#1. From start to finish all human contact (excellent) friendly, personable, attentive and respectful. #2. Reasonably priced; all tho I d gotten a better quote on my overall job, I chose this company, because, I happened to see this work truck at a stop light I called from my car, received an immediate response, the frontline/ initial responder, went out of his way to come by, give quote even tho it was the end of his work day. However, my main reason was the knowledge he had, the honesty, and he did not try to push me into giving him the job. No gimmicks. #3. The actual team who showed up to do the job, was extremely professional very calm assured me they could do the job and was-accommodating. The only reason I did not give five stars, the Tree technicians, were late without notice. I had to initiate the call to find out what happened. However, they did come and they did a FANTASTIC job. Although they explained that the last job took longer than expected; Nonetheless time is valuable, and a heads up phone call is always appreciated. The big question; would/will I use them again? Thornton s crew removed a really large mulberry from a tight place between the fence and shop in my backyard. Great group of guys that were careful not to damage my property and cleaned up all the mess. The stump is gone and ready for grass to be planted. Great job!!

If your wanting top tier affordable tree service, stop looking and ask for a quote. I had two 60ft trees. Both with trunks 3-5ft in diameter. These guys brought a fleet (crane, loader, multiversity, lifts chain saws.) From 9am to 5pm, after it was done the only sign they were ever here was a little mulch in the yard. 11/10 hands down, best in Texas with a humble cost!!!!

Needed some stumps ground. Some were in tight spaces. Steve came out and used a robotic stump grinder to grind the stumps, fill the holes, and level them. Great job! Incredible to watch. Took less time than I expected. Amazing to watch and great results. Thanks!!

Thornton s removed a huge dying pecan tree from our front yard several years ago with excellent service and results. Recently we needed one medium sized Bradford Pear removed, one medium Post Oak trimmed near the driveway, and three tall and huge pecan trees in our back yard topped and trimmed of sucker limbs. They did an excellent job and cleaned the yards looking better than when they arrived. The cost for insured and bonded work was very reasonable and well worth the price. Wow.....we knew our trees needed trimming but didnt know it would make a huge difference in the front of our house. They cleaned up like they werent even here. I will recommend them to anyone who needs tree trimming.

They came out and had the first tree down and chipped within 45 minutes of my wife telling me she wanted to keep that tree. They trimmed the other two trees and it looks amazing! They even raked up the leaves and took them with them.

Second time I have used Thortons since I moved to Abilene in 2022. This time had a very large dead tree that was a safety issue. I knew they were the only one I trusted to take this tree down. Was in awkward place hard to get to. Had to take down and across my house roof to get it out of the yard. All workers are friendly and respectful. Everything cleaned up. They were able to work with my schedule and set a day that worked for me. They arrived on time for my estimate, listened to my concerns and answered my questions thoroughly. Had a tree stump removed, they were quick and cleaned up after. Great price as well! Only problem i had was they did not come out the day of the appointment and never called to let us know, we had to call them.

The work took longer than expected due to some unforeseen problems and scheduling miscues, but overall I was very pleased with their work. Completed everything they agreed to do and stuck to their estimate. Cleaned up after themselves as well. Will use them again.

Within 3 hours, they cleared the tree and cleaned the debris. Richard and his crew worked quickly, efficiently and safely. Richard answered all my questions without hesitation. They Arrived on time and worked very hard to trim branches that were hanging from storm damage and then trim many trees to raise the canopy so you could enjoy the view of our ten acres. I will be calling them again we we need trees trimmed or removed.

Trimming crew got here ahead of schedule when the morning was still cool. Worked as a team and everyone wore proper safety gear. 50-year old silver maple was overdue for cleanup and deadwood removal. Thornton crew made it look easy. Small debris cleanup was excellent, tree looks great. Very fair charge for requiring use of man-lift for tall stuff. Highly recommend these guys.

Had seven trees removed and stumps ground down for an extremely reasonable price. All debris was cleaned up thoroughly. You could tell that these guys really enjoy their jobs, they were friendly and very efficient. The Thorntons crew was amazing; the original review was 5 stars. They were careful, they cleaned up the mess, they were polite. BUT the estimate and bill included stump grinding. The machine would not fit so the grinding was not done. We asked that that be considered on the final bill. There was not an adjustment. We also received several outstanding unpaid bill reminders. One of those reminders came today--2 days after the check cleared the bank.

Thorough, prompt, on-time, and professional --- all reasonably priced! They have the right equipment for the job and easy to communicate with all the way. I highly recommend them for any tree related project. I found out they have a certified arborist on staff. They work from Abilene, TX and a large area around their location. We are a good hour from them.

We needed a dead tree removed from the back yard. Thorntons took it down quickly. We wanted the stump ground down but had a plate glass wind by the tree. The crew put up a barrier so my window wouldn t get chipped. They were marvelous.

Thorntons Tree Service did a great job trimming the six live oaks surrounding our home. The crew did exactly as we had discussed in the original estimate. Im pleased with the trimmed shape of the trees, the yard was left clean, and the extra job of removing a planter was completed with a smile even though it was more work than the guys had originally planned. Very pleased with the job and will be calling them whenever we need tree trimming done.

