impressed and will be using Red Shovel for all of our yard and grounds needs going forward.

Oh my gosh, where to start? Our yard was an absolute disaster and not a great place to spend time in. James Kennedy, Edgar Davila, and Amadeo Schaedel were our heroes! They were all an absolute pleasure to work with, on time, and very professional. They removed all of the gravel and old, broken down weed barrier and put new barrier down with mulch (including an area in the back with playground grade mulch for my 4 year old to play). They removed old rotted wood separating the back, and the best part? The flagstone patio extension and walkway!! Our space is incredibly beautiful and we LOVE it! We ended up having an impromptu birthday party for my son today in the yard (they just finished yesterday). We had a nice, clean space to have the party and the kids had a blast with the inflatable pool. Everyone loved the new space, and as my dad put it, You guys finally have a living space out here! I couldn t agree more. We have spent the entire day in the yard today! Thanks James, Edgar, and Amadeo for all of your hard work! We love it! We also had edmund chris holguin come and and patch up our irrigation system, which was severely needed! He fixed the box as well. We (and pyr olants!) are so grateful!

I had a major yard clean up done. Marlon, Isaac, and John G were the crew. They were all friendly, courteous, and very hard working. The estimate was a bit more expensive than I expected but the results surpassed my expectations. I am very happy with the results.

My husband called this place initially for an estimate. We had a bush that ended up being very invasive and is spreading everywhere under the weed barrier and popping through any holes it can find. My yard looks incredible. Absolutely the best landscaping we ve ever had. Marlon, John G, Amadeo, David M, and Leonel were AMAZING. They cleaned our weeds, trimmed our trees and bushes. They hauled away a ton of debris. They even cleaned a year s worth of dog hair buildup by our backyard door that accumulates when our dogs go in and out. I have sidewalks again. So incredible! Also I would be remiss to not mention Shelby and Rhonda. I called them on a hope and a prayer because I only had a 2 day window. Red Shovel just completed an irrigation system remodel and did an excellent job! Two employees were key to the success of the project. E. Daniel Santos was the primary technician and his hard work, thoughtfulness, and meticulous focus resulted in an irrigation system that will serve me well for many years. Daniel finished the grass areas first so I was able to stop watering them by hand halfway through the project, which gave me back valuable time! The project was complex and Daniel brought all the skills needed trenching, electrical, cutting the driveway, putting in pavers, as well as all the piping, valves, sprinklers, etc. Daniel matched each tree, bush, shrub with the correct drip component to provide the volume of water the plant needs delivered in the manner that works best for the plant. While my primary goal was to automate the yard watering, I now realize I gained much more by completing this project the grass, bushes, trees are now getting the water they need in the way they need it (i.e., much more finesse than my using a hose and sprinkler). Sending a big Thank You to Daniel for his hard work that led to the outstanding results! Josh Lawless, the Irrigation Team Lead, has a true heart for customer service that resulted in a successful project with minimal stress! When Josh came out to investigate the state of my abandoned irrigation system, he figured things out quickly and then focused on helping me understand the state of the system and what could be done to remodel it. With the combined challenges of being a first time home buyer and not receiving information from the previous homeowner regarding the irrigation system, I appreciated Josh s ability to educate me and patience in answering my many questions. As the project proceeded, Josh s efforts to keep me informed were impressive he often answered questions before I thought to ask them and when I did reach out to him he always responded quickly (even after hours). Another key aspect of the project was picking the pavers for the driveway. Josh told me we needed to not rush the decision to ensure I was happy with the color choice. To help me with that decision, he brought pavers to the house and connected me with a landscaping supply company so I could look at options in person. The day the team put the pavers in, it was clear to me that Josh had been spot on and the effort he helped me put into selecting the pavers was critical to my satisfaction with the result. Josh is a great asset to Red Shovel and I m so glad he was the lead for my project!

This is a very well run local business. All the staff, from telephone to installation, were thoughtful, friendly and efficient. Our amazing technician Oscar answered all of our questions, prepared an itemized quote and delivered an on time & clean installation. These guys are a great to work with and other companies could learn a lot from them. 06.26.24 Update: we paid our invoice, then realized it didnt include an expected discount. Red Shovel soon realized it was their error, refunded the amount, plus a bit more as a way to apologize. Every contractor makes mistakes but not all are willing to admit and correct them.

