Asked for a quote & was informed that all new service carries a minimum (and mandatory) 3 cut service. They demanded agreement to that before they would even share what the cost was. Beware: they will sign you up for marketing texts without consent. Maybe their service is amazing, but I'm not committing to a 3 cut minimum before even hearing the price OR seeing the quality of work.
The proof is in the pudding. Someone else on here made a review about how this company is responsive, but cold and uncaring. And the response was... You guessed it, cold and uncaring. We were searching around for quotes and this company popped up. We gave barley any information and ultimately ended up choosing another company. ****We DID NOT schedule an appointment with this company.*** And even if we accidentally had... They didn't call text or email us at all whatsoever. About a week later (again with out any call or text).. 2 random guys showed up at my house, saw me in the window - didn't knock or acknowledge me, and just started walking around my house. I sent my husband out and the guy was pretty rude to him, seemed mad that we didn't need his services, and ended up storming off the property....unprofessional.
We decided to give LawnStarter a try this year. We regret it. We thought LawnStarter was an actual landscaping company—it is not. It is basically Uber for lawn care where anyone with a lawn mower can sign up. Since starting service for bi-weekly mowing on May 1st, we had 6 or 7 different providers. Providers would regularly cancel or just no call/no show. There were a couple times that our lawn went nearly a month without being mowed because the provider wouldn’t show up and we’d get shuffled around until someone who would show up was found. On occasion, providers would leave halfway through the job and not return. LawnStarter support is responsive, but cold and uncaring.
Absolutely garbage company. After they mowed our yard with no problem, they returned the next week and did terrible and mowed 1 strip in my backyard. They then blamed me for not telling them I had a gate and couldn’t fit their mower through. They already fit it through 2 weeks ago! Horrible service, do not recommend. When trying to get it resolved, the technician named Scott, just blamed me and said he couldn’t come back out.
They are terrible. Dallas Daniels ruined my lawn and I will have to spend quite a bit of money to restore my lawn.
The guys did an ok job or getting someone out to mow the lawn at a vacant property of mine. Then when there was no longer a crew to maintain my property the decided to charge me for a service that did not happen and then continue to push out service for the following appointments. When I brought this to their attention, via a message in the app because their customer service lines are always busy and you never get a call back, I received an automated email back in response that there were no crews available in my area and they would work to get more and then my service was discontinued by the company without them telling me, right after they said they were going to correct the issue. The prices were good but the crews were never on time and they did not communicate any issue and provided no support.
Terrible customer service. Hires subcontractors that don’t show up/not screened. The first crew that showed up came in a u-haul truck. Charged me 40 dollars to mow (just mow) my yard when the service clearly states that it includes a weed eating and edging and cleaning up after themselves. Locked me in to a 3 cut minimum that I signed up to have done weekly. It’s now a month and a half in and I’m still waiting for my third cut. Every time I call I get put on hold for a half hour and then it hangs up. When I schedule a call back, it never happens. There’s no communication. DO NOT USE THIS SERVICE. It’s been nothing short of a nightmare. I finally broke down and bought a new mower, but I still have that mysterious 3rd cut looming over my head. I tried canceling and it will not let me till after the third cut. When I call to tell them I have fulfilled my part of the obligation by waiting as long as I have, I get put on hold and a half hour later, it hangs up. I guess I’ll have to change my credit card number, and call the better business bureau, because this is absurd how they treat customers.
Lawnstarter does not provide customers with reputable crews. They do not provide service in a timely fashion. We had crews that did not show to complete services as scheduled (on multiple occasions), and the ones that did were not thorough in completing services as requested and damaged the siding on our house...which we had to pay to get repaired. As of today, we canceled service with LawnStarter (after giving multiple chances to correct issues) due to another no show. I called on Thursday to confirm my appointment for Friday. I was told the crew would be at our house on Friday as scheduled, and LawnStarter said that they would message the crew to have them contact me to give a window of time of their arrival on Friday. I never heard anything from the crew, nor did they show. I contacted LawnStarter to be told that the crew would be at our house on Monday. By Monday at 3:30pm I had not heard from the crew, so I contacted LawnStarter only to be told that there was nothing that they could do...just for me to call back by dark if the crew did not show. I called back as instructed to report the no show, to be informed that the crew actually had cancelled their appointment last week for our services for Friday (as orig scheduled) and that LawnStarter had not been able to locate a crew to take the job. NO ONE communicated this to me in all of my attempts in trying to get services completed. To top it off, we have a credit on our account that LawnStarter will only issue us if we continue services...WHAT??? My husband and I were definitely left in a bind. I WILL NOT use, nor would I recommend LawnStarter to anyone!
They did a decent job. I left windows open downstairs, so some grass came inside. My fault, tho. All in all, they did a good job.
They were supposed to show up 3 seperate times. Kept calling and get put on hold and never answered back. They never showed!! Zero professionalism