Great job on the tree removal. Would have given 5 stars except I very specifically instructed the arborist to LEAVE me the trunk. Imagine my surprise to come home and fid it gone.

We have an extremely large tree in our backyard, so big it goes across couple of others yards. Big problem, it was up into the power lines. After years of me pressuring AEP, they semi cleared the lines. Thornton s had a tough job! They brought the crane, in front of house & had guy in back, tying off big limbs, cutting them, so crane could lift over house. Big crew in front, guiding crane operator & cutting up limbs & disposing in the chipper. They worked together like a well oiled machine!! Whole crew, super knowledgeable, new what they were doing & all were super nice. When they were done, they raked & cleaned everything up. Fantastic job & will use again for couple other houses!! UPDATE: the tree is complete! Thornton s needed to finish the other side of the tree that was in the neighbors yard, however they weren t home that day. Thornton s contacted them to see when they would be home to finish the job, set it up, went over and was able to take care of it. They are so professional and all just awesome guys! I needed two trees removed after a bad wind storm. Thorntons had an estimate for me the same morning and the workers were there the same day to remove the trees. Thorntons Tree Service personnel recently cut and trimmed some large tree limbs at my house and my nephews house next door. They were very professional and they did a great job. I was amazed at their skill and their courage. Its quite a sight to see men up in that crane taking down huge limbs and moving them safely to the ground. Also, they cleaned up all the tree branches and leaves. My yard looked very clean and neat when they left.

We used Thornton s Tree Service for cutting multi extended branches that were in our airspace from a neighboring yard. Having a new roof, we wanted to protect it from a seeping pecan tree . Mike Thornton and his crew were very professional. They came to our home soon upon request for an estimate and were fairly priced for our extensive , severe cutting job needed .Their work was thorough ; we were very pleased. I had several overgrown trees along the fence I share with my neighbor. I have had it cut back several times by other people, but it always grew back. This time, Thorntons trimmed it completely to the ground as close as possible and it made a huge difference!

Do excellent work trimming trees. Had 10 very large cottonwood trees trimmed and they were safe, and knew exactly how to trim them. Also did a good job cleaning up. Will definitely use again.

Large branch broke off tree. Foliage and branch were shredded and removed. Smaller branches that were too close to roof were removed. Crew was prompt, efficient, helpful and experienced. Very pleased with end result.

We had two huge damaged pecan trees removed by Thornton s tree service. It was fascinating watching the skill and care which the crew worked but just as fascinating seeing how clean they left our yard. This company is totally professional and would recommend them if you want excellent service.

Called to get a quote on grinding 6 stumps and was told I would get a call back from their guy that was in Midland. He called within an hour and was over to the house within 15 minutes to look at the job. They quoted the job immediately after looking at it (great price) and began working immediately. They had to go get the grinder, came back later, and had it all knocked out very fast. Definitely recommend Thorntons. I wish wouldve used them to take out the trees of the stumps we had removed. Great service!

Magnificent job!!! Richard & his crew (Angel & Malik (sp?) took down 4 trees in my yard, did a great deal of pruning dead limbs in other huge mature Afghan Pine, pecan, cedar, & mulberry trees, trimmed back branches overhanging my house, ground stumps to ground level, & did a marvelous job of cleaning up all of the debris. Richard is a master at maneuvering the 60 lift and trimming branches so no damage is done to buildings/objects below. And a magician at running the skid steer in cleanup and leveling. I couldn t be happier with all of the crew s hard work, the work ethic each showed, and the results. If you want the best, let Thornton s Tree Service do your work. You ll be as amazed as I am. We got a quote from them and within a few days they were at our home removing the tree - Mike (the owner) came to our door, introduced himself and explained exactly what they were going to do. They removed our extremely large dead tree in the front yard within the day and not only filled the hole in but also cleaned up immaculately!! I had a dead 18-20ft tall pear tree that was dangerously close to the roof/home and needed to be removed. Thornton s Tree Service safely removed the tree and cleaned the area, all within an hour or less. I would definitely use them again and recommend them for anyone that has tree removal needs. Wonderful service! Quick estimate and very professional and quality work.

Had a tree fall on my house at 6 in the morning. Called a few 24/7 tree services and no one answered except for Thortons. I was able to submit my request at 6:30 and I was told a tech would reach out within 15-20 minutes. No one reached out. I called again, they had to resubmit my request and then was told 30 minutes until a tech would reach out. An hour goes by and someone finally gives me a call. By this point I already had someone else on the way because I needed someone ASAP. If you have an urgent request early in the morning, I would not recommend Thortons.

Mike and his crew did an excellent job taking down a 50 ft oak tree by our pool that was causing a leak. They cut the tree into segments and used a large crane to move it out of our back yard without incident . The clean up was also excellent, highly recommend them.

What can I say? The team showed up at noon and gone at 2:15. They were respectful of my property and did a thorough cleanup before leaving. Would hire them again and suggest you give them a call as well.