At first, the weed killer they used didnt seem to have much effect, but over the next few days, I saw all the weeds they sprayed (except Silverleaf nightshade, which they specifically call out as not affected) started dying. The nightshade started dying as well, but it took about a week.

I had a rather prickly situation where our idea of having cactus gardens backfired a few years later. As gorgeous as they were, they were covered in weeds. We couldn t pull them. I visited my mother in law in Albuquerque what I witnessed with this company is outrageous!! $100 extra for a plastic washer for a sprinkler $400 extra to put grass seed on the small patches of grass !! I had Red Shovel remove and replace sod in my yard. They removed the dead grass area and added a top soil in one day. The next day they sodded the entire yard. I dont know what kind of job they do because they never called back.

The company is not departmentalized in a logical way. When you get yard maintenance, that department cannot do weed spraying or fix sprinklers. They seem to have a system in which it is the responsibility for the client to call 3 different departments or more for services. Their prices are very high and they charge $180 for landscape estimates which seems very extreme. The maintenance team was very nice though. However, with the departmental structure and the cost, I likely would not use them again unless there was some sort of emergency.

Joseph C and Keegan T from Red Shovel were very helpful, explaining things about our weeds I did not know; and doing a quick spot spray of our property after new weeds showed up after recent rains.

I am very glad I called Red Shovel to clean our yard. Hakeem, Miguel and Erick showed up, gave us a quote and started that day. They did an amazing job in the front and back yard getting rid of all the weeds and trimming back the trees. Very pleased! Thank you! I set up an appointment to have a quote put together for irrigation in my backyard. Seth and Keegan arrived on time and were able to put a quote together quickly. To my surprise, they were able to install that day! The price was fair and it was amazing to be able to have it done so fast. Thanks guys!

We needed our propertys irrigation dicthes cleaned and age had interviered with our getting this done as in the past. A Red Shovel crew went to work after their arival at 12 Noon. The projection was for the effort to take the afternoon and finish the following morning. As the dust flew and tall weeds fell a second crow showed up having finished a near by job early and pitched in to complete the project by the 3:30 quieting time. Caruth, Marlon, Erik, Yunior, Davide and Marquez made things happen with a smile and hard work. They could not have been friendlier or more professional. The photo documentation of the work alivated the need for me to have to hike out to the pasture to check the results. A good experiance, reinforced with the satisfaction guarnties of the crew and the company. My wife is planning projects for after the irrigation flooding of the pasture.

As owners of a small local business ourselves, we love to support other small locally owned businesses. We decided to reach out to Red Shovel 2 years ago with a few landscaping jobs around our property we wanted to pursue and to help us with the backyard grass and sprinkler system. Chris came out to consult on the patio planters and planted a beautiful set of natural dessert plants that are thriving to this day. The monthly yard maintenance has transformed our yard grass from dead splotches to a beautiful even area of green grass! The sprinkler and irrigation systems they updated work so good and reduce our waste of water. Michael M and George F continue to communicate well and follow through with the yard health. Seth has been amazing as well. He placed a new irrigation system throughout the front of our house as well as along the back. Everything is thriving now and we are not wasting water with the old pipes and wasted water irrigation. The staff and technicians at Red Shovel are all so polite and really care about the job! We started our membership with Red Shovel this past week and we are satisfied with the services so far. Javier and Rigo did a nice job mowing, edging and cleaning up the yard. A couple days later Carson and Joseph stopped by to spray for weeds. The crews let me know before they arrived and were respectful and efficient with their work. We are looking forward to the improvements they make with our yard and I will update my review as we move forward. Update 5/15- Michael and George arrived to do turf care which includes weed control, fertilizer, and soil conditioner. My large backyard was a mess (weeds, debris, small tree blown over, holes - I have 4 dogs). David M. and his team got it cleaned up and looking really nice. I hired Red Shovel for yard cleanup after letting things get out of control for about 18 months in my backyard, courtyard, and front yard. They gave me a fair quote and made quick work of removing weeds, trimming trees, mowing and trimming the grass, and removing 18 months of leaf litter and other debris.