Thomas is phenomenal he always does a beautiful job. Hes very kind and considerate. It was trash day and my trash cans sitting in front of my house he was very nice and took him to the back of the house without me even asking him to do that.
Chai always gives us the best cut and trim! Always on-time and responsive!

Very unprofessional. Contacted them and they gave me a price and then decided not to honor their pricing and when I called to figure everything out they transferred me to the wrong department and hung up on me multiple times. Their customer support now wont even reply to me. All I wanted was for them to honor their own policy and the agreed amount

One of the greatest things I did was find this company my lawn havent looked so beautiful.. The customer service it self is excellent. Fair prices and great employees. Basically lawn starter is an company you can appreciate.
This is our second season using LawnStarter. Communication is easy via email and smart phone app. They arrive on time and stay in touch without being intrusive. They arrive on time and do a good job. We plan to use the service for other jobs.

Got connected with an automated response. Then someone called me from out of the state offering a $18 mow and couldnt answer any questions for me all I wanted was a 10 secon weed walking and a quick trim.
They did a great job with the yard clean up. But they canceled the next mow at the last minute
I was not pleased choppy and they came to mow beginning of month I canceled before that plus it was raining took money out of my account nothing was done to my yard I called and complained and was to have a refund in 7- 10 days still havent seen it random guys mowed and then someone else came and was going to mow guess you pick mowing were u want I was not satisfied
Amazing....This is the second time I ve received services. My Crew is the Thomas Abney Lawn Care Services....they are always on time. They respond quick....and they do a great job !!! I m happy I finally found a reliable lawn care service !!
They didnt do ANYTHING right. First time, they never did anything and charged me for it. Second time I wasnt here, they missed weeding by my garage and house. Third time, and last time, it took professional five minutes, and that was it. I say, good riddance.
No customer service phone numbers listed in app. Crew states they have not been paid from previous weeks cut and the money was taken from my account.
Constantly rotating lawn care subcontractors so inconsistent lawn care. Lawn starter doesnt guarantee the work. Many subcontractors dont have the necessary equipment or skills. App is nice, but better to get a dedicated mowing service.

I encountered Garrett Family Lawn and Landscape through LawnStarter they damaged my flower beds on the first visit. Joe owner sent co-owner Dale out to view the damage. Dale said my yard was not how he wanted his company represented apologized and said they had hired a new crew. Grass and weeds a mess. In the flower beds my hostas plants were weeded to the root. Dale said he would redo my flower beds and replace my 9 hostas plants. On the day that Garrett Family Lawn and Landscape was to return to service my yard as well as take care of my flower bed damage. I got a message that they were unable to return to my home for lawn care and a new company would take over. YOU CAN NOT DAMAGE Customers PROPERTY (Mine) and JUST WALK AWAY. GFLL Joe and Dale have to be held accountable. I m highly upset and disappointed with this company. I DO NOT recommend GFLL or LawnStarter to anyone. LawnStarter should be ashamed for the no empathy customer service l received from Jessica in the property damage claims department.
I requested the bi-weekly mowing. I pay less than $100 for the entire month. They remove everything such as solar walk way lights etc. They edge and weed whack under our iron fence and throughout the whole yard. Good quality for a fantastic price.
